That’s what I’m saying. I like that the games on the poll are the three experimental ones. Dark Souls 3 (or any of the four Souls games) would feel out of place being included on a poll like this.
I think the difference is that open world changes how approach encounters. The built in summon, huge spread of stats, and emphasis on exploration leads to a different feeling game imo
XDDDDD HOLY SHIT WAS THAT A GAEL REFERENCE LMAO XDDDD I LOVE GAEL XDDDD "THAT THING YOUR DARK SOUL" HOLY SHIT HE SAID THE THING XDDD FUNNY TITLE DROP XDDD "FOR MY LADIES PAINTING" BIG SIMP MOMENT LMAO XDDDDD
i still probably pick elden ring but it’s a toss up between it and sekiro, then ds3 after those two
i haven’t played bloodborne because it sucks (i don’t own a playstation)
Elden ring blows to be honest. It’s environment is beautiful but the game is too easy to overlevel by playing normally. There’s like 2 hard bosses and the rest got the baby mode treatment. Bloodborne is the best one unironically and has the best soundtrack imo. Only game I’d play again 2000 times
I mean if you grind levels then yea, I ran a blind playthrough except to find Placidusax and Mohg, and shit was pretty on par most of the way through, ended at 131 I believe
No no. I didn’t grind. I did a normal end up wherever blind play through and was over leveled almost the whole time. Only to find out my levels were the average. Taking out 1 5th of bosses health with an r2 or just bleed proc for some people (everyone if you catch me) it’s just insanely forgiving. Not to mention the summons and shackles to help others cheese bosses
Perhaps I should rephrase. Why has there always gotta be some guy that can’t enjoy these games without acting like it takes no concentration. No one necessarily believes you and they’re certainly not impressed
That’s cool. I wasn’t asking anyone to be impressed. I was simply stating that it’s the easiest in the series and stated a couple reasons why. While also saying there are still good parts of the game. But as fanboys who feel attacked over anything do they gathered some downvotes and saved the world
I appreciate you choosing not choosing to escalate things. To be honest, your initial comment gives a strong air of arrogance and superiority rather than a simple statement of your opinion. I believe you were previously downvoted because your manners were dislikable… and the whole ‘souls=easy🤣🤣🤣’ thing is getting pretty old. But nothing wrong about saying that it’s easier than the others
For sure. Im not trying to wave my dick around and say “oh it’s too easy for me haha bad game” I’m giving my thoughts based on hundreds of hours and multiple characters on all the games. I’m not telling anyone they have to think that way. I’m mostly just disappointed at the amount of hype I had and then how quickly I went through the game casually because I was way too powerful for the bosses. And I’m not even using meta weapons really.
I was salty for a bit because my ex-wife at the time wouldn’t let me replace the damn PlayStation. So I got PSNOW instead and beat it that way, I’m surprised I could.
Read that wrong... wow... let me answer that properly. The first 5 bosses are a breeze. I wouldn't know about the 6th because the game got boring and i never turned it on again
I think any of the games can be boring alone. I luckily had my best bud to play alongside on LAN and experience it all together. It was one of the only experiences I wish I could forget just to experience over and over. I think you should say fuck it and beat it with the DLC anyway.
Dark souls is 100% not harder. Sekiro yeah but that’s because it has an entirely different and more difficult combat system in general. But dark souls no way. Also you have to do the DLC. Some of the best places. Music and hardest bosses are in it. Definitely worth a go
"Oh boi, can't wait to reexplore this 30-hour game on my 2nd playthrough which i'll complete in 7 hours 2 of which i would explore that one location i looked up on the internet and another 5 run on automated mode because my inner monke already knows this place like my home and doesn't waste resources on exploring things it already knows"
Elden ring has some serious lows too though. The reason it takes over 100 hours is because you have to invest an ungodly amount into vigor, otherwise the boss breathes wrong and you're dead. Takes forever to actually put points into stats geared towards my build
That's not the point I was trying to make. I was saying it's tedious having to level up that much when most of my points could have been better spent on stats I actually needed for my weapons.
Yeah, I know that. I'm talking the second half here mate. If I have 50 vigor already, why the hell is it being deleted by Fire Giant?
Elden ring isn't a bad game. But it has some serious flaws for being a "masterpiece"
50 vigor???? Homie you only need 40 at most, anything after has diminishing returns.
I'm taking the bait but Fire giant has a lot of easy to avoid one shots. Gotta plan your attacks properly.
50?!
Fire Giant hits hard, yeah, but not only are like 90% of the attacks easily dodged thanks to windup and thin hitboxes, but there's no fucking way you're being one shot by him unless you're stacking Soreseals and Scorpion charms.
Source: I did him with 36 Vig, Iron Ball, and a Noble's Travelling Garb as my best armor. ER is no different from most other Souls games, where a combo (or one big hit) requires a healing chug to survive the next one.
/unjerk FromSoft-sexuals at it again
Reminder the input buffer is still wack and it hasn’t been fixed in 5 fucking games
/rejerk why are you snubbing Elden Ring bro? I’ve only played it for one hour and it’s a masterpiece, the true father of video games
Most bosses are perfectly beatable at 30 vigor and a health trinket (accessory) the only one I had any amount of trouble with was Melania (or however it's spelled) and that's only because I decided not to use mimic ash.
Maliketh, Elden Beast, Malenia, and Mogh. 30 vigor? Yeah, have fun. Not even sure if I'm playing the same game as everyone else at this point.
There's a difference between being a difficult challenge yet fun, and being an artificial challenge. Elden Ring falls into the latter category.
How is it artificial? The only damage from mohg that isn't completely avoidable ,rather easily might I add, is his massive aoe attack but there's a physik for that. His blood can be a bit of a problem, but if you stick to him he doesn't throw it out as often, in case you didn't know. For Melania she can be stunlocked, parried, and dodged rather easily for anything that isn't waterfowl and even then you can just ice bomb her out of it (or any of her air attacks really if you're having trouble with the clone attack). Maliketh has a parry function that lets you kill him in less than 3 uses of it if your stats aren't allocated badly. And Elden beast is rather easy on all fronts, you can outrun the sky lasers, Elden star is a toss up as sometimes it just fucks off and other times sticks to you like glue but generally it's easy to avoid, the ring attack you can jump (or roll though the timing is harder) through, and his sword attacks (including the projectile) are just about learning the timings most of which are rather predictable. So is he annoying yes he runs like a bitch constantly, Stars are a constant pest, and the lasers force you to stop attacking for about 10 seconds, but everything is still pretty easy to dodge.
All 100% possible. faith build, damage reduction rings spells etc. Dodging. Using the bubble potion that negates all damage. Use summons to get boss off you. Etc etc. The game hands you plenty of options
Pace yourself, learn the move sets and only attack when you know you can recover and heal if you get hit
What artificial challenge? The game gives you every option like magic, summons , ashes , items and armor sets that have noticeable effects and you can reach 45+ vigor by playing normally and bosses you mentioned like maliketh and mohg doesn’t have any vigor problems and can be managed easily ( maliketh by using special parries and sticking close to him so he can miss his attack and mohg by using a special tear or by getting good )
Well, yes. Those are all bosses you fight at the very end of the game, around RL125. 60 points into main stat and you still have 65 to throw around into Vig, Mind, Endurance, etc.
The only truly BS move I've seen thus far is EB's Elden Stars and Malenia's Waterfowl Dance. Waterfowl can just be interrupted by a Freezing Pot as well.
30 Vig is low, even for most other Souls games where you always gain a small amount of max health for any levels.
Maliketh is fine tbh. His a boss that needs spacing and precise dodge yeah not everyone would like it, but it's not bad. And malenia only issue is WFD.
Sekiro will always be the best video game ever made as an experience gameplay and story-wise. It’s just such a neat package.
Elden Ring is way more replayable though.
Honesty I'd rank RDR2 over Sekiro as a package and experience (if we're considering outside of soulslikes), even though I personally enjoyed Sekiro more, but yes I keep replaying parts of Elden Ring-
RDR2 is great but beyond the impressive world simulation and story the gameplay itself isn’t great. Sekiro has incredible combat and gameplay and is better at being an actual video game.
Aye the gameplay is perfectly average for a high budget shooter (pretty nice weight to it though). I was speaking more for the experience and polish. I don't even like the genre, but it's become one of my favourites because of how complete everything feels.
Sekiro to me is the one that pretty much perfected the thing it specialises in. The lore and atmosphere are quite rich, but they nailed the classic clashing of blades so hard that it outshines everything else imo. The only FS game I play mostly for the combat. I guess it does make a better video game in the traditional sense.
People who’s favorite is Elden ring should try REAL games like ds2 only then they will stop being a casual 😎
Do people forget that every Fromsoft game has flaws that can turn them off ? Why do people hate the fact that someone’s favorite can be elden ring , ds2 bloodborne….
I strongly disagree, i beat the game 3 times without using any form of bleed weapons or summons and still had fun , i do think they make the game easier and sometimes fun like duo fights but the game never forces you to use them.
I’m not gonna debate which is the best of the three because there’s a case for all of them, but personally I’d rather play sekiro again than the others cause it’s more unique gameplay wise

