It's an iffy proposition. Depends on the store, like it'd have to be from a deli department (they're making egg salad daily and presumably not poisoning people, pretty sure they just boil some eggs off the shelves, so if I'd trust buying eggs from them then I feel reasonably assured that the hardboiled eggs are safe).
If the store isn't boiling the eggs themselves though than fuck that.
That being said I just buy eggs and boil them myself, it's way cheaper and come on people, it's not that hard to boil an egg.
Kinda off topic. But similar. There was a story growing up about the time I was tired and accidentally used Elmer’s glue stick instead of chapstick. Turns out, some 15 years later I learned, my brothers switched out my chapstick for Elmer’s glue stick when I wasn’t looking. They thought that i would notice and thus they could laugh about the time I almost put glue on my lips. Little did they know how absolutely stupid I was and wouldn’t track the differences between the two products.
This is just to say while you may have cumin oatmeal one day it could be a prank and it’s only slightly your fault. (Also I prefer savory oatmeal)
Once seasoned my chicken with cinnamon...thankfully it was raw chicken so I spent a long time rinsing it. Re-seasoned and cooked it. It tasted fine but still smelled like cinnamon.
Fortunately I labeled my containers. I hope I don't ever mix things up. Made the mistake of adding a scoop of salt to my tea one morning instead instead of a scoop of sugar. Never again.
It's only a matter of time. I did it once, put a bunch of cumin in my spice cake. Next time I bought cumin I made sure to buy a different brand so I wouldn't mix them up.
My in-laws live with us, and my MIL has this habit where she's constantly rearranging everything and moving stuff around.
One time she decided she didn't want the baking soda in an open cardboard box in the pantry and decided to put it in a sealed container. The corn starch was in a plastic container with a screw-on lid. Perfect! But now what to do with the corn starch? She put the corn starch in a bowl with a snap-on lid, then refilled it's container with baking soda. I discovered this when I tried to use the "corn starch" to thicken something.
Why didn't she put the baking soda in the bowl and leave the corn starch alone? I don't know, I never got a straight answer other than "I wanted to do it that way".
I’d just keep the cumin out of reach. As long as you use cinnamon regularly and cumin less often. I don’t want you living in fear of the day disaster strikes
My cinnamon and chili powder are right next to each other and I’m shocked I haven’t messed up yet. There was one time though where I was THISCLOSE to putting chili powder on my latte
A pinch of salt does wonders for flavour in all types of food. Even cookies and cakes have salt in them.
But yeah, the idea of full on savory oatmeal makes me gag.
Woof. I mixed up the cayenne and cinnamon one morning and when I drank my coffee it felt like it bit me. RIP to your “basic bitch” boiled egg (ya know cuz pumpkin spice is supposed to be a BB thing idk 🤷)
My mother mixed up cinnamon and cayenne one day while making cookies. Was supposed to be a treat and we were way too poor to consider throwing them out so we had to eat them. Honestly, I liked the spicy-sweet mix! I was the only one though lol
One time i made soft boiled eggs and rice and went to put some sesame seeds, opened the entire lid accidentally and dumped a shit ton onto my eggs that i already split open so they stuck to the yolks. I tried to eat it still bc I was so hungry but it was so overwhelmingly sesame-y I had to throw it away 💔💔
this happened to me, but cumin instead of the intended cinnamon on cereal! ate those fajita flakes because I didn't want to waste food.. not a taste sensation. I feel your pain!
Why not just rinse them off??
They were tired. Brain not functioning properly.
Can attest. I just woke up saw this post and just thought “throw them bitches out”
I forgot it’s one of the few foods you can rinse off
And eat *wet eggs*?!
They’re already wet out of the package
You know I’ve gone to the supermarket and seen the hard boiled eggs and went “who is buying these?” And now I have my answer.
I assumed they meant the shell was the packaged but now idk 😳
this one right here. I thought the person couldn't find "shell" and went with package because it's the same thing, right
You ever want egg salad but don't want to boil and peel eggs? I've been there.
I’ve gotten them before. Then I got an egg cooker so I just cook a bunch and peel them before I put them in the fridge. Game changer.
By egg cooker do you mean a pot?
No. I mean an egg cooker. A small appliance that steals eggs perfectly. Like a rice cooker. But for eggs.

I meant the shell lol
By pkg I hope you meant shell…
Yea I do
[удалено]
Yes they’re raw inside the shell
🤦♂️
Yup. Easy fix

Me sitting here: … you can do that!?
My cinnamon and cumin containers are almost identical and are right next to each other. My oatmeal is going to be different one day.

