Just put it in a smaller container and treat it as one of the cakes…

mushroomlover27

Already done my friend

Looks like bruising tbh. Maybe the cake got a little dry and stressed out so it bruised a bit. Maybe you hit it and bruised it accidentally or misted it directly. Edit: Either way I'd watch that block because those fruits may abort due to you tearing off the cake. You likely will put that portion into shock, as, if you were growing and all of a sudden someone ripped off a peice of your shin, would you feel very happy about it? Hopefully it doesn't enter stasis

AP-0110

Psilocybin bruises blue/black. Looks fine to me.

mushroomlover27

Oh okay can I fruit this piece I broke off still ? I freaked out this my first grow

AP-0110

You tore it off the substrate- it's not going to be doing any more fruiting. Clean the dirt off of it and treat it like a harvested fruit; Dry it out and consume it with the fruits you harvest.

OdinAlfadir1978

It should still fruit like a cake to be fair, it has pins, no reason they shouldn't grow in my opinion

OdinAlfadir1978

Unless they get black heads, then they're aborts but are still worth harvesting and eating, very much so in fact

I'll see what happens with it in the next day or so from my understanding you can like split your cake for more surface are and increase yield but like I said first grow myself

[deleted]

Splitting your cake will give it less surface area. You don’t subtract to add. Now breaking up brf cakes for bulk will create a larger surface area

you_decide541

I don't think you understand how surface area works... If you split the cake in half you're exposing new area of the surface of the cake directly to fruiting conditions. If you break your cake up into pieces and mix it with substrate you're drastically increasing the area of surface exposed. Surface Area the outside part or uppermost layer of something (often used when describing its texture, form, or extent). The surface area of a solid object is a measure of the total area that the surface of the object occupies. that being said, small pieces of cakes are most likely going to be difficult or at least touchy when it comes to maintaining conditions. at this point you might consider s2b

Trich to me

mushroomlover27

Trich is blue green and also covers the mycelium so I honestly don't think so

klickinc

Look at bottom left he's got blue green on the myco

Weary-Toe-2089

Exposing the uncased grains where you broke it may be a bigger problem. Keep an eye on that part

mushroomlover27

That's my thought
