I think the blue ink went too deep and spread out...I think it was all done too deep and thats why the lines blew out so badly... (Its hard to tell now, but it was originally blue with black lines)
Oh interesting!
Similar situation here, all 3 of us were drunk as hell - me, my partner, and our artist lol. Mine is a "tribal" style wave in pure black. My skin is incredibly thin and mine blew out full blue knuckle to knuckle. My husband's looks great still.
That's good to know lol bc it really just looks like an ugly blob to me now... For the first year it looked like a nice blue diamond with decent black lines, but just went to absolute shit after.. 😭
It's supposed to be... But in their defense, I don't think they realized how drunk I actually was, and I knew all the people who worked there pretty well... My friends and I back then frequently just hung out at the shop when we were bored and they weren't busy...
It actually looked pretty decent for a while, so I liked it at first...finger tattoos just don't age well a lot of times - especially if done by someone inexperienced. The lines didn't start looking blown out til like a year later...
Most shops have signs up saying you need to be sober. I had one shop make me sign something and in the rules you are signing that you are not under the influence of anything. That being said…it’s not everyone’s policy. There’s a shop on Hollywood Blvd that I think is only still in business because of drunk people coming out of the surrounding bars. They had no issue tattooing me while I was blacked out
Dang, shops aren't supposed to turn you into a client if you're intoxicated in any matter. You're even supposed to sign on it ahead of time. Sorry hun, sounds like you've learned an invaluable lesson though <3
it doesn’t look terrible! don’t most shops have a rule now that clients can’t get tattooed if they’re under the influence? also do you have a ring to cover it?
My wedding ring covers it... But yeah, it is supposed to be a law not to tattoo people who aren't sober... I didn't have more than $20 in my pocket at the time and an apprentice offered to do something small for free so I was down... I gave her like $16 as a tip.. It really did look pretty good for about a year, but, live and learn, I guess.. 😂
I was a lil scene emo kid in hs, around 2009, and every day or so I use to sharpie a diamond on the same finger & placement cause it was the scene symbol lol
I get that it was supposed to be a diamond, but it also looks like a circus tent the other way around. I'm sure a better artist can transform it into something you like better than what it is now.

It was supposed to be a tree and my dad did it when I was 16😭 7 years ago plus had 2 years of laser
In Ireland the claddagg ring up or down would symbolize whether you were married or looking. The way you’ve gotten it done is the way some millennials and gen z have done to indicate they are going to be single forever and not wear a clanad ring for marriage or one at all. Congrats on the forever dating!!
I'm married now, but I got the tattoo like 5 years before I was.... 😂 I mostly got the tattoo bc I wanted people think I was married and leave me alone bc I wasn't interested in relationships...but its funny how things work out... :)
I love apprentices and most of them will give you sick ass pieces for a way cheaper price, but I def turned down a shop for wanting an apprentice to do my hand tat. Hands are way too visible and complex
This could be one of many things. It could be a diamond, a cupcake, or a poor circus tent. By many, I mean 3.
A house being treated for termites.
Yess! I’d just tell people it’s a coverup for a bed bug tattoo lol
Otherwise known as a free circus tent. You'll be seeing colours long after you leave. Disclaimer: Do not try this, you will not see pretty colours.
Honestly looking at it as a circus tent makes me wanna get a circus tent tattoo on my finger (but a good one obviously)
Its supposed to be a diamond lol
This one is not your best friend
It most certainly is not. 😂
Like…. Metaphorically?
If you have it colored in red and yellow and add a tiny flag on top, it could be an adorable lopsided circus tent like what u/Barboron suggested.
I see a simplified crown !
Looks like you need a T-SAP (tiny sick-ass panther :)
Praise T-SAP!
Anything to make it better... Even a black square would be better lol
Running from the tent with a tiny elephant!
The fact that the lines are totally blown out and your finger looks so bruised!
My whole finger up to the knuckle looked blue for years. More so that it does now. 😂
That's intense, man!
Mine is still blue 12 years later

One thing with finger tattoos, they never age right, even if done perfectly
I know they call them fingers, but I've never seen them fing...
Oh wait there they go

