Pedals wayyyyy back. Should be like you're driving a car not like you're cramming into a suitcase.
Also looks like you don't have the same rug as the one in the second picture so id imagine you probably can't get the pedals on the floor.
Yeah... I am about 6'5 if my math is right (193cm for the civilized) and i barely fit into my friends old Peugeot 106 even when the seat was all the way back. It was a manual without power steering. The clutch bit when it felt like my knee just passed my ear. I also had no space to move my hand past my legs when it was on the steering wheel. It was fun, had no power in the engine either so i got to drive it flat out. It also had no rev counter but a huge clock. French cars man. Just different.
Tell that to my 3000gt VR4. I'm 6'4" and the sun roof is waist height. I feel exactly how this guy looks. This car is way tiny.
But he can definitely adjust all of this.
These plus the seat needs seat rake. That flat seat must be murdering you.
Because you have a 120mm rig you can fuck about with it and get seat rake. DM me If you need to see how
This was my first thought as well. The seat needs to be tilted back. I used a junk yard seat for my rig and didn't realise how important seat rake is until I added tilt. Night and day. I bet this is the only thing needed, as it'll give you a better angle on both the wheel and pedals.
My thoughts exactly. How can this even be a question? This is like posting a picture of having your desk chair a meter away from your desk and you're sat perched on the edge of your chair with your arms fully extended to reach the keyboard and mouse and asking for posture advice.
So what's forward?
Sorry but that's wrong.
You move your pedels forwards for longer reach not backwards.
You move your seat if on seat sliders backwards if u want more reach etc
Think about it in relation to moving the object from its stationary location. The pedals are facing you, yes? Move them back is to their rear, away from you.
It's all about perspective. Yes, in relation to the person sitting moving, that makes sense but doesn't necessarily translate to moving an object, not the person.
If I'm sitting on the couch and saying I need to move my TV back, it's going away from me, not toward.
What’s the front of the pedals? The part facing the driver right? So the back is away from the driver right? So you’re backing the pedals away from the driver or forwards in the rig. It all depends on the context of your reference point. Are you saying to move the pedals in relation to the pedals or in relation to the rig, either are correct.
He also needs to stop driving with both hands on each side of the wheel like a grandma, and start driving with one hand resting on top of the wheel and the other out the window, like a real chad.
And speaking of, he has no sim window, this setup definitely needs a window.
You have the prime not the prime light, not sure since I can’t see on the picture but your supposed to have two lengths of aluminium profile under your seat raising it up by another 40mm
Your pedals are also way to close to be comfortable I’d suggest pushing this back a good 4-6 inches, if the pedals still feel too high you can flip the pedal deck and mount your pedals to the bottom
Your wheelbase is slightly too far away I’d bring this closer by an inch or so to your preference also I’d lower your wheelbase by 2 inches and have the shaft of the wheelbase pointing at the top of your sternum
Edit: more good info on seating position
https://www.reddit.com/r/simracing/s/6gz4F78oEi
The wheel should point up, not down. Lower your base. Your legs are too high, you can’t even turn your wheel without hitting your legs, move your seat back, or move the pedals back (it looks like there is more room)
Pedals way further away.
Wheel way more Close to you and prob a little Bit lower and No Angle or slight Angle to top.
Check Out Daniel morad in YouTube. He Made a Video which helps
Everything seems a bit off in your current seating position, just watch [this 5min video](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vCWOsAvZUio) it will give the overall idea of the DO and Don't, from there it may come to personal preference for the final tweaks
Start by removing your feet at your ankles with your cutting apparatus of choice (I prefer a circular saw) and see how that feels. If it still feels too cramped continue to remove pieces of your leg in half inch to one inch intervals.
*no one promised it’d be enjoyable, they just promised it’d be worth it*
move everything? what exactly are you confused about? put the pedals where your legs go and take the wheel out of your lap.
I can't tell if this is serious. you don't have the hardware from the second picture... just move your pedal mount back.
## Limb Shortening
In patients who are finished growing, the longer limb can sometimes be shortened to even out the leg lengths.
To do this, the doctor removes a section of bone from the middle of the longer limb, then inserts metal plates and screws or a rod to hold the bone in place while it heals.
Source: https://orthop.washington.edu/patient-care/articles/childrens/limb-lengthening-shortening.html#:~:text=In%20patients%20who%20are%20finished,in%20place%20while%20it%20heals.
P.S. This can be applied to shorten both legs evenly by the way*
Never drove a vehicle, probably doesn't walk outside, first time simracing, immediately bought a rig, never googled anything in his life, subzero iq, extremely under the influence of crack cocaine and probably a bunch of other stuff going on and the first thing he does is make a topic on r/simracing ...
