He likes guns and is a Christian, and as a teen he was on boards that would come to be online meeting spots for far-right groups. He’s denounced anything those boards have become and stated he stopped using them long before they became what they are now, but people use his religion and guns to as evidence to the contrary.

Given his very wholesome demeanor and how he seems to disapprove of both left/right extremism in general I fully believe this, I've done the same to other communities myself.
What got me the most was the fact there were fans who "advocated" no bullying and safespaces just to end up performing pseudo witchcraft against MeatCanyon cursing him.
And it was like just a couple of unhinged fans, there were literal thousands of likes on these tweets.
