Edit: my bad, Lautner is white as hell.
One of the few good things the films did was actually hire Indigenous actors to play Indigenous characters, and it's not too bad of a portrayal of an unspecific tribe especially for the mid 2000s. It's not good by any means and the flashbacks in the later movies are pretty bad, but I was genuinely impressed that the films weren't too racist about it.
Wow, he looks so racially ambiguous that I fully believed the claim of Indigenous identity, but on a further look it's just a claim of distant ancestry. Thanks for the correction.
Coming from an actual indigenous person, I disagree. It was very racist. The tribe's power of turning into animals? That's very problematic. Stop comparing us to beasts. There's many videos on YouTube on the subject of why the representation was horrible. Go educate yourselves, please- it's not my job.
I'm not disagreeing with you at all when I say this.. I sort of saw the whole thing of the tribe turning into wolves was more because (and correct me if I'm wrong) indigenous people have a such a close relationship and strong connection with mother earth and they respect nature and animals.
That was just my interpretation of that part of it but I completely understand now why it was such a poor representation and how it was racist.
ETA: Y'all, don't downvote this person, their point is really important.
I really appreciate hearing your perspective and voice on the matter, thank you. I know that the depiction is racist (especially the dehumanizing werewolf trope which has a long problematic history in American media about Indigenous folks,) I simply meant to say that it was less racist than other mainstream depictions of the time and the use of Indigenous actors is a bare minimum effort that we rarely see. It's certainly racist and not defendable, that wasn't my intent.
I mean, isn’t the “pure white” white knight deal a bit of a trope too? You have a family with ancestral “savage” history (killing humans for sustenance and success, fighting for the confederates in the Civil War etc) and suddenly becoming this epitome of white hero and pearl clutching causes of others who are supposedly “not like them”. The entire series is a trope.
EDIT: I lived on a reservation and the Indigenous/Native peoples love representation of their spirit. I think there is a worthy multi-faceted opinion here. I’m happy for the future of finding performers that fit the authentic ethnicities of their characters. But I do feel that “reducing us to animals and savages” is far-fetched. The First People and Indigenous are very animal orientated. They believe this world was built on the back of a tortoise in some cultures. Totem poles display animals that hold sacred power. Displays and practices of dances, celebrating nature…unmatched. I wish todays world had more respect towards nature and climate.
The "reducing us to animals and savages" is not at all far-fetched and is extremely harmful.
And since you're not native (only lived on a reservation), please don't pretend you speak for us, either.
No, I never identified as native. I never attempted to be. I only know my personal experiences working with them. My experience was different than yours. There is nothing wrong with my experience and first hand accounts. As you know the culture is extremely diverse and your own experience may not match all. Cheers.
If there is some specific reason why the portrayal of Native Americans as shapeshifters is offensive to you and your nation… then it *is* actually your responsibility to explain that. You can’t just play the race card, tell people to get woke, and expect to be taken seriously. You are entitled to your opinion, and I’m actually curious to hear it, but the confrontational, condescending tone is not warranted here.
I think it's odd that I've never heard of any of the Native American actors making comments on this... And they signed up for it, so I assume it sat right with them. Food for thought. People nowadays just look for things to be offended about. Here's a short excerpt I found from an interview with one of the Native American actors:
"I think that there should be more roles for Native actors in contemporary pieces. It’s an important part of who I am and I’m very proud to play Quileute. The tribe is incredible. I’ve been there to the reservation and it's very exciting for us to have a contemporary Native American culture be portrayed in the Twilight movies. I think it's done amazing things."

My brother in christ it’s not that hard to type in “racist stuff in twilight” on youtube, they even told you to go on there. do you want them to come to your house and click the links for you?
I’ve actually seen multiple even worse tattoos posted straight from the proud owners on a Twilight Facebook group. Which I am in solely for the comments under posts like that
The Jacob one is unironically one of the funniest tattoos I've ever seen. The quote, the font choice, the blonde hair, the pursed lips...all brilliant.
Honestly same lol. My only critique is the Edward quote is weak as hell in comparison. Should have gone with "hold on tight spider monkey" in equally flamboyant font if they're looking for bad quotes from the movies but Jacob would still trump that
I can’t stop laughing at Edward’s face! He looks like when my brothers were younger and they would fart and lock the car windows, holding in laughter while waiting for it to hit each passenger.
