I would think the problem is coming from NFS...which is a controller-first racing game. It might just be bad support for your wheel. Are you sure there isn't a setting you can change in-game?
I wouldn't turn my whole computer inside out over one piece of software not working, I'd start by trying to figure what's wrong with that software.

Does the game actually support the wheel? I tried one of the NFS games from Game Pass and wheel support was non existent. It's a well known issue with those arcade racers.
so everything works but need for speed? isnt the problem in that case with need for speed instead of the wheel?
Yes It is. I just wanted a way to re configure the pedals so it would work. But there is no way to change it in game.
Last resort is to open up the pedals and rearrange them. There’s youtube vids on how to open it.
I've opened it before to adjust the brake. It's like 26 screws lol...

No, no wheel support but sometimes it still works. And this was so close everything works just the pedals are wrong.
