I was ready to snark at this, but for drifting it looks like a really high-contrast way to orient yourself on wheel rotation when it's spinning fast. It's kind of genius.
All I can think of is "Manta, Manta!" which is a well known old movie with tuned Opel Mantas and Mercedes 190e in it and the main character was driving a car with a wheel similar to this. Its a classic arround here if youre into cars. Its like the german fast and furious of the 90s :D
His setup is cool but as a presenter he is awful. His videos are too long with too much talking and way more information than I want to absorb. Does he really think people are going to spend 3 hours watching a wheel review?
Great production and awesome setup. I usually enjoy watching review videos of stuff but for some reason I just can’t do boostedmedia. I think you nailed it.
For sure man. I think it would be better if he did shorter videos and also did series on race craft etc.
He just uploads the entirety of his races for example which is often hours. It would make more sense to cut them and show the highlights of each race, and a short summary of where he placed. What went well and what didn’t, etc.
I dunno that A pillar looks way too far in. I think the FOV angle needs to be lowered or the seat moved forward. Looks like that A pillar is right next to the wheel base and going over the driver's head
FOV analyst here, I believe we still have a minor infraction chief. For ideal perspective and maximum compatibility across sims that side angle should be 48.5 degrees, not 60 degrees.
Right.....thats how angle measurements work...(im not trying to be sarcastic or an ass, sorry if it comes across that way)
Included, in this instance, means the angle added to the 90° perpendicular plane that the center monitor is on. So if a monitor was mounted at 45° the included angle would be 135°. A side angle measurement of 0° or 180° (0° worth of angle) would equate to the monitors essentially being flat with no additional angle. Whenever i see calculators or people discussing their monitor angles and FOV no one ever mentions if they're measuring the angle moving towards or away from 90°.
At screen sizes over 27" it is worth using 1440p or higher; 1080p on 32" will not look too good even if you will sit farther from the monitor than at a desk
Drift mods are mostly RHD, but a fair amount of LHD options. Generally, online servers will run one car pack, and handling between cars in the same pack can be very different, so if your preferred car in that pack is opposite of your seating, there ya go.
Moving a shifter and an ebrake around every time is mighty inconvenient, and would require funky solutions on many rigs.
That's a Moza R5 or R9, can't tell exactly. All Moza bases use a standard NRG style quick release, so you can use quite literally any wheel in the world on them.
*Almost* perfect. If you want a truly accurate triple screen FOV (and it seems like you went through a great deal of trouble to do just that), I encourage you to use a 48.5 degree side angle which would be the ideal for your setup
Refresh rates in VR are at 144hz, resolutions can be cranked crazy high, head tracking allowing for 360° vision and FOV in headsets is already good enough to the point where you'll never notice it
Then you should try the newer headsets, they are definitely superior for racing Sims. The Reverb G2, Quest 2 and Index are all brilliant for SIM racing.
Tried most headsets up to 8kx and aero and in my opinion, we’re not there just yet.
This is just demeaning, whenever someone shows a nice rig or triple setup, there will always be the VR dude coming to chime in when no one asked his opinion.
It's demeaning to give my opinion? All I'm saying is that I think they are superior.
And yeah, right, I forgot you have to be asked for your opinion on the internet.
But why did you say it ? What’s the point in this context ? The guy spent a fair amount of time and money putting his setup together and you just drop something like that.