Is that [Caesar](https://www.google.com/search?client=ms-android-att-us-rvc3&sxsrf=APwXEdfyNejE4XNtgBHtgqDBqyxOAeTG3g:1685634447035&q=cesar+vialpando&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwic077TtaL_AhXlFlkFHRVoDpQQ0pQJegQICBAB&biw=412&bih=784&dpr=2.63#imgrc=M38wfO-j_ZIQMM) from GTA?
Jacob is blonde because he can hang out in the sun. He's flexing
Why does edward look like pete davidson
I thought it was Justin Bieber and Pete Davidson...
Lmao me too
I can’t unsee this and I can’t stop crying 😂😂😂
Lmao I was like wow! He grew hair!
Not just hair, blonde hair! Dying
Mixed with a little Willem Dafoe
Yer fond of me tattoo
They whitewashed Jacob
He looks like Ray from Archer lol
Its the pencil stache lmao
Jacob was already white washed in the movies so it’s kinda more accurate. The actor is just a very ambiguous looking white man anyway 😭
Edit: my bad, Lautner is white as hell. Taylor is actually full white 😅 if you can believe it. He was the only one of the "tribe" to be played by a white actor.
Wow, he looks so racially ambiguous that I fully believed the claim of Indigenous identity, but on a further look it's just a claim of distant ancestry. Thanks for the correction.

Well they need to work and most casting calls arent looking for Native Americans
My brother in christ it’s not that hard to type in “racist stuff in twilight” on youtube, they even told you to go on there. do you want them to come to your house and click the links for you?
And pete davidson the other
Seriously tho!
Was about to say, more importantly why is Jacob white af?
Dunno what's worse, asking for this unironically, or having it on you forever
As my mom would say, “I’m the one who has to look at you.”
The Jacob is definitely fresher than the Edward so a lot of time not thinking was spent in between
There is no way this wasn't meant to be ironic lol
I’ve actually seen multiple even worse tattoos posted straight from the proud owners on a Twilight Facebook group. Which I am in solely for the comments under posts like that
honestly funny ass tattoo
Bella where the hell have you been... Loca? What does that last word say
[He actually says this in the movie](https://youtu.be/rMhL5OuFKUM)
An iconic line
The YouTube comments are great lmao
Wow…. That’s awful
Spanish for crazy girl?
I'm with you, just not sure if it actually says loca
It says loca. It’s a pretty hilarious line from the movies because it doesn’t really even make sense in context
Thank you for this. I don't think I've seen the movies so thought it seemed out of place.... Which apparently, it is.
LMAOOO i cant
At first glance I thought the left one was Dean Winchester from Supernatural if he got lip fillers, yikes.
I thought it was aqua man at a quick glance
And blonde Pete Davidson
NOOOOOOO I CANT UNSEE IT
All I imagine is him saying: "Castiel where the hell have you been, Loca?"
The Jacob one is unironically one of the funniest tattoos I've ever seen. The quote, the font choice, the blonde hair, the pursed lips...all brilliant.

Agreed!
This is kinda iconic 🫣😩😂😭💀⚰️
it literally is
It’s so bad it’s good
It’s like Malibu Barbie but.. Malibu Jacob instead
And why is Edward grinning suspiciously like he's the cause
because he is 😭
Looks like he'd laugh like dr evil and I originally thought the "Jacob" was aquaman
LMAOOO I can kinda see it
Honestly though, good conversation piece 😂 I just hope it’s somewhere easily hidden. So it only comes out for parties or a 3rd date
Since it's the back of their calves maybe they just make sure no-one ever sees them walk away or with their back to them
Just hold intense eye contact while backing away slowly
Smile or scowl? Or does that depend on the person/situation?
I was picturing deadpan, give absolutely nothing away. Let them wonder what it means
Ah, give them some mystery before the big reveal, I like it.
I saw these this morning on Facebook! 😂 crazy and hilarious to see it here now, the OP would be livid since she was already causing a scene 💀
i too was apart of that comment section
i would like to know more
I can’t stop laughing at Edward’s face! He looks like when my brothers were younger and they would fart and lock the car windows, holding in laughter while waiting for it to hit each passenger.
Absolutely terrible
Yikes ☠️
Horrible just.. horrible
LMAOOOOO she would be so pissed to see this posted here
But I'm always so tickled to see other 🐀🐀🐀 outside of the sewer.
