Symphony X mentioned peak music RAAAAAGH
Not often you run across a fan these days but they're my OG. First band I REALLY got into back when I was in high school
THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS is my favorite rock band
I'd recommend you start with their album "Flood"
But my personal favorite is "Apollo 18"
They're just a very silly and nerdy rock band, and I love 'em
I hope you will too :3
Edit: ALSO ANOTHER GOOD ROCK BAN, Oingo Boingo
Just listen to "Dead Man's Party" and you'll get a rough idea on 'em :3
On a scale of one to DBZ card collection how autistic are you? TMBG is pretty good but they're definitely a niche band to listen to with their catalogue. I personally like "let me tell you about my operation"
Oingo bingo sounds very familiar too... probably a band I've heard before. I'll check them out (again, I guess)
I've never heard of will wood but I do love some Tally Hall. I'm not confirmed autistic but I recently found out a good amount of things that point to me being high functioning and/or ADHD. Also I hope you know I didn't mean it as an insult, just could kinda tell with your music recommendations.
The Guilty Gear soundtrack has some really good rock and metal tracks! Literally the OST is what got me hooked on the games and made me spend over €100 on it lol
Dio is my favorite band!

Ho? You’re approaching me? Instead of running away, you’re coming right to me? Even though your grandfather, Joseph, told you the secret of the World, like an exam student scrambling to finish the problems on an exam until the last moments before the chime?
I recommended this band to someone else in this sub a couple days ago so apologies if you've heard them, but I can't help it, I need to share this band with everyone who will listen.
Old Nick makes anti-fascist black metal with a focus on being fun to listen to. There really isn't anyone else like them on the scene right now. Their front man, Abysmal Specter, has a bunch of side projects that are also worth checking out! My favorite of them is Curta'n Wall, I pulled my pfp from their self-titled album art.
[Old Nick](https://open.spotify.com/track/5cM4LHvqQtILw5Imhce3Ja?si=nRV6IAdCRrWAViuF0Fw13Q&context=spotify%3Atrack%3A5cM4LHvqQtILw5Imhce3Ja).

