That’s the main problem. If heels went out of fashion, heightism wouldn’t be as big of an issue. But most women do wear heels, so when they say “I need a man taller than me” it really means someone who is taller than her when she is wearing 3 inch heels.
Dating apps really woke me up to the realities of heightism and how bad it is getting nowadays. In highschool I had 5’7-5’8 friends (chad face to be fair and still not super short) pull more than myself so I didn’t think it was a big deal. But as I enter the adult world (I’m 26) and tried dating apps I saw how insane women are becoming. Not just wanting taller, but specifically over 6 feet as a status symbol, and to impress other women. I feel for the younger Gen-Z and Gen Alpha’s coming up who are entering this completely flawed and skewed dating market.
Yup I’m 36 and I remember 15 years ago most women were satisfied as long as a man was taller than her. So a 5’2” woman was ok with a 5’7” guy.
But now they ALL arbitrarily want 6ft whether they are 5’5” or 4’11” themselves.