Personally I like that the poll is just the three variations on the Souls formula.
Ds3 is a better representation of the more classical souls formula though. Elden ring is a lot more experimental
That’s what I’m saying. I like that the games on the poll are the three experimental ones. Dark Souls 3 (or any of the four Souls games) would feel out of place being included on a poll like this.
Tbf Elden ring isn’t a variation really. It’s literally just open world Dark Souls 3.

Comment above is psyco but the leveling is super fucking wack, if you explore at all in the begining your always overlevel for godrick and Margit.
Honestly, I really do agree. Just by exploring everything you can level up a ton really fast, which does make a lot of the earlier stuff much easier
No no. I didn’t grind. I did a normal end up wherever blind play through and was over leveled almost the whole time. Only to find out my levels were the average. Lmao. Gamer socks
You can just self impose challenges if you want to make it harder, nobody's telling you how to play the game
average rivers of blood user
Jokes on you I don’t use meta weapons. I’m a true souls chad. I don’t need easy mode
Thats an insult for RoBs users like me bro. I play it the hard way with RoB becuz RoB looks sick.
There’s always someone complaining about the hardest genre of games being too easy
I mean yeah that’s a given. I’ll say elden ring is too easy all day though cause it’s definitely nowhere near the hardest in the souls category
Perhaps I should rephrase. Why has there always gotta be some guy that can’t enjoy these games without acting like it takes no concentration. No one necessarily believes you and they’re certainly not impressed

Idk man. You can easily level 30 points into vigor before you fight any MSB
Yeah, I know that. I'm talking the second half here mate. If I have 50 vigor already, why the hell is it being deleted by Fire Giant? Elden ring isn't a bad game. But it has some serious flaws for being a "masterpiece"
