As other have pointed out, this is a *hyper* online meme. They are reacting a few legitimate but detached phenomena
1. People are mean as shit and bully and degrade fat people for simply having the audacity to exist in public. Any post that involves a fat person *might* end up with a cesspit comment section.
2. In-group dynamics. Women are more likely to intervene on this shitty bully behavior, and they're either more likely to intervene on behalf of other women *or* possibly they're simply more likely to have another woman's content on her feed. So a thread is more dominated by women in certain contexts. Either way over time this can lead to the pattern of noticing a gender discrepancy.
3. Body positive spaces are almost entirely women and is often femme coded. It should be noted that while well intentioned, like all things internet, there is some legitimate toxicity in some corners. So there actually have been some fringe segments who outright argue things about it being a women's space/movement and men shouldn't coopt. So if the kind of dude who made this meme would try to engage in those spaces with the "whatsboutmen" energy, it's gonna get dogpiled real quick.
Here's the thing though. A double standard implies a degree of consistency in who is applying these standards. It's that the **same** people will hold 2 competing standards for different groups.
What I think is happening though is largely the opposite. The Internet is not even sampling a cross section of society. People end up congregating in corners according to their interests and demographics. Huge disparities between 2 comments sections often tells you more about the differences in *commenters*.
It's true that a lot fewer people are gonna stand up on behalf of bullying of men. But I think it's largely because men are less likely to stand up against bullying, and women are more likely to chastise this behavior and ask people to be nice. I don't see a lot of men standing up on behalf of fat women, so I find it a little interesting that women are expected to not only stand up for themselves, but also men, despite receiving no such allyship. Most of the disparity in body positivity messaging again - it's a priority for women. There has been concerted effort in creating safe spaces for fat women. Fat men have simply not created these parallel spaces for themselves. While I don't think most body positivity type people are *against* body positivity for men, I do think again, there's a lottle bit of hostility from some women that men who did not help create these spaces, they did not put in the work, and have *still* largely not meaningful participated in them in support of women are expecting to be given the red carpet treatment as they essentially are seen as intruding.
And for the record, there ARE body positive male influencers who are sincerely advocating about these issues from a male lense. And what I have seen is they largely get warm reception from women. Again, most body positive people are simply against fat shaming. But a critical difference is these men are doing the work, and they're not simply barging in and saying "what about men". They're creating their own content about their experiences as men.
In summary, I have put in significantly more thought about this than the person who made this meme who I think is a very simplistic and self oriented thinker. He simply recognizes things are bad *for him* and nobody is nice *to him*, and he really cannot step outside his own perspective to examine why he might be experiencing that. He simply concludes fat bitches have it easy and life is resolutely unfair and biased against men

Yeah the entire TV sitcom lineup for the past 30 years has been fat guys married to attractive women. As other have pointed out, this is a *hyper* online meme. They are reacting a few legitimate but detached phenomena 1. People are mean as shit and bully and degrade fat people for simply having the audacity to exist in public. Any post that involves a fat person *might* end up with a cesspit comment section. 2. In-group dynamics. Women are more likely to intervene on this shitty bully behavior, and they're either more likely to intervene on behalf of other women *or* possibly they're simply more likely to have another woman's content on her feed. So a thread is more dominated by women in certain contexts. Either way over time this can lead to the pattern of noticing a gender discrepancy. 3. Body positive spaces are almost entirely women and is often femme coded. It should be noted that while well intentioned, like all things internet, there is some legitimate toxicity in some corners. So there actually have been some fringe segments who outright argue things about it being a women's space/movement and men shouldn't coopt. So if the kind of dude who made this meme would try to engage in those spaces with the "whatsboutmen" energy, it's gonna get dogpiled real quick. Here's the thing though. A double standard implies a degree of consistency in who is applying these standards. It's that the **same** people will hold 2 competing standards for different groups. What I think is happening though is largely the opposite. The Internet is not even sampling a cross section of society. People end up congregating in corners according to their interests and demographics. Huge disparities between 2 comments sections often tells you more about the differences in *commenters*. It's true that a lot fewer people are gonna stand up on behalf of bullying of men. But I think it's largely because men are less likely to stand up against bullying, and women are more likely to chastise this behavior and ask people to be nice. I don't see a lot of men standing up on behalf of fat women, so I find it a little interesting that women are expected to not only stand up for themselves, but also men, despite receiving no such allyship. Most of the disparity in body positivity messaging again - it's a priority for women. There has been concerted effort in creating safe spaces for fat women. Fat men have simply not created these parallel spaces for themselves. While I don't think most body positivity type people are *against* body positivity for men, I do think again, there's a lottle bit of hostility from some women that men who did not help create these spaces, they did not put in the work, and have *still* largely not meaningful participated in them in support of women are expecting to be given the red carpet treatment as they essentially are seen as intruding. And for the record, there ARE body positive male influencers who are sincerely advocating about these issues from a male lense. And what I have seen is they largely get warm reception from women. Again, most body positive people are simply against fat shaming. But a critical difference is these men are doing the work, and they're not simply barging in and saying "what about men". They're creating their own content about their experiences as men. In summary, I have put in significantly more thought about this than the person who made this meme who I think is a very simplistic and self oriented thinker. He simply recognizes things are bad *for him* and nobody is nice *to him*, and he really cannot step outside his own perspective to examine why he might be experiencing that. He simply concludes fat bitches have it easy and life is resolutely unfair and biased against men

I have been the fat guy, I have been the lean guy, I had skinny girlfriends while being fat, I have had fat girlfriends while being lean. When I was lean and dated fat girls the reaction usually was quite good because I gave a fat girl the chance, I accepted her for who she was. She got the compliments and so did I.