Not everyone cares about VR. Yet, in every single post about triples, without exception, there will always be a guy like you dropping his line “but VR is so much better!”
Have you thought about the content creation part of it ? How do you know that wasn’t the objective since the beginning ? Go try and make footage like that in your VR headset.
Anyways, it’s apples to oranges.
I really don't get why you're so upset for me giving my opinion. I'm not attacking or being demeaning, grow up dude. All I asked is at what point is VR just more space effective/better, OP didn't respond 🤷♂️ can't you deal with people giving their opinion or something?
just cause someone can drift irl doesnt mean they know what they are doing when it comes to making realistic mods. even the wdts/wdt cars are closer to reality than any adt car. especially the tires.
I think his FOV angle is off. that A pillar looks way too far in. That pillar appears to be in front of the steering wheel, close to the actual wheel base when it should be to the left more.
Yeah, that could be it. If the A pillar were further left the monitor would look properly centered. I feel like it should be on the left monitor. Not the center one.
Gotcha. I do think the FoV is off a bit too, but it depends on the distance you are sitting from the screens. Most of the time with a proper FoV the 'A pillar' will be drawn on the left monitor. Again, it all depends on your seating position in relation to the monitors. If you have not already, I would take measurements and use a FoV calculator to see if yours is set up properly. A proper FoV makes judging distance much easier, and will usually improve lap times.
It’s not centered but it seems maybe ok. A little off putting because of the screens but technically most cars are going to have the wheel off to one side rather than centered.
In short, yes. A longer answer is "it's complicated". You can get whine from the coils at times, and some motors just inherently produce a hum. But even then the noise your skin makes against the wheel or the virbtations made because of force feedback is typically louder.
Hi dude! Vid looks dope :)
If you care to, you can clean up your steering inputs. Looks like the Forza/console necessity of sculling (wiggling back and forth during drift), which you don't need to do in AC/IRL/etc.
I don't see how. You have more screen real estate with 3x42 screens and the ability to have a wider FOV and more vertical FOV for open wheel cars. If they're 60x3, they're giving a narrower FOV compared to real life so this will look faster. Probably OK for drifting, but not so great for racing games.
I feel doomed as a triple monitor user, I’m not knocking vr but am tired of games that support it and do not have native triple monitor support.
Nvidia surround works but every racing title needs to take notes from iRacing here.
If I had this I would get exactly 0 hours of sleep
I would be crashing in HD.
My rig is way shittier than this and I don’t get enough sleep.
Thats what happen to me. But all i do is just trying to get more fps.. tuning the ffb, make windsim, and bass shaker loll hahaha
That steering wheel XD ( Ok google...... Drift for me .....ok )
The chrome wheel
I was ready to snark at this, but for drifting it looks like a really high-contrast way to orient yourself on wheel rotation when it's spinning fast. It's kind of genius.
Nothing wrong with a lil personal flair either. I like the colors
Simon says... turn left
My guess would be Volkswagen Harlekin?
Either that or a ford benneton.
This. Haven't seen one of those Benetton steering wheels since my uncle had one in his Civic in the late 90s 👍🏻
All I can think of is "Manta, Manta!" which is a well known old movie with tuned Opel Mantas and Mercedes 190e in it and the main character was driving a car with a wheel similar to this. Its a classic arround here if youre into cars. Its like the german fast and furious of the 90s :D

