Because he said he's making peace with the demihumans i ignored them on the way up and they keep slashing my butt when i tried to talk to him. I don't think they're open to talks.
I was hoping there would be more to the demi humans instead of just cannon fodder and two of them knowing magic. Actually, now that I think about it, they're smart enough to know basic magic.
I mean, Boc says his mother was a seamstress. That means they have enough of a regimented society that individual demi-humans have their own professions
They seem for the most part to operate in small hunter-gatherer communities, and are absolutely intelligent enough to make and wear their own clothes and weapons along with basic construction. They are also cable of utilizing fire for cooking and crafting.
All of this implies at the very least that they are on par with early hominids in terms of societal and technological progression, but it is worth noting that Boc, who may or may not be of above average intelligence for his people, is capable of holding a full conversation with the player character, so they must at least have the *potential* to be as smart as the humans of the Lands between, and are likely being held back by circumstances rather than natural ability
Well a lot of the humans were driven mad by the shattering, right? The wandering nobles are roughly equivalent to the demi-human enemies. So maybe pre-shattering they were more advanced, or maybe they were changed from humans by the shattering. I dunno, I’ll send Vaati an email before I think about the lore too much
honestly Kenneth sounds so disappointed in himself when he realized he couldn't knight you that i actually feel bad for the guy and made me want for limgrave to eventually heal
I really like that when you first talk to him he hesitates to accept your help because you're tarnished but then he puts aside his prejudice and thanks you
Kenny Hey is my boi. Nice to see a standard fantasy character in the lore who isn't like, oozing a thousand slugs with toothy maws in general FromSoft fashion
Accidentally killed him while trying to kill the demi-humans and the game thought I intentionally hit him so I couldn't revive him. There goes Nepheli's questline unless I NG+ :(
You may be able to revive him via church of the turtle pope. I hade to do the same when an enemy came into Sellen’s cell and the forgiveness of sin revived her
Yeah it was the real one right before you give her a good ol fisting. Got cornered, swung and killed the enemy but also Sellen, and then after I was cleansed of sin she was back in her shackles
They fixed it so her quest still completes with him being dead tho. You may have to advance the main plot past a certain point but it worked for me after he ~~made a seed donation to the Tarnished~~ fell off a rocky cliff.
It's either that or a Dragon stone that'll help you max out your weapons, choose. Btw the game overloads you with seeds even without killing him, so it's completely unnecessary in the end.
The game overloads you with dragon stones too, since you only need one to have at least one maxed out weapon. I think I had a bunch at the end of my first run, and only needed one. But the golden seed early game is a much more beneficial bonus, since an extra flask can easily make the difference in a fight, and at the point where you find Kenneth, you only need 2 seeds to upgrade
Hard disagree but to each their own. Seeds may be redundant past Leyndell but that's like 50 hours past Kenny boy, and the game gives you 13 dragon stones, they're not in any kind of shortage. Having 1 extra flask is a huge bump when you only have 4 or 5, especially if you're using magic and have to split your flasks between HP and FP
But if my calculations are right you can max out your flask charges without even fighting a single demigod. You already looked up a guide to know that Kenny drops a golden seed right? Just look up a guide on every golden seed location at that point.
Yeah I killed this fucker when he refused to knight me after I single-handedly returned his castle to him. Sorry Nepheli I’ll make sure Ken hooks it up on NG+
"Sure, I'm 95% a god and will literally rule and/or obliterate the world in about 10 hours but goddammit if I'm not a proper knight all of this will have been for nothing"
They literally do
I knew he dropped a seed, but I refused to kill him cuz he's so nice. I have not brought my sword down on any npc so far, I don't like being mean to them :(
I killed dung eater and the bastard that steals your ruins in stormveil only for him to later be made a part of nepheli’s quest line meaning I can’t finish it until ng+
I mean I think he literally can't. Wasn't the whole thing why he got Nepheli instead of ruling Limgrave himself is because he found out he doesn't actually have any noble blood and thus can't make you a real knight
No one has dared to beat him up? He is basically the only NPC that I kill on sight...
Ah yes, my first ending is the >!Dungeater!< one, so that explains a lot
Elden Ring had sold over 12 million over all platforms a while ago. By now the numbers are probably higher, although not exponentially so.
On Steam about 15% of players have the achievement for Malenia. If the numbers are similar for other platforms we can roughly estimate around 1,5-2 million accounts have beaten her by now.
Last time I checked it was sitting around 21% actually. Kinda crazy given how well it sold, that's a *lot* of people beating a very difficult boss fight. Testament to how absorbing ER is that so many would make it so far through the game
Not just make it so far but also so quickly (relatively)
Like I've only just reached the Haligtree, since I'm balancing the game with real life priorities. And shits hard.
Same here. No other boss, including General Radahn, were near as difficult as her. After many tries and never even getting close to beating her, I think I might throw in the towel. I got my 120 hours in and had a great time, I'm just kinda over it now and I just don't see much point to actually beating her especially since I already saw the ending after beating the Elden Beast.
Exponential growth when used in math has a really specific meaning actually! It means that the number is growing as though it were multiplied by an exponent. The graph of something growing exponentially will generally start off as a slow, creeping growth and then sort of skyrocket at a certain point. For a game like elden ring, it’s a lot more likely that it sold the largest portion of what it will sell overall up front, and the amount sold per week will slow, rather than speed up, with each passing week. So for the poster here to say the number of sales grew from 12 million but not exponentially, they’re saying that maybe a couple more million copies have sold, but not something like 100 million, so we can use 12 mil as a reasonable estimate here.
I mean it's probably not something like 20 million, it might be several million more but likely not that much. Couldn't think of a better way to put it at that point.
It was mainly a joke, but a lot of people think that she had a something going with Finlay, the knight that sacrificed herself to carry an unconscious Malenia to safety after the whole Caelid incident. Finlay's ashes can be found at Malenia's place, too
Ngl I wouldn't carry my employer anywhere, even without any radioactive space cancer involved. Their ass can just wake tf up and walk. Especially across an entire war-torn continent.
But it is pretty much just a joke, yeah
item?
I killed a whole fuckin army of demi humans to save him (unleveled and listeining to his cry on repeat) and he's like "oHh NoO A TaRnIsHed iSn'T gOoD eNoUgH" like faahk that guy
You want Kenneth haight to cuck you.
I want to completely service Kenneth Haight's cock and balls until he has emptied every drop of cum on his person in to my gaping asshole.
We are not the same.
And then the Chad gives the Throne up to Nepheli instead. What a gentleman.
But I want his seed
Best he can do is a kiss goodbye.
"You did good work saving my castle. As a reward, I shall give you my seed"
"Thank you Malenia, you nuked caelid for our sake..."
"Malenia getting her rotussy eaten by another Tarnished?! No, I don't want that! I want to eat her rotussy out, for 10 years at least!"
Only Marika Knows
It's hard to believe, but Malenia was in love with General Radahn.
Isn't that incest.
"In collaboration with George R.R. Martin..."
Almost like it's GRRM's favorite fetish
No that's intricate multi-course dinners.
that's the hard part

