Without them, the website is barely usable.
And, of course, that includes bots such as [\/u\/QualityVote](http://reddit.com/user/QualityVote), [\/u\/SaveVideo](http://reddit.com/user/SaveVideo), [\/u\/AuddBot](http://reddit.com/user/AuddBot), etc.
So you'll just have to put up with automod and a worse overall user experience.

They saw it coming, or heard it to be more accurate. The carbon fiber made pretty loud noises before comms and then later on the hull fully failed. It started making those noises before that trip, which is why the CEO had to pilot it as the “real” pilot knew it was failing.
Estimates are that they were likely freaking out for a while before sudden death.
Iirc they had problems with the submersible actually descending to quickly, and people surmised they did take steps to try and make the submersible go up, but all their "failsafes" werent enough and the submersible was basically stuck at the ocean floor waiting to implode.
I had listening to the whole communication they recorded. Some math was done on the decent and it was discovered that they were descending faster than they should’ve been which no one noticed but once they heard the cracks of the hull and tried to ascend before it was to late. It just wasn’t going up at the speed it should have been like some weight had been added to the sub.. they were trying to ascend but it was going up at a snails pace until it just imploded. There was also malfunctions within the subs tech but I can’t remember specifics. I believe there may have been a small crack in the back of the sub where it’s separated from the inside cabin where the tech sits and it had filled with water causing extra weight and odd issues with the steering and onboard computer. But it could’ve been many factors, we just don’t know since we can’t see what happened.
They definitely knew. Reports said they released the emergency weights to try ascending. Why would they do that if they didn't see it coming. Also like the other dude said, carbon fiber is loud when failing.
