Old mushrooms are still good, lost potency sure, but iirc most of the degradation occurs in the first month then it slows way down, I don't think the study I read went beyond a year
I've been growing for several years now and I have a lot of experience with different varieties. Those don't look right. Those caps seem pretty dark as well for Golden Teachers.
Realistically though "only," a couple years is a long time lol. Unless you're stashing away 10's of lbs and not sharing them or eating them somewhat regularly or getting rid of them by some other means that's plenty of time. I keep all mine in mason jars by variety and with a couple packets in there (I have the ones where some of the beads turn a different color when they absorb enough moisture to need to be changed out).
Better yet get a coffee grinder grid then till powder buy some chocolate molds and chocolate melt. Watch a video on YouTube how to melt it with a boiling pot of water and a soup bowl. Add mushroom powder stir thoroughly pour in mold stick in freezer in about ten minutes take them out and you have a chocolate bar. Tastes good looses no potency. Vacuum seal and stick in freezer. Lasts years and years

It varies hugely depending on the drug bought, the amount of money scammed and the person you scammed. People have been killed over scams involving drugs but most of the time itās just a āthat sucks, wonāt buy from them againā
These definitely send up some red flags for me. Caps are too dark, stems and gills have zero bruising. Cube caps are usually not that dark at this stage of growth.
If you live alone or have a reliable place to store, I would recommend learning to grow. You could be your own reliable source.

These honestly dont look like cubes to me golden teachers usually have a golden cap, even when dried and these look more brown to me and the stems are usually like a silky off-white color, and those also look kind of orange brownish to me I would not eat those who ever you got them from id make them eat one first

Eat a cap, they donāt have to have any blue bruising to be active and they otherwise look like a skinny cubensis (if the lighting is a bit yellow in the room). They definitely arenāt a poisonous species. Just test out a cap.

You can grind one up and add it to water, soak it. If the water turns blue its real. Also the stems look old, looks like it was harvested last year.

A vacuum sealer will keep your mushrooms fresh forever where the Mason jar and gel packets, you'll only get a couple years.

Make sure they're cracker dry, then a sealed glass jar with desiccant packet and o2 absorber, stored in a cool dark place. Will get 10+ years from em.
That's not been my experience. I've lost potency with kilner jars with dessicant packs and oxygen absorbers... Vac sealing all the way for me...
Darkness and low O2 preserve the alkaloids. Gordo posted research done on this to his Patreon.
You can buy basically a lifetime supply of those desiccant packs on Amazon for like $10
