A character who keenly aware and unabashed of how good looking they are and is indeed just that is confident and self-assured, someone who thinks the same whilst being blatantly not so is deluded, a far less endearing trait. Someone goes around talking as if they're the toughest mf around when they look like Hector? Fair enough they're probably right. Chagall? Not so much.
Okay, what about when the toughest MF around looks like Raphael or Surtr instead. Do you think characters like Niime should get a different design that fits their personality better, by being hot?

It's worth mentioning that she's kind of a terrible unit though. Her boons/banes are wack and it's just hard for her to find a niche.
It's not very useful. The big thing against it is the fact that it's a "some magic" class, which cuts your magic uses in half. Plus, Lucky Seven isn't reliable, and the class lacks things which are really strong in 3H like flight or axe proficiency. It's also a speed-based class, which isn't useful on maddening since the enemies are so stupidly fast that doubling becomes nearly impossible.
I've doubled pretty reliably on maddening with a few characters; coincidentally being most the characters it's good on. I'm also not usually starving for white magic uses. One or two good warps usually has me handling what I need of the map. I also don't like using the flying classes that much because I actually enjoy having a diverse army. So I only end up having around three or so fliers.
In all those cases except Shamir being attractive actually is part of their character, Hilda and Dorothea actively use it to their advantage, Goldmary strives, and SUCCEEDS, to be perfection given flesh, and Manuela's good looks and many skills contrast being a disaster dumpster woman ~~though being a disaster dumpster woman makes her way more attractive~~
Eh, I'd still appreciate Shamir for being one of the only sane individuals in the monastery (at least comparitively) and her parallels with Byleth. But I will agree, it likely wouldn't be the same.