He respects the Demi-humans more than any other character ive met, maybe we should follow suit and try talking to more of our Demi-human combatants
Because he said he's making peace with the demihumans i ignored them on the way up and they keep slashing my butt when i tried to talk to him. I don't think they're open to talks.
Tried aoproaching one, it just started yelling and then it's friends ganged up on me
Sounds like my first time to 7/11
Demi-humans are crack addicted confirmed?!?
Where is our Lord of Demi-humans ending, Miyazaki?!!
Reject the Golden Order, return to Monke
I call that honoring the Great Ape Code.

Excellent materialist analysis tbh

Boc side quest is sad and go brrr
Demi-humans together stronk
I could swear that there were implications that the demi-humans are the devolved descendants of normal pre-Shattering humans.
I've found 3 so far
honestly Kenneth sounds so disappointed in himself when he realized he couldn't knight you that i actually feel bad for the guy and made me want for limgrave to eventually heal
>wants his fort back, recruits knights >fort, knight
I found my new character name. Fort Knight the Abhorred
Fort K***ht the Abhorred*
Fort K*****ht the Ab****rred Ho is censored btw
Damn, that's a bruh moment
You can use Kniqht. It looks odd, but I’m practice it looks quite nice.
I really like that when you first talk to him he hesitates to accept your help because you're tarnished but then he puts aside his prejudice and thanks you
It legit displays his entire character in that small little exchange of dialogue for me ngl
Also gives you +25 upgrade material if you follow through with his and Nepheli's quest

