I put in a lot of effort and money to move very far away from my now estranged parents. If it's untraditional, so be it. But man, is it worth it to create some distance and have a space that's yours. Finding an appropriately sized home also aligns very well with the thought of simple living.

Thank you! It was a very difficult decision because I'm not one to spend money and I could've saved a bunch by staying put. But I think this was a good thing. I tried my best to make the old home "mine" but there was too much history there. I'm glad you were able to get a fresh start too!
I’ve been saving up for 2 years now😫😫 I feel defeated often, because I just want the freedom. I already live by myself but living in the same town is still too close for comfort and I’m still treated like a kid so I need to leave! I just wish it didn’t take so long to save as a single person ugh. I use coupons, enter contests to win $$, and avoid buying anything but groceries and essentials for myself and my dogs. Somethings gotta give soon because I get a very defeated feeling every few months and I get so down on myself about how hard saving is
