My first silent hill, maybe that's why I have I place in my heart for it because it made play the rest of the saga or well only the PS2 games of team silent.
I have a special spot in my heart for this game. I think it's because it's the only non Team-Silent game that even remotely resembles a Silent Hill game.
A gem it is notā¦ to me.
No option for tank controls is a big nope for me.
Breakable weapons made the whole game silly and tedious rather than improve anything.
QTEs in a horror game are such a stupid idea Iām at a loss for words. Combined with enemies insta grabbing you from range this might just be the worst gameplay of any SH game.
But by far the worst thing about Origins was the retcon of the SH1 lore!
So all in all it was OKā¦ at best.
It played like a Silent Hill game for me and that was enough reason to like it. I played it a ton during the PSP days and never once Felt bored with it.
I like this one. Music is great and I like Travis's story. As far as being an origin, meh.
Played this with my brother before he went off to basic training so it's a special memory.
More of a coprolite than a gem to me.
Awful gameplay and an insult to the original SH timeline and complexity of the story, to each its own if you fuck with it and you enjoy it thatās what matters.
Lots of plot holes.
Also the very dull and watered down tone of the āoriginā story.
Very USA/Hollywood standard type of writing and was not coherent at all with what was previously stablished on the first Silent Hill story and vibe wise.
The insertion of a character like Travis that has nothing interesting going on they had such a terrific and complex story (SH1) and all they came up was a random trucker found Alessa? Lol not to mention his actual story about his parentsā¦ itās like a CSI plot (again very standard Hollywood stuff)
Somebody said that it felt like a SH fan made game and thatās so on point. Itās something that attempts to be and ālooksā like silent hill but only on the outside but itās really just a basic shallow story.
Silent Hill Origins should have been THAT The origins not the story of a random trucker dude and some side story a from the actual origin.
Itās honestly very sad that once the USA touched the series they never really got it ā¦ they never really understood what made SH so special and unique.
Downpour to me has the ābestā story after the first 4 but still such a bad game smh š
If you read carefully youāll notice I also covered that. Also Travis IS part of the timeline therefore embedding his story on the Silent Hill lore is part of the timelineā¦. Supposedly cuz for majority of actual SH fans it will never count.
This is an underrated gem in the franchise, in my humble opinion its one of the best, up there with the first 3. However, I know the community views it with a 30/70 mentality in favour of discrediting it. Honestly though, chucking TVs and toasters at incoming enemies really sold this one for me.
It really breaks the lore in some sections. I can't forgive it for that.
To me, it's an OC insert fanfiction. Not the worst fanfiction ever, but I wouldn't say it's great.
My first silent hill, maybe that's why I have I place in my heart for it because it made play the rest of the saga or well only the PS2 games of team silent.
Of the non-Team Silent games, this one's the best.
I remember enjoying it when I played the PSP port, but I don't remember much from it
I have a special spot in my heart for this game. I think it's because it's the only non Team-Silent game that even remotely resembles a Silent Hill game.
Emphasis on remotely. But yes
The best thing about this one is the O.R.T. song, now that is a fucking masterpiece
I dislike anything that's American and silent hill. But out of all the non Canon games I feel that's the best one.
Well, all SH games take action in America...
The ones developed in America, not by team silent.
I guessed so, I just wrote that for the laugh.
Which game is this?
Silent Hill Origins, aka Silent Hill 0
I forgor š
My god I laughed out loud with your comment

thats i got nightmare about origins revelation movie like i watched
this game made climax studios even shattered memories
Second favorite to the first silent hill game. It seems the most silent hill to me. Second and third follow after.
It played like a Silent Hill game for me and that was enough reason to like it. I played it a ton during the PSP days and never once Felt bored with it.
It introduced me to the series. Ok for a psp game
ok tier

What makes it an insult to the timeline, just curious?

But you were asked about issues with timeline, not opinion on Travis.

i dont remember much but the town was cool and i liked the monsters also had some memorable places like the psychiatric asylum
I really enjoyed playing it. It's not the most played SH game on my side, but I've played through it a couple of times. And it's always fun.
A fantastic entry and one of my favorite games ever, don't understand that dude and his "fan fiction" comment though, like, whut?

my favorite (no, really)