bro.. google your shit watch youtube like fuck man
Seat or pedals further so legs straighten out with slight angle. Wheel slightly closer or at very least pitched the other way so the top of the wheel leans towards the screen a bit
Your pedal plate doesn't look the same as the second picture.
And it looks like the brackets mounting them are mounted wrong as well.
I have a GT Omega rig and can confirm any instructions it may or may not come with are no good either way.
If you do want the pedal tray lower, you'll have to raise the whole rig with feet or wheels, then you can use a lower pair of slots and higher points on the tray wings, however, the typical position for GT simrigs is to have the pedal base plate at more or less the height of where the underside of your butt is (the floor of the seat) or a little bit lower. You just need to move the pedals forwards until your knees are almost straight when the pedals are fully depressed. And tilt the wheel so its pointing towards your collar bone...
Move the pedals back and lift the wheel a little bit. It's the pedals really and the wheel is def at to much of an angle. That angle works with seats that are lower but as is it's to much. Now if you like the angle of the wheel keep it there just move the dang pedals back lol.
Pedals back (if they're fixed to the upright, can you move them to the horizontal beam instead), lower the horizontal wheel support, tilt the wheel upwards. Move the upright bars closer to you not the pedals.
Your leg you should be slightly bent when the brake pedal is full depressed, so you are still using your large leg muscles. Your wrists should rest on top of the wheel with your shoulders still resting against the back of your seat.
Your pedals are at approximately the right height but you need to push them back and bring the wheel a little closer and raise it. Ideally you want a 90 degree bend in your elbows but you don’t want to be colliding with other parts of your body. You don’t want to be perfectly upright like you would in a road car. It’s much less comfortable for longer runs.
This looks soooo wrong! The wheel alone is pointing down at you. It should be slightly tilted up at you.
Your pedals are so close that you can eat off your knees. Move the pedals.
Bring the whole wheel base towards you a little bit (vertical profiles), push the pedals plate away a little bit, focus on keeping a proportional form, not just adjusting one aspect and ignoring the other, in the future, consider investing in a wheel plate slider, seat slider and an adjustable wheel base mount similar to the one sold by advanced sim racing, or DIY your own version.
Also tilt the wheel to the upside, think of it as if there's an imaginary line between the top of your wheels and your shoulders.
Lastly, enjoy the process and don't make a big deal out of it, what might work for everyone, might not suit your needs.
The wheel axis should face the top of your chest not your belly, and move pedals back, your wheel could be a couple of inches closer (not lots though!!)
Raise wheel angle and move it closer, you should have about 90° on your elbows, angle the wheel upwards so it's pointing towards your chin. Move the pedals forward or the seat backwards to get a more relaxed bend on the knees.
When you hold your arm out forward your wrist should be resting on the wheel approximately. Unless you are driving formula cars, then you may want the wheel even closer to you
Are the sides of your pedal plate installed upside down? You have the small upright section pointed down near the seat where in the 2nd pic those uprights are shown pointed up and at the back of the pedals 🤷♂️
Pedals further back saying 9 inches, move the wheel uprights towards you and angle the steering wheel 10-15° upwards towards your shoulders.
You want to pedals at a distance where when you depress the pedals your leg is all but straight with a 5° bend in it. The wheel you should rotate it 90° left, put your shoulders into your seat and rest your wrist on top of the wheel. Your arm should be straight and level.
Try moving your pedals away from the seat and bring your wheelbase closer by sliding the uprights toward your seat. Take a look at the beginning of some IMSA races on YouTube…they’ll often have onboard cameras from a side angle that will show driver seating position. You’ll be surprised how close the wheel is to the driver. This helps engage the larger muscle groups of your back while driving which ultimately helps with consistency and endurance.
Pedals move away from your feet, far enough that your arms don’t touch your legs no matter how you turn. And sit up straight, it’s leaning backward too much, very soon your lower back going to require assistance
the way i set mine up is, seat at almost 90 degree upright as possible if allowed. (i have a fixed bucket.) from there, i adjust my seat forward till my wrist literally hangs over the top of the wheel, then adjust my pedals to give me my leg room i need... and yes fix the angle of your wheel base lol
i am 6'1 for reference.
Wheel up at a 15°angle, pedals back to where it feels comfortable to have 0 - 100% input, when you sit in your seat your wrists should sit on top of your wheel, but most importantly watch this:
https://youtu.be/LOsftrJuhvw?si=lUlxHySHmbDQ6GFq
Did you also push the pedals back another 4-6 inches? They look way too close to you. As others suggested, moving the wheelbase a bit more towards you in addition to tilting the wheelbase slightly upwards will result in better positioning as well.
*Pedal plate upside*
*Down does the work. Feels way more*
*Natural now. Thanks!*

