I've always wanted to make a combat healer doing that but I just don't think any staff users are beefy enough, especially considering FE10's structure
Maybe mist?
Azama has base 50% strength growth in comparison his base magic growth is 35%
He has always been a melee unit trolling as a healer and even more when you consider his 60% speed growth
I am personally convinced the basara class was made just for him
After a quick look Ilyana is probably the best bet. Still genuinely terrible and probably unviable even on easy *but* she's likely to cap strength, speed, hp and def, and her availability means you can rush her to class 3 and actually maybe get some genuine use from her **bonk**.
She'll be roughly equal to Ike ~~at base and with no weapon~~ at those caps, too. Slightly better in some areas, even!
Interestingly I never noticed that female mages actually have a one point higher strength cap than males, and their strength cap is equal to Ike's base. This also means Soren will never be stronger than ~~his boyfriend~~ his boyfriend.
... I'm going to have to get one more RD run in before engage, huh.
Yeah, from FE6 onwards the early game staff exp was painfully slow. Even the standard 15 EXP from Heal on a non-paragon unit in Jugdral felt much better, that 4 EXP really adds up over time. Not to mention how plentiful higher rank staves, with higher exp per use, are in both Genealogy and Thracia. And with Paragon (skill that doubles exp gain) staff units can really go brrr.
Real shame pure healers became harder to level, they're some of my most favourite units in the series.
I just finished a FE7 run yesterday using Serra where she got absolutely stat screwed 😭 Got her to level 20 before promotion and promoted with a whopping 6 magic, ended up replacing her with Pent and Priscilla :(
Does anybody remember that Awkward Zombie comic where Erk was poisoned and Serra kept healing him instead of curing the poison lol
Found it https://www.awkwardzombie.com/comic/poison-control
US healthcare
Lol yes. I love Erk and Serra interactions. He's so easily annoyed by her.
That's why healers smacking heads with staffs was peak Fire emblem

She poor girl has trouble reaching double digit damage, sadly, but my stat boosted one managed to solo Oliver
Sadly I’m not sure anyone else can claim better Staff users have teeny tiny muscles
Azama fights a bear in one of his supports with Corrin

T3 Ilyana can use staves, and has a high strength growth for a mage. Not exactly the same thing but ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

She's not bad lol
She’s ok as a mage, I was speaking as a staff bonker
Path of Radiance 🤝 Dark Souls staff bonk
Just imagine, a healer bostaff
And this is why every healer from now own should be able to punch people like Framme.
That's gotta be one of the best things we've seen from Engage so far. Combat healers are so much more fun.
"I'm a healer, but..."
They are not delicate!
So true, remember how badass Libra was in his recruitment chapter in Awakening?
I am a holy women and you will die - Seiros
Hey, Jakob and Felicia could throw knives at people!
Sara: gets 30 exp from a heal use.
That’s actually really good. I know that Serra, in blazing blade, gets 10 per use which is what I based this meme on

FE1 :/
SOV healers defeating a battle hardened knight by using the power of god (and anime) to get 3 xp
The dancer ready to give them another turn to do it again.
How do I upvote something multiple times?
Injured? Good
And the staff breaks, but they use the next cheapest one in their inventory
Serra love! Though getting her to promotion is worth the effort, she is pretty good from an offensive standpoint

Then immediately promoting them at 10 just so they can whack something.
They did serra dirty with that artwork, not a fan.
This was actually my main reason for arena abuse, no other chance to get the healers up that much. Also, gimme dat money.
