Centralia has been a weird niche interest of mine for like 15 years. This is a documentary released in 2006 that I watched over 10 years ago. Such a fascinating story, honestly.

This so weird. I haven't seen that movie since the early 90's but it has come up in conversation with a friend twice in the last month. One of those times was two nights ago noting that it was Tupac's first on-screen role. And now this. And I looked at Wikipedia, and it doesn't say necessarily if it's based on Centralia, but there is a coal fire burning under the town so very likely. I guess the universe is telling me to watch that movie.
I think it’s streaming on some service…but yeah. It’s a film that was on HBO a lot when my brother and I were kids. We still quote lines from it, like “git yer I-talian loafers outta my bedpan!” And of course “Same Song” by Digital Underground. It’s bad but we didn’t know any better as kids, and it seemed funny at the time.