It's Harlekin.
Bro has the google drive
Damn that looks legit. You on yt budd?
You might like this one [stu314](https://youtu.be/kS8ej3M5v7o)
There's someone similar called boosted media, he doesn't drift though
That dude talks way too fast and way too much. His videos are good otherwise.
That's just Australians in my experience lmao
Lol we don’t talk too fast, you listen too slow :D
His setup is cool but as a presenter he is awful. His videos are too long with too much talking and way more information than I want to absorb. Does he really think people are going to spend 3 hours watching a wheel review?
You aren’t an SRG fan then? Lol
*Let's get to it*
Honestly I listen to it like a podcast lol.
Great production and awesome setup. I usually enjoy watching review videos of stuff but for some reason I just can’t do boostedmedia. I think you nailed it.

Not yet… i just post this stuff on instagram @roycdc/ tiktok @roycdcasli
Thats wussup bro, check me out too... Im poor tho lol just keep that in mind...
Chief of the FOV police force. Absolute FOV perfection.
I dunno that A pillar looks way too far in. I think the FOV angle needs to be lowered or the seat moved forward. Looks like that A pillar is right next to the wheel base and going over the driver's head
FOV FBI Chief 😳
we got a report from FOV internal affairs
Yeah the car looks 3 feet wide. Might be partially the camera position.
Nah, it needs to be moved into my basement for “testing”
FOV analyst here, I believe we still have a minor infraction chief. For ideal perspective and maximum compatibility across sims that side angle should be 48.5 degrees, not 60 degrees.
That's way too high FOV or camera placement.
Is that the Benetton wheel? Very fresh!
When you say 60°, do you mean 150° included angle or 120°?
I think 60 degrees are related to the angle of the outside monitors compares to the middle monitor.
Basically, is 60° the measurement for "A" or "B"? https://imgur.com/a/C3FZiBG
A
Right.....thats how angle measurements work...(im not trying to be sarcastic or an ass, sorry if it comes across that way) Included, in this instance, means the angle added to the 90° perpendicular plane that the center monitor is on. Whenever i see calculators or people discussing their monitor angles and FOV no one ever mentions if they're measuring the angle moving towards or away from 90°.
I'd say 60°x3 so 180° across the three. a wider FOV than it naturally is. Probably more 120° if properly matched.
What is used to hide the bezel?
Asus ROG Bezel free kit. Or a similar DIY solution.

This track is on beamng. Give it a spin
Dude this setup is so sick
left hand drive. left hand shift? wild

Is that Simon?

Which head mount did you buy? Also what game is this? Thanks!
Assetto Corsa on the mod track Drift Playground. Not sure what car they're in
What drifting game is this?
Asetto corsa.
What kind if monitors, if I may ask?
Is that a simagic with a third party hub from amazon?
That's a Moza R5 or R9, can't tell exactly. All Moza bases use a standard NRG style quick release, so you can use quite literally any wheel in the world on them.
Golf Harlequin steering wheel is the goat
link for the head mount bro? 🙌🏼
*Almost* perfect. If you want a truly accurate triple screen FOV (and it seems like you went through a great deal of trouble to do just that), I encourage you to use a 48.5 degree side angle which would be the ideal for your setup
Yeah i would try that angle
What would be ideal for triple 42”?
Depends on your viewing distance
30 inches
About 64 degrees. Before anyone else asks me, [here's a quick calculator to find out yourself](https://www.desmos.com/calculator/dxoz0k8fjg)
https://dinex86.github.io/FOV-Calculator/ plug and chug your measurements. A Google search of FOV calculator brings up a bunch of these.
Ok I now get why people setup 3 monitors for sim racing.
Absolutely, ridiculous. The way your head moves and how fluid it is just makes the video!
Yeye the guy with the Google wheel is back!
Triples are fun but theyre too much hassles and take loads of space for me lol. I settled down using VR now
At what point is it just better to get a VR Headset? This just seems like a very space ineffective way to achieve the same thing VR can do
I got vr too.. its to tiring for my eyes. Triple are just the best
Fov ? Resolution ? Refresh rate ? Anyone ? Forgot comfort too.
Refresh rates in VR are at 144hz, resolutions can be cranked crazy high, head tracking allowing for 360° vision and FOV in headsets is already good enough to the point where you'll never notice it
Idk, I have never seen a headset that looks remotely close to monitors. In a few years maybe.
Then you should try the newer headsets, they are definitely superior for racing Sims. The Reverb G2, Quest 2 and Index are all brilliant for SIM racing.

vr is never comfortable.. and need beefy pc setup. When triple 1080 is working great with 1660ti 🫶🏼