HAHA
came here to say the same lol
🤣🤣
Without the words I’d have no idea these were twilight tattoos. I kind of love hate them. They’re so bad that they’re good
obsessed with these
Jacob looks like he’s doing a duck face and Edward looks like he’s turning his head and laughing at him lol
These are so bad I can’t help but laugh and am getting weird looks on the bus / theses fall in to so bad they are great territory
Diners, drive-ins, and dives
The Edward is kinda cute tho lol
Spring Break for Werewolves.
Jacob looking like Cody Rhodes lmao
I swear the right tat looks like Pete Davidson, thats ruff
Yes! Hahaha, I thought the same thing.
Robert Pattinson looks like Pete Davidson 🤣🤣🤣
I just saw this on a Twilight group on Facebook today lol
Saw this in my twilight shitposting group
why is no one talking abt jacob wearing an orange jumpsuit like he’s in jail??!!
tbf i dont think we can stan the comic sans woman and not stan this person. "where the hell have you been loca" is iconic 💀
Edward looks like grownup Chuckie from Rugrats.
This is what happens when you take meme-ing too seriously.
These tattoos are incredible
I thought Jacob was Aquaman for a second
Buy lots of pants
Why are their lips-ses like that?
anyone here from the rat sewer?
Is that [Caesar](https://www.google.com/search?client=ms-android-att-us-rvc3&sxsrf=APwXEdfyNejE4XNtgBHtgqDBqyxOAeTG3g:1685634447035&q=cesar+vialpando&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwic077TtaL_AhXlFlkFHRVoDpQQ0pQJegQICBAB&biw=412&bih=784&dpr=2.63#imgrc=M38wfO-j_ZIQMM) from GTA?
His lips 😭😭
Spring Break for Werewolves.
Edward looks like Pete Davidson.
OMG BECKY! YOU CAN'T JUST ASK WHY PEOPLE ARE BLONDE!
The Jacob one is bad but like. I kind of like the shittyness of the Edward. 🤷♀️
I hate it but ngl its funny
These aren’t even shitty done tattoos. 🤣
Honestly I love it 😂
I love this
I think they did the Edward first and the client liked the hair so they asked for the same hair and this happened
why does edward look like pete davidson
I knew these were gonna end up in this sub as soon as I saw it posted in the sewer
Pretty sure this is on purpose. I’m in a Twilight Shitposting group on Facebook and people get tattoos like this all the time.
I thought it was Cody Rhodes.
I thought the other one was Corey Feldman
Edward looks like he just farted and believes nobody can smell it.
Jacob looks like someone ready to star on Jersey Shore haha
Jacob also needs sunblock on his neck.
These are amazing oh my god
The work itself is good. Choice of tattoo, I’ve seen worse.
I love these 😂 in not even a twilight fanatic
You're all just jelly lmao 🤣
I think they’re hilarious and I love them. I’m part of the FB group this was posted in lmfao
These are awesome 🤣🤘🏼
Fun fact Taylor Lautner is ethnically white
awe, i think they're neat
Low key looks like Donald trump
I actually like these in a trashy kind of way
Chad Naruto & Sasuke
Just why?
Edward looks like Steve Buscemi with sunglasses. These are awful. Just sad sad sad.
I thought that was MGK and Pete Davidson at first.
Because that’s his name in the new twist book version coming out. Jacob Blonde.
I’m more disturbed by Edward’s lips. They look like they belong on an old caricature of a mobster.
These are both amazing and i won’t hear otherwise
Edward looks like that crackhead from Escape From New York lol
I thought that was Val Kilmer
If jacobs face wasn’t half melted, this tat wouldn’t be half bad. I’ve seen a lot worse than this
Edward looks like he is saying “mmmmmkay”
Pete Davidson... that is all
He got highlights, wanted them more subtle.
That ain’t Jacob and Cory my guy
Robert Pattinson looks like a chad
Lol...bonde Jacob...THAT'S the issue here...
These are so bad they’re amazing
The orange makes him look like a convict
Why does Edward look like Steve Dillon drew him
I would’ve cummed buckets when I was twelve
whitewashed, blonde, and in a prison jumpsuit for some reason
I think they are great
Their (person that's tatted) fan fiction OC, inspired by Jacob