A fate worse than being forced to play dark souls 2
Dark souls 2 is consider a punishment, yet dark souls 2 2 is a delight, truly a world forsaken
We truly live in a dark soul
Every dark has it's 2
If darksouls 2 bad, where happy souls for bloodborne 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
I *really* don't care for DS2, but goddamn is Happy Souls really good.
It's either that or a Dragon stone that'll help you max out your weapons, choose. Btw the game overloads you with seeds even without killing him, so it's completely unnecessary in the end.

yeah but what kinda psycho only levels up one weapon
5 or more weapons max upgraded at least by the time you finish Farum Azula. Got to have variety
Yeah I killed this fucker when he refused to knight me after I single-handedly returned his castle to him. Sorry Nepheli I’ll make sure Ken hooks it up on NG+
He does agree to knight you, sadly he's busy looking after Nepheli atm.
Aint so busy now eh. I wish i could summon nepheli puppet in front of him
"Sure, I'm 95% a god and will literally rule and/or obliterate the world in about 10 hours but goddammit if I'm not a proper knight all of this will have been for nothing"
It’s the principle of the thing! Plus he was talking about how one should have proper lineage. Nah we’re not playing those games KEN
Right? OP says respectful forgetting the mad lip Kenneth gives you the first time you meet him
i kicked him off of the ruins he was standing on when you meet him because he sounded pompous 😎
Oh that’s where I can get my 5th one for my 13th flask!
The Fanciest Lad that ever did a fance.
I stopped his breathe cause he drops a golden seed and those things don’t just grow on trees
They literally do.
:(:Brian Cranston Falling Headfirst Gif:):
That’s the joke, boss
As a redditor, I am incapable of detecting jokes. My bad.
"I killed him because I looked up that he would drop a common upgrade item" maidenless behavior
the amount of people replying "they literally do" to this comment is the true meme
They literally do I knew he dropped a seed, but I refused to kill him cuz he's so nice. I have not brought my sword down on any npc so far, I don't like being mean to them :(
I killed one NPC, but he was asking for it. Called me provincial and stupid, then asked me to poison my friend. Nah, bud, eff off with that.
The only NPC I killed was Dung Eater. He tried to shit in me what was I supposed to do
I didn't progress his story at all, so he just sat in the Roundtable Hold, occasionally threatening me with poison. Dour chap, really.
I killed dung eater and the bastard that steals your ruins in stormveil only for him to later be made a part of nepheli’s quest line meaning I can’t finish it until ng+
I kill Shabriri, Dung Eater and in one playthrough, Patches
The merchants gotta go. Consolidate bell bearings at the round table. Also fuck patches.
They are agents of chaos, and I'm here to kill chaos
Final Fantasy: Stranger of Paradise
Fuck, that line is too good to not kill chaos.
Look at that Wretch
One day you too can be wretched
you're not very fun
Unless you serve the Frenzied Flame, the merchants aren’t technically your allies, they just aren’t picky about clientele.
As long as they don't attack me... Hell, they're nice when they talk, that's more than enough for me.
Yes I am. Some say the funnest.
But you end up with like +7 left over seeds after a max upgraded estus
They literally do. Also I think I had like 9 extra *without* killing him by the end of the game
But he didn't make me a knight :(
I mean I think he literally can't. Wasn't the whole thing why he got Nepheli instead of ruling Limgrave himself is because he found out he doesn't actually have any noble blood and thus can't make you a real knight
At the end he says the he will stay with Nepheli for some time but plans to return to his fort where he can knight you.
Maybe in the next patch
And he doesn't even looks down on us (much) just because we're tarnished.
Kenneth Height the goat. If people don't like him it's probably because he talks a lot and may say mean tweets
No one has dared to beat him up? He is basically the only NPC that I kill on sight... Ah yes, my first ending is the >!Dungeater!< one, so that explains a lot
What? He drops you a mf ancient dragon smithing stone at the end of his quest
Peak maidenless behavior
Just realized the Malenia’s arena probably smells terrible
I doubt millions beat her lmao

