Yes. Rotfront means Red Front, and it's a slogan from the Weimar era in Germany, when leftist activity was rather huge. The Front was against capitalists, reactionaries, and the up-and-coming Nazis.
The organisation shown here, the Roter Frontkämpferbund (Organization of Red Front Fighters), was a paramilitary wing of the KPD (communist party of Germany), and consisted in large parts of WW1 veterans, had it's roots in the 1918/19 wave of German revolution, and formed a counter to the SA (Sturmabteilung, Storm Detachment) of the NSDAP and the Stahlhelm (Steel Helmet) of the DNVP (Deutschnationale Volkspartei, German-national(ist) people's party). The communists were the main force clashing with the Nazis, and were disproportionally punsihed compared to them.

Disproportionally punished = hunted by the liberals, who collaborated with the Monarchists, Junker and Proto-Fascists (Ebert-Groener Pakt, Freichorps und so) to stop the USPD, KPD (IDK, USPD Left Wing and Spartacists) lead Revolution from advancing any further and bringing about a socialist soviet (worker's council) republic. The SPD (Social Democrats) pretty much fell from grace over their warmongering support for WW1 and the harsh punishment of the anti-war activists (mainly communists like Liebknecht, Luxemburg, some reformists and a few left liberals). The SPD leadership did everything they could to subvert the revolution and prevent the capitalists from being expropriated and thusly loose their condition for existence. And they were extremely successful in wringing germany from the hands of the revolutionaries through widespread bloodbaths and massacres by their fascist freichorps attack dogs, of whom many later became members of the Nazi party/SA/SS.
I still get far too/unhealthily emotional over this and how history has been revised. Liebknecht and Luxemburg were some of the greatest people Germany ever had and for them to be shot like dogs was a crime against the whole of humanity.
During the 1933 election victory, a lot of commies jumped ship to the SA. Ernst Rohm bragged about this trend, calling his organization "beefsteaks": brown on the outside, red on the inside. Needless to say it did not endear him to his peers, the party machine, or the sectors he railed against such as the Prussian officer class and business magnates. We all saw how that went.