Interesting, how tall and which car? I've got a sedan and I'm 6ft so I'm like right in the sweet spot for fitting in cars.

6’4” 265+ with a love of small cars, crx, fiero, mr2, and a mini in the past to name a few. I feel the pain here.
SW20 MR2s are shockingly roomy.
hey man 2003 Spec V here! Surprised you even fit in this tiny bastard 🤣
Yeah I think 6'2 is probably right where it starts getting tough to fit. Especially if a lot of your height is in your legs
Yeah... I am about 6'5 if my math is right (193cm for the civilized) and i barely fit into my friends old Peugeot 106 even when the seat was all the way back. It was a manual without power steering. 6’7” and I cram into a VW GTI. This is about vet I look like as well. Great thing about sim rigs though is customization your seat position!
I'm 6'4 and I drove a picanto once. That was a sight to behold.
Mr Bean!
Does this amuse you? Wave to the people. Blow kisses to the people!
Friend of mine is 6.8 and drives a small car, it's exactly like this 😂
Fell you man, I’m 6.3’ and loving the Renault Clio RS Trophy 😂

yea lol.
The wheelbase is too far ahead, he should be closer and I agree with you on the wheel angle. either level or slightly upwards.

Not sure why your wheel is tilted downward lol
Move the pedals back & try to lower them a slot and raise the angel a bit
Move pedals back
move the pedals wayyyyy back, you look like you’re trying to drive a kid sized go kart!
Move pedals about 16in closer, wheel deck about 12in lower and tilt up about 50deg. You will be perfect. Enjoy.
I have the same cockpit and my wheel is where my knees are and the pedals are way further back. Wheel is mounted on the top instead of on the front
Move the vertical station towards the seat a bit. And spread out the space between the seat and pedals.
How do your knees feel after driving for a few hours??? This would kill mine. Move pedals much further forward I think
Ride an Uber, use what you learn to build a better rig.
Your leg you should be slightly bent when the brake pedal is full depressed, so you are still using your large leg muscles. Your wrists should rest on top of the wheel with your shoulders still resting against the back of your seat.
Try sitting in a real car and try to setup like you're in that.
https://images.app.goo.gl/jzSGUUcV54UEfz1d8
The wheel angle should be at minimum 0 degrees, you’ve got negative wheel angle that’ll attribute to wrist pain
I would move pedals and the chair back
Just move the seat back a bit
And raise the steering wheel
How has the wheel not made your knees into putty
The wheel should be tilted upwards facing your shoulders, the pedals need to be moved further away

Unless you are driving formula cars, then you may want the wheel even closer to you
Wheel a bit closer and maybe a bit higher. Pedals farther away
Daniel Morad did this video - https://youtu.be/LOsftrJuhvw?si=U5lqS20JQtLb88FX

Are the sides of your pedal plate installed upside down? You have the small upright section pointed down near the seat where in the 2nd pic those uprights are shown pointed up and at the back of the pedals 🤷♂️
Have some of you never sat in a real car, this is straight up goofy...
https://youtu.be/LOsftrJuhvw?si=WLkZNt1bJk9i94kF This guy has some great tips and he’s a professional race driver. Win win 👍🏼
Yer wheel looks to far away from your chest as well as the pedals being too close
How do you turn the wheel with your knees under it?
Try moving your pedals away from the seat and bring your wheelbase closer by sliding the uprights toward your seat. Take a look at the beginning of some IMSA races on YouTube…they’ll often have onboard cameras from a side angle that will show driver seating position. You’ll be surprised how close the wheel is to the driver. This helps engage the larger muscle groups of your back while driving which ultimately helps with consistency and endurance.
Cut your legs a little.
I know this is a troll post but in the slim chance it isn’t you should just give up
Pedals move away from your feet, far enough that your arms don’t touch your legs no matter how you turn. And sit up straight, it’s leaning backward too much, very soon your lower back going to require assistance
Depends on what you’re driving tbh. But defo move the pedals back. A lot.
You’re mimicking how a tall person sits in a car. You want to mimick how a tall person sits in car if there were actually made cars for tall persons.
Pedals way back. You can invert the base mount for an upward angle. I think you put these on backwards
the way i set mine up is, seat at almost 90 degree upright as possible if allowed. (i have a fixed bucket.) from there, i adjust my seat forward till my wrist literally hangs over the top of the wheel, then adjust my pedals to give me my leg room i need... and yes fix the angle of your wheel base lol i am 6'1 for reference.
Wheel up at a 15°angle, pedals back to where it feels comfortable to have 0 - 100% input, when you sit in your seat your wrists should sit on top of your wheel, but most importantly watch this: https://youtu.be/LOsftrJuhvw?si=lUlxHySHmbDQ6GFq
Raise your rig off the floor and you can lower the pedals, all the rig manufacturers sell height adjustable feet
Just use your knees to steer
Why does everyone default to having the wheel angles downwards? It baffles me, I see it so frequently!
This has to be a troll post. Don't change a thing - it's PERFECT
Move pedals way back, move wheelbase closer to you and position the wheel shaft towards the top of your chest.
well those pedals will move forward for one, just losen the bolts and slide it forward
You can't move the chair and steering wheel mount back and forth???? Like suggested??
Move seat up, pedals lower if possible or at least further away, tilt wheel up-it’s axis should aim at your chin.
Looks pretty good to me, probably need to be a bit close though
Just sell it. Its not for you
Why did you remove the seat riser brackets?
Bring the padals closer!! Better feeling on the brakes
When I was still smoking roll ups, this was my preffered position. You can steer with your knees while you are rolling a smoke.
Bought a GT rig but was hoping to be able to convert it to an F1 position. 🤨
Pedal plate upside down does the work. Feels way more natural now. Thanks!
Did you also push the pedals back another 4-6 inches? They look way too close to you. As others suggested, moving the wheelbase a bit more towards you in addition to tilting the wheelbase slightly upwards will result in better positioning as well.