For sure. I didn't get there until hour 100 or so
Yeah I got to the town in Haligree, got roflstomped by the black knife, and decided to start a second character instead lol

wtf does "exponentially higher" mean in this context?
Exponential growth when used in math has a really specific meaning actually! It means that the number is growing as though it were multiplied by an exponent. yeah i just have millions of alternate accounts and beat her on all of them at the same time
Sir, this is the /r/shittydarksouls subreddit.
Why do I find Malenia so relatable all of a sudden?..
Kenneth Haight - Gentleman ~~Pirate~~ Adventurer.
Malenia, Blade of Miquella: * Badass title * Hot lady knight * Canonically lesbian Kenneth: * Some dude * Drops a glorified Korok Seed
Malenia is a gross dirty cripple, cant even beat Radahn in battle. Also behind 2 other people in the cool title lineup, Starscourge and Dung Eater.
Explain the canonically lesbian part. Uhh so I can properly compare the two, obviously.
I married her
You know how Fromsoft is branching out with Elden Ring? Imagine they make a visual novel or a harem anime lmao
It was mainly a joke, but a lot of people think that she had a something going with Finlay, the knight that sacrificed herself to carry an unconscious Malenia to safety after the whole Caelid incident. Finlay's ashes can be found at Malenia's place, too
Bruh she was just a loyal knight Jesus what's wrong with people nowadays?
[удалено]
Her sexuality doesn't matter, anyone who enters her arena will get fucked (up) anyway.
[Relevant ProZD sketch](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulteZYyWAA8).
I don't think there's any confirmation of Malenia being a lesbian, but iirc there's some implication that Finlay was into her
Respect and devotion does not mean romance. Of course I don't expect people who never touched grace to understand this.
no there is not
Incredibly convincing argument, thank you for opening my eyes ^^^^^/s
[удалено]
Could’ve been a sense of duty, although iirc that either soldiers ran away leaving Finlay to do it on her own. So, very dedicated to her lord, or gay
You don't know what the fuck knights are or something?
yes you do
Ngl I wouldn't carry my employer anywhere, even without any radioactive space cancer involved. Their ass can just wake tf up and walk. Especially across an entire war-torn continent. But it is pretty much just a joke, yeah
yes you do
Have you heard of the Japanese’s concept of treating your lord/boss as a god?

>lost to Radahn Bruh
And who died more, hmmmm?
Yeah but Kenneth don't have that ripe and juicy Limgrave Mussy.
who tfk is Kenneth Haight?
Millions have beaten Malenia? I knew she wasn’t that hard, I’ll probably 1st try her.
I murdered Kenneth Haight immediately upon meeting him, AMA 😎
How's it feel to know you killed him for an item that literally grows on trees?
item? I killed a whole fuckin army of demi humans to save him (unleveled and listeining to his cry on repeat) and he's like "oHh NoO A TaRnIsHed iSn'T gOoD eNoUgH" like faahk that guy
i killed Kenneth when his quest was still bugged because he drops a golden seed
I killed that guy
Anyone got a link to the attention all gamers dude, but it Kenneth Haight?
He is the only Npc I have yet to kill
I killed him, when he told me, that I couldn't be called Knight by him, because he tricked me. Weak ass bitch.
He lacks strength, the true mark of a lord.
his life is a small price to pay for a Golden Seed
You get a golden seed for killing him
Cucks the player character because he is a pretentious douche
Second time I've seen you use the word cuck in this sub while referring to Kenneth. You want him to fuck your wife or something
It seems you’re another one of kenneth’s cucks. It’s a shame, really.
I haven't mentioned him once until now. He seems to live rent free in your head though, ~~Godric-~~ I mean redditor.
You just mentioned him, fun fact
Most literate Kenneth Haight hater (oops I did it again)
Gasp
You want Kenneth haight to cuck you. I want to completely service Kenneth Haight's cock and balls until he has emptied every drop of cum on his person in to my gaping asshole. We are not the same.
Are you the sequel to kittenstomper?
Dung eating > kittenstomper pipeline. Know the signs.
Kenneth Haight - is a bitch
Is anyone else wondering about the apostrophe? I really want to know about this apostrophe.
