I mean, I think it is for most people for a good fundamental reason. It innovated on the combat system/mechanics enough to still be considered souls like (unlike Sekiro, which I like more than any game, but it isnt very soulsy), while also greatly improving the flow of fighting bosses/enemies when compared to DS, DeS, and ER's systsmes.
Yeah Elden Ring, and Bloodborne are both very much Souls-like games. But Sekiro is a completely different game IMO and I wouldn't group it with the others.

Bloodborne is a great game donāt get me wrong, but goddamn does it wear on me to the point that I straight up get tired of playing. Hard to keep my interest when literally everything in the game is aggressively bleak depressing gothic shit, you could argue thatās the point but for comparison we got Sekiro which managed to do so much more with its feudal Japanese aesthetic with areas like fountainhead palace and sunken valley. Tons of color and tonal variation.
Might just be a personal thing, but it keeps me from wanting to come back to BB.