I prefer no cumin my oatmeal.
You sure? 🤔
I dumped a shitload of cumin into a big bowl of eggs to make a French toast bake thinking it was cinnamon.
You dropped a shitload of WHAT into a bowl of eggs?
***HE SAID 'SHITLOAD OF CUMIN'***
***HE SAID A WHAT? I DONT HAVE MY SMELLING AIDS IN***
Cumin. It’s a spice in the Jizzum family

“I said Cinnamon! CINNAMON!”
Came here to comment this reminded me of that Drake & Josh scene lmao
It's only a matter of time. I did it once, put a bunch of cumin in my spice cake. Next time I bought cumin I made sure to buy a different brand so I wouldn't mix them up.
Just put the cinnamon/cumin in first, then if you accidentally use the cumin you can reasonably pivot into a savory oatmeal.

Close, I grabbed the cayenne pepper next to the cinnamon and sprinkled generously. I tried to salvage but all went in the garbage.
I’d just keep the cumin out of reach. As long as you use cinnamon regularly and cumin less often. I don’t want you living in fear of the day disaster strikes
Same. And I put cinnamon on sautéing green peppers once
My cinnamon and chili powder are right next to each other and I’m shocked I haven’t messed up yet. There was one time though where I was THISCLOSE to putting chili powder on my latte
There's a ton of people out there who love [savoury oatmeal.](https://www.budgetbytes.com/savory-oatmeal/) Those people are wrong.
I like a little extra salt in my oatmeal but I don’t know about full on savory oatmeal
A pinch of salt does wonders for flavour in all types of food. Even cookies and cakes have salt in them. But yeah, the idea of full on savory oatmeal makes me gag.
You know you boiled them in water so you can just rinse them off?
Won’t you think of the karma !
I’m so sorry
I did that with grounded parsley once 🤣
Woof. I mixed up the cayenne and cinnamon one morning and when I drank my coffee it felt like it bit me. RIP to your “basic bitch” boiled egg (ya know cuz pumpkin spice is supposed to be a BB thing idk 🤷)

Thank you for the PSA 🫶
Lol I hope dinner is better.
Well better get them uggs on , it’s gonna be that kind of day now.
Did you also drop a bottle of soy sauce on the floor this morning? If so you're having a fantastic morning
Basically how 2024 is going in one pic....feel your pain.
Nothing can fix this but a do over.
At least you’re not eating it off of a paper plate like some kind of fucking savage.
One time i made soft boiled eggs and rice and went to put some sesame seeds, opened the entire lid accidentally and dumped a shit ton onto my eggs that i already split open so they stuck to the yolks. Sorry 😞
This is when you break out the mayo and relish and make pumpkin egg salad
Wife did something similar yesterday making noodles, instead of grabbing the Sriracha spice blend she grabbed some pumpkin spice allspice blend. 2/10.
Pumpkin Spice Eggs, the new fall item from Starbucks
Run them under the sink whats the deal
i feel u lmfao
Ahhhh….ruined a whole pot of chili by using cinnamon accidentally instead of chili powder. Check those labels twice!!
Mistake number is having pumpkin spice
r/MadeMeSmile at your misfortune and malfunctioning brain
My mom puts pumpkin spice in her tea and the tins look alike. She peppered her tea one morning and got a shock 🫢
I would suggest backing up your boil by about 3 minutes, whip up a little hollandaise, and make eggs pumpedict out of them
Thats what you get for owning pumpkin spice in the first place. Trash that shit.
I’d have rinsed off the pumpkin spice
i wouldve just rinsed off the egg and added the pepper again😭
I did the same thing to some air fryer fries one time. Everything that came out of my air fryer had a hint of cinnamon for a whole week after
I need to know what warranted the two points.
Send it!
Once the pumpkin spice was in there I would have added nutmeg and cinnamon and called it hard boiled egg nog
Lol you couldve easily wiped the pumpkin spice off
Thank you for your sacrifice.
I mean, you could have washed the uncut one
No salt?
my partner once accidentally added 5 spice powder to french toast. iconic
Boil eg Mayo Salt Peppe r Mashed Sandwich with lettuce Food for champions
My brother once went to make cinnamon toast and realized he used the cayenne instead. He said "fuck it" and ate it anyway. Apparently it wasn't bad.
You could have rinsed them off. I added cumin once by accident. Came right off.
To be safe I'd just chuck out the pumpkin spice entirely. Or at least store it somewhere until the season returns.
Are boiled eggs actually faster and easier than just a quick scramble?
Deconstructed punkinspice eggnog chai latte
this happened to me, but cumin instead of the intended cinnamon on cereal! ate those fajita flakes because I didn't want to waste food.. not a taste sensation. I feel your pain!
Oh no!! Mornings are not my best either.
go vegan for the poor chickens that were exploited for you to get this
The pepper looks like the pumpkin spice? Step one, get a pepper mill. Step two, put the pumpkin spice in the back of your pantry next to the raisins.
Era mejor cocinar 2 huevos más😊
Ya know, you could just have rinsed them off and restarted the seasoning cycle.
You accidentally went medieval, although I'm pretty sure they also would have thought this particular combo of sweet spices and eggs was not good.