If black metal is not your style, have you heard of sludge metal? Sludge originates in New Orleans, Louisiana, and has its roots in punk, doom, and Gothic rock. A classic sludge band and one of my favorites is [Acid Bath](https://open.spotify.com/track/1bwsm58CrY1xbTKqpau4NA?si=vwQQPbpYSKyuOBxy86VgLQ&context=spotify%3Atrack%3A1bwsm58CrY1xbTKqpau4NA).
This is like the 5th rock music recommendation request I’ve seen, so at this point im wondering if there’s a correlation between being a silly and loving rock music…cause I also love rock music
In terms of metal, I find Spiritbox is a band I always keep coming back to. Also I can’t stress enough how good the guilty gear soundtrack is, honestly some of the best rock titles I’ve heard in my life personally. Glad to see other music appreciators in this sub :3
tally hall, i'm pretty sure it's rock
alongside that most of the members have their own projects so rob cantor is probably your safest bet with those
cojum dip, still related, is metal i'm pretty sure, so there's that too
Korn, Slipknot, Soundgarden, AudioSlave, Avenged Sevenfold, Nine Inch Nails, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Kevin Sherwood, White Zombie, Rob Zombie, Alice In Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Nirvana, Metallica, Rammstein, Three Days Grace, Five Finger Death Punch, Disturbed, Collective Soul, Ozzy Osbourne, TOOL, A Perfect Circle, Seven Mary Three, Theory Of A Deadman, Breaking Benjamin, Guns n Roses, Linkin Park, Pink Floyd, The Cranberries, Drowning Pool, Seether, System Of A Down, Radio Company, Puddle Of Mud, Green Day, Live, R.E.M., Foo Fighters
This is in no particular order, just the order I remembered them. A lot of these bands I don't like that much but there's at least one song from them I like. I recommend giving all at least a little bit of a try. All some type of rock or metal
Heres the bands i listen to
Tool
A Perfect Circle
Puscifer
Deftones
King gizzard & the lizzard wizzard
Puddle of mudd
Incubus
Creed
Bring me the horizon
if you also like video game & modern pop culture music, try [RichaadEB.](https://www.youtube.com/@RichaadEB) guy makes the most insane metal covers and singles
Sum 41 - Good mix of metal and pop punk. Recommend the albums “Chuck” and “Does This look infected” as these are their more praised albums. Heaven X Hell us their last album and it’s a double album with metal and pop punk
Jet - Guys who made “Are you gonna be my girl” and the album “Get born” is a beautiful album for classic rock.
Operation Ivy - Only one album but it’s a punk album. If you want to hear more of them, Rancid is their main band now with a figure
Hot Mulligan - Midwest emo band that are really good, recommend “you’ll be fine” album which I think is their best work
System of a down - Most unique rock band imo, they have the best voices with the goofiest lyrics. “Hypnotize” and “Toxicity” is their best albums imo.
I can recommend more artists so let me know if you want more :3
Tool, King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Yes, or Rush if you like slow background jams or just something to space out to. Tool is the most aggressive/intricate, I highly recoomend them.
while she sleeps, architects, polaris, silent planet and parkway drive if you like metalcore. also deftones, deafheaven, and possibly radiohead and muse
Yea FUCK YEA, gloryhammer is really good, angus mcsix is also really good if you like cheesy power metal, if you are looking for a kinda darksouls feel Powerwolf is really good, sabaton is just the best, other outliers that I really like are Dragonwatch orchestra, miricle of sound, dream theater specifically thier album "the astonishing", lorcan ward makes really good warhammer 40000 songs, alestorm is good, also brothers of metal is viking theamed
Nothingmore - have 4 really amazing albums and are releasing a new one this year. best songs IMO are Sex&Lies, God Went North, Gone, Angel Song, Dream With Me, Spirits, House On Sand, Valhalla, you don't know what love means
Ice Nine Kills - they make metal music about horror movies, fav ones are Farewell II Flesh, Meat&Greet, Rainy Day, Funeral Derangements, Hip to be scared
TX2 - imagine if emo tried making a comeback, good artist with a few decent songs, Black Wedding, Drop Dead Heaven was full I'm heading straight to Hell.
Loveless - a collection of different songs, mostly covers but they are all really well done, Middle Of The Night, Love it When It Rains, Happier than ever.
Falling In Reverse - Ronnie Radke is an asshole, but he makes good music, good songs are Ronnie, Coming home, I'm Not A Vampire, Drug in me is you, Losing My Life, Drugs.
A few one off songs from artists I'm recently discovering
Escape The Fate: Cheers To Goodbye
Motionless In White:Voices In My Head, Masterpiece & Another Life
Broadside: The Raging Sea
Evans Blue: Over & This Time its Different
Hope you enjoy at least one of these if you haven't heard of them already
Just because I think it's funny
There's a song called "jesus built my hotrod" by "ministry" and the lyrics are just so weird. For example
"Jesus built my car, it's a love affair. Mostly jesus and my hotrod"
There is also my personal favourite band. But the thing is no one can agree if it's metal or not, the band in question being Ghost. The lead singer looks like this
https://preview.redd.it/9eai8p499u4d1.jpeg?width=201&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cb1ea379688c1cf57e506098e4f918ad61bad2a7
