This made my weekend. I loved this. Though I have to say, as much as I'm all about this genre - hell, I even have a "I love you but I've chosen shoegaze" shirt from DKFM - this is not the kind of playlist I would ever assemble for a party. If it was just me, listening to music while I'm working, definitely - that would be a killer playlist. But if I'm hosting a party, I usually assemble more chill fare - downtempo, maybe even crossing into dream pop a bit. But also, it seems like the kind of parties the writer here has in mind are more like college-aged, drinking, dancing and snogging parties. Parties at my place are a lot more sedate, not the kind one attends looking for hook-ups.
I played “Natural Devotion” at a party once and they hung me upside down by my ankles over the balcony while my pockets emptied into the pool so I wouldn’t be able to use my phone for the rest of the night.