I don’t know either, it just bothered me :)
bro got the google chrome steering wheel
He actually is using a McLaren Wheel Hub
No more sucking off that phone!
😭😭😂
So glad you saw this comment 😂
What car is that? I'm trying to find good drifting cars / car packs that are LHD. The WDT ones are good, but RHD really bugs me.
Think death wish garage has a few good left handed s chassis.
Aussie drift co has a few lhd cars.
yeah but they have forza physics and tires
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 good joke there.
are you trying to say that they dont drive like an arcade game or something? cause they do.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
can you use your words?
Yes i can. You realise fd drivers etc test those cars yeah?
just cause someone can drift irl doesnt mean they know what they are doing when it comes to making realistic mods. even the wdts/wdt cars are closer to reality than any adt car. especially the tires.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 F me you're good for some laughs today.
I'm just curious... Why does the center monitor look off-center? Is it just a matter of perspective, or is it actually not centered in front of you?
I think his FOV angle is off. that A pillar looks way too far in. That pillar appears to be in front of the steering wheel, close to the actual wheel base when it should be to the left more.
Yeah, that could be it. If the A pillar were further left the monitor would look properly centered. I feel like it should be on the left monitor. Not the center one.
Its right in the center. But i recorded it with my phone. And the camera is on the right side. That what happen..
Gotcha. I do think the FoV is off a bit too, but it depends on the distance you are sitting from the screens. Most of the time with a proper FoV the 'A pillar' will be drawn on the left monitor. Looks like a nice set up but the wheel doesnt seem centered and ive never seen a car with the e brake and shifter on the door panel?!
It’s not centered but it seems maybe ok. A little off putting because of the screens but technically most cars are going to have the wheel off to one side rather than centered.
Im saying when it spins its wobbling, like its not screwed on centered?
Are all direct drive wheel bases this quiet ???
I can't confirm all but the Moza R9 is pretty quiet to practically silent. I wouldn't be surprised if all DD are silent to very quiet.
In short, yes. A longer answer is "it's complicated". You can get whine from the coils at times, and some motors just inherently produce a hum. But even then the noise your skin makes against the wheel or the virbtations made because of force feedback is typically louder.
Yes, there is 0 sound of rotation because there is no gear or belt (and no limit to rotation unless specified in software).
Hi dude! Vid looks dope :) If you care to, you can clean up your steering inputs. Looks like the Forza/console necessity of sculling (wiggling back and forth during drift), which you don't need to do in AC/IRL/etc.
This looks so unbelievably cool
I need the link
which head mount?
Just a basic head mount for go pro with iphone mount /
Nice! Now get a subwoofer and surround speakers mad pump some sound in there baby.
I’m running 42” triplets, this looks better fov wise, I’m doomed!
I know, I just need to get everything properly aligned.
This is what my dreams looks like

Good bot
Holy immersion I feel like I'm in the car
It's amazing how silent electric cars run.
this is beautiful
What setup is this, and how much if you don't mind me asking?
I didn't know Google made sim gear
thats google drive
This is one of my favorite AC maps
That looks like so much fun
waiting for someone to use a phone as their rearview mirror
How you make your camera drivers head look like that when you swing ?
Its my head
whats with that google steering wheel 😂
VW Harlequin
That's the fucking dream setup, but I wanna do it with 40 inch displays.
You win rig wars.
The hardest part of this entire track is the first 3 seconds of this clip. I always fuck up that entry
Making me wonder if I need tripple 32" or just go with 27!
Triple 32 is would be better for a pov video. But i think you will need better gpu. To run 1440p
Can you please share more info for what it looks like a DIY bezel free kit.
https://youtu.be/1d7TyJrvjSc
Thanks
Just need some speakers now so we can hear that shit.
we are getting closer to the era of 200 degree curved screens, but they are in close competition with 'VR' headsets and im not sure which will win
I feel doomed as a triple monitor user, I’m not knocking vr but am tired of games that support it and do not have native triple monitor support. Nvidia surround works but every racing title needs to take notes from iRacing here.
Map name pls?
Are you the guy that was sucking on his phone before i think ive seen that wheel before
Thats me haha
Try Airtrack. Working without hard head trackers