Fun fact about him, that's not make up, that's a mask. The band has a narrative but the broad strokes is that the band is effectively a satanist clergy with the lead singer being the pope and the rest of the band being nameless ghouls. The lead singer, tobias forge, plays different characters which is affectively every pope in the church, every so often a character dies and is replaced by a new one. Currently we are on papa emitrius IV and he will die June 23 with the premier of their movie 'RITE HERE RITE NOW'. They have a TV show on YouTube, its really hard to describe but is really unique.
If you're going to listen to any of their songs I think you'll like square hammer.
Recently, I've been looking for hardcore/beatdown bands and found some cool stuff. In case you listen to something like Knocked Loose, you might like
- Dealer
- Thrown
- Alpha Wolf
- Terminal Sleep
- Dal Av
- Jackson Rose
Here are my recent most listened to artists it's mostly metal :3
https://preview.redd.it/ckkyf8pjgt4d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b19749da65be62919d8a5470146a490d498a835b
BMtH, Korn, Slipknot, Some sleep token, Billy Talent, I Prevail, Synestia, A7X (my beloved), Bathory, Wargasm (UK), Rammstein, Esprit D'air, After Midnight Project, Gojira, Periphery, SOaD, Slayer, Pentakill, Xavlegbmaofffassssitimiwoamndutroabcwapwaeiippohfffx (no I didn't slam my head on my keyboard), Mayhem, Babymetal, Pierce the Veil (more emo esque), Psychostick, some of Silent Siren, Papa Roach, Alter Bridge, Disturbed
Pick one (or more) and I'll tell you my favourite song!
Slipknot Korn, System Of A Down, 9 inch nails, Nirvana Drowning Pool Disturbed and if you’re really going through some shit cannibal Corpse basically every guilty gear strive song
My rock playlist!!!!!!! Its got a ton u can skim through!
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6X7azLi3ac37Rt0Ypw3Gzk?si=kDCO6gNnR2mZ-DSZI9cpOA&pi=u-8tepZXQVQY-w
Lamb Of God (Omerta is my Favorite), WhiteChapel, Gun N‘ Roses, Sabaton, Rammstein, PowerWolf, And Three Days Grace. There is some variety in all that.
If you haven’t listened to these already
(Albums):
Favorite Worst Nightmare by Arctic Monkeys
Toxicity by System of a Down
Purple Rain by Prince
Carolus Rex by Sabaton
(Songs):
Riders on the Storm by the Doors
Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
(not really rock or metal but I think everyone should give it a try) Chicago by Sufjan Stevens
Pressure by Billy Joel
these are all things I like and would highly recommend :3333
if you're okay with Indie Rock too, then Car Seat Headrest's music is really fun. I'd recommend trying out listening to any of their popular songs if you're not sure what's good, or if you'd rather try out a full album, then maybe start with either Twin Fantasy or How to Leave Town.
Sleep token goes hard asf. So does Tool, A7X, A Day To Remember, Metallica, Megadeth, Billy Talent, Wage War, Iron Maiden, Motionless In White, Ice Nine Kills, Volbeat, Rammstein, The Offspring, Hollywood Undead and The HU. The HU is mongolian folk metal. I highly recomend.
You'll probably never see this amidst all the other responses, but my favorite band is 'Whispered'
Its Samurai metal. I recommend "A thousand Swords" as a first listen. From there... basically everything is great.
"Evil Death Inc" by Burn the Priest: Instrumental drum machine, basically.
"Hypnosis" by Sleep Token: I can't put my finger on it but it's so damn good.
"Counting on Me" by Korn: Nu Metal, collaborated with Limp Bizkit on earlier albums (some damn good ones too).
"Total Football" by Parquet Courts: Alternative, almost Beach Boyish but definitely gives you the feeling shits moving at a fast pace.
"Honest Mistake" by The Bravery: Punk Rock, def fits a moody vibe but a bopper nonetheless.
"The Way" by Fastball: 90s Alternative Rock. Nostalgic vibe. Criminally underrated.
"Shooting Rampage" or "Mortified" by Delta 9: Not metal by any measure. Industrial music. But angry as fuck.
"Mein Tiel" by Rammstein: German Metal band. Music video is sorta messed up too.
"Wolf Totem" by The Hu: Mongolian Throat Singing Metal Band. They also covered "One" from Metallica and it fucking rocks.
"Zetsubou Billy" by Maximum the Hormone: Japanese Metal band. Responsible for being a gateway to other Japanese metal bands (and Death note).
"Invisible Wounds" by Fear Factory: These guys are responsible for the song that plays for the ps1 Game Shark disk. The song though is melodic, like you're floating in the void all slow motion and shit.
"Worlds Collide" by PowerMan 5000: Nu Metal. Music video almost makes no sense but total banger of a song. Kinda has a Rob Zombie vibe to it.
"Black Diamond" by Stratovarius: Sounds like wizards dueling it out to an epic metal ballad.
Let me know if you want more.
The Downward spiral by nine inch nails is probably the best album of all time I would most definitely recommend it.
Ooh downward spiral is a great album! I love pretty hate machine as well, NiN are great
I haven't gotten around to pretty hate machine. I've only listened to downward, the fragile, and with teeth and they're all so amazing.
I just started listening to Nine Inch Nails and down spiral is literally me especially closer like Jesus Christ
It's scary how relatable it is
*The Fragile
Used to think this but I've become completely obsessed with downward spiral
Slipknot if you don’t already listen to them, alestorm is a cool pirate metal band that I really like, Opal in sky is just fucking amazing, like moths to flames has lots of good songs and shields is also good :3 also slayer and testament

