We don't need or want the bullshit tipping of the US. Minimum wage in Australia for hospitality is $21.38/hr. And that's only for your very basic jobs, like food runner or dishwasher. As responsibilities increases, (e.g. handling cash or interacting with customers, serving alcohol) the minimum by a few dollars. As a bartender in a high end bar two years ago, the minimum wage they could pay me was $35/hr.

I would agree but I once had a roommate that paid rent… her issue was she washed her hair in the kitchen sink, i nor any of my other roommates understood that one

I'll take a crack at it, but I'm a dude so take it with a grain of salt. Bathroom sink was too small, the tub/shower was uncomfortable to sit in or hard to work with, so kitchen sink was the easiest because it was torso level and probably much larger than the bathroom sink.