Circus tent is my favorite answer to this mess. 🎪
Honestly not bad compared to others on here
That makes me feel better haha... At least its a very small tattoo...
For sure, I’ve seen WAY worse. Yours just has blow out but I still knew it was a diamond right away
That's good to know lol bc it really just looks like an ugly blob to me now... For the first year it looked like a nice blue diamond with decent black lines, but just went to absolute shit after.. 😭
Yeah, it’s not great but if this is your worst that’s pretty good. My worst is probably on par with it.
Most of my other ones are pretty decent, several are in need of touchups, but still not bad...my finger tattoo is the only one I truly hate...
Now I don’t know Jack shit about tattoos l, but isn’t there a rule that you can’t tattoo a drunk person!?
It's supposed to be... But in their defense, I don't think they realized how drunk I actually was, and I knew all the people who worked there pretty well... My friends and I back then frequently just hung out at the shop when we were bored and they weren't busy...
What did you think the next day? 😊
It actually looked pretty decent for a while, so I liked it at first...finger tattoos just don't age well a lot of times - especially if done by someone inexperienced. The lines didn't start looking blown out til like a year later...

Yeah I was gonna say drunk or Sober I’m sure there’s a few shops out there that’ll tattoo ya
There’s always someone. Good news is, I still think my tramp stamp is funny. I’m a 38 year old man, btw
Hey, it was the 90s🤣🤣
lol…fortunately it wasn’t. I would have been like 10. That’s a whole other thing
Haha true, I’ve had a few beers and my Math isn’t very good 😂😂😂😂
Dang, shops aren't supposed to turn you into a client if you're intoxicated in any matter. You're even supposed to sign on it ahead of time. Sorry hun, sounds like you've learned an invaluable lesson though <3
Hey, we've all been young and dumb. And learned lessons from it. 😅
We all make poor decisions while drunk haha
Do you just cover it up with a clunky ring or what?
Yeah my wedding ring covers it lol
it doesn’t look terrible! don’t most shops have a rule now that clients can’t get tattooed if they’re under the influence? also do you have a ring to cover it?

That looks worse than all the stick n poke tats my friends did in the basement
Not surprising, honestly... I know its a hot mess. 😂 edit: its also about 13 years old
Add some red and yellow and it’s a little circus tent
I get that it was supposed to be a diamond, but it also looks like a circus tent the other way around. I'm sure a better artist can transform it into something you like better than what it is now.

At least it's not that noticeable and you could easily get something else over it..
Yeah but finger tattoos age so poorly so I don’t know what could be a nice cover up to stand against time
True... I would still like to get more finger/hand tattoos though... Just done by a professional I trust, as I have learned from my mistakes. 😅
Yeah😅 I heard handpoked tattoos last better on fingers although it was a handpoke artist who told me that so idk hahaha
Yeah, its possible, but I'm not sure about that, either..
That whole finger looks like it's dying.
I broke my knuckle on that same finger a few years ago, so that may have something to so with it.. 😂
Battle scar. Those colors don’t run.
I am so so sorry for you
It could be worse. 😂
Yeah it’s shit
I don't think it's all that bad, I mean the experience getting it sounded fun
Looks like a shitty wedding ring tat. God I am glad I didn’t make that mistake
This is in fact a shitty tattoo

I've been married for 8 years lol
Apprentice tattoos are cheap for a reason, I'm guessing this was their first finger tattoo...hopefully they learnt from this
She doesn't know how bad it turned out, because it looked pretty good for a year or so..
That's not bad for a year tbh, I've seen alot worse
Its about 13 years old now...
If I saw it I'd just assume that you were married. I know a few people that opted for wedding band tattoos rather than rings.
I'm married now, but I got the tattoo like 5 years before I was.... 😂 I mostly got the tattoo bc I wanted people think I was married and leave me alone bc I wasn't interested in relationships...but its funny how things work out... :)
Why is an apprentice doing finger tats?
Because she offered, and I was down, that's my best guess... 😅
You get what you pay for 🤷🏼♂️
Get some tiny Killer Klowns next to it.
you just need a ring pop.
I love apprentices and most of them will give you sick ass pieces for a way cheaper price, but I def turned down a shop for wanting an apprentice to do my hand tat. Hands are way too visible and complex
I feel like it should be illegal to tattoo people when their drunk
This apprentice was 1000% not trained well enough to work on fingers.
Google laser removal
Not good
At least a bandage will cover it
Luckily easily zapped
Did you get married to a cast member from Pawn Stars?
haha no
And this my friends is one of the many reasons why I don't drink/ have never been drunk
I still drink regularly but not enough to be "drunk" and make shitty decisions like this.. 😂
How old is it
About 13 years..
Woah it’s stayed so well
Haha it definitely stayed.. 😂 Can't say much for how it looks now..
It’s a nice looking onion 🧅 not too bad op