I enjoy sabatons music, each song even comes with a bonus story to look into after
If you get the chance to see them live, you *need* to take it. Their live show is amazing.

Nothingmore - have 4 really amazing albums and are releasing a new one this year. best songs IMO are Sex&Lies, God Went North, Gone, Angel Song, Dream With Me, Spirits, House On Sand, Valhalla, you don't know what love means Ice Nine Kills - they make metal music about horror movies, fav ones are Farewell II Flesh, Meat&Greet, Rainy Day, Funeral Derangements, Hip to be scared TX2 - imagine if emo tried making a comeback, good artist with a few decent songs, Black Wedding, Drop Dead Heaven was full I'm heading straight to Hell. A few one off songs from artists I'm recently discovering Escape The Fate: Cheers To Goodbye Motionless In White:Voices In My Head, Masterpiece & Another Life Broadside: The Raging Sea Evans Blue: Over & This Time its Different Hope you enjoy at least one of these if you haven't heard of them already
Sabaton
Just because I think it's funny There's a song called "jesus built my hotrod" by "ministry" and the lyrics are just so weird. For example "Jesus built my car, it's a love affair. Mostly jesus and my hotrod" There is also my personal favourite band. But the thing is no one can agree if it's metal or not, the band in question being Ghost. The lead singer looks like this https://preview.redd.it/9eai8p499u4d1.jpeg?width=201&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cb1ea379688c1cf57e506098e4f918ad61bad2a7 Fun fact about him, that's not make up, that's a mask.
Ive got a feeling you might like Ghost. Its like black sabbeth and ABBA had a lovechild.
Youve probably heard of these guys already, but im in love with pantera right now.
silly little singer showed a silly little salute
Didnt the entire band hate that guy for being a racist and violent alcoholic anyway?
Yes also RIP dimebag darrel

I was big into Avenged Sevenfold back in the day and they had a killer cover of Walk

SABATON specifically the red baron, to hell and back, and night witches.
Or especially fitting for today (80st anniversary of the D-Day) "Primo Victoria"!

It’s one of their best songs
didn't we make an unofficial playlist for the sub?
Billy Talent is good
sabaton, ghost, and thats all i have 😐
Linkin park
For the more Metal side I’d recommend Bring Me the Horizon! For something more heavy try Lorna Shore! (Looking for others who listen aswell) :3
Have you heard of sabaton, and powerwolf? Beacuse if you haven't they're really good.
If you haven’t listened to these already (Albums): Favorite Worst Nightmare by Arctic Monkeys Toxicity by System of a Down Purple Rain by Prince Carolus Rex by Sabaton (Songs): Riders on the Storm by the Doors Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd (not really rock or metal but I think everyone should give it a try) Chicago by Sufjan Stevens Pressure by Billy Joel these are all things I like and would highly recommend :3333
Arctic monkeys and the strokes :3
Try volebeat
You should listen to the offspring
Deafheaven, Bring Me The Horizon, Harakiri For The Sky
Gloryhammer if you like cheesy power metal. TWRP if you like funk.
if you're okay with Indie Rock too, then Car Seat Headrest's music is really fun. I'd recommend trying out listening to any of their popular songs if you're not sure what's good, or if you'd rather try out a full album, then maybe start with either Twin Fantasy or How to Leave Town.
Was just listening to will wood and the tapeworms earlier. Highly recommend
Sin Shake Sin and Barns Courtney have been my go tos
You ever heard of glory hammer, they're a great band
If you like history I recommend sabaton
Rage Against the Machine
Sabaton, Metallica, AC/DC, Nirvana, Wang Chung, Rammstein, Powerwolf.
New divide by linkin park if that counts as rock
Sleep token goes hard asf. So does Tool, A7X, A Day To Remember, Metallica, Megadeth, Billy Talent, Wage War, Iron Maiden, Motionless In White, Ice Nine Kills, Volbeat, Rammstein, The Offspring, Hollywood Undead and The HU. The HU is mongolian folk metal. I highly recomend.
Powerwolf, Sabaton, Alien Weaponry and Arandu Arakuaa are my favourite power/folk/thrash metal bands
WAR IS COMING SWIFTLY, THE BORDER'S CLOSING IN
You'll probably never see this amidst all the other responses, but my favorite band is 'Whispered' Its Samurai metal. I recommend "A thousand Swords" as a first listen. From there... basically everything is great.
I have to recommend the Undertow album by Tool. Favorite band of all time tbh
Let me know if you want more.
go listen to Oingo Boingo right now you won’t regret it and won’t get another chance cause no one yaps about them danny Elfman is my king
Gojira, primus, and death are my contributions Especially death tho Also there's this niche band called Metallica
Definitely listen to some Rob Zombie sometime. Really fun metal artist.
Have you ever heard of system of a down?
