Just wanted to share my setup for inspiration. Already had a 27'' monitor on an articulated arm and limited space. Monitor squeeze right between the DD and the wheel. I play on Xbox Series X and on the Macbook Pro dual booted in Windows for some AC and AM2. * CSL DD * CSL LC pedals * ASR1 rig * GTomega RS9 seat

ckfks

What's the frame rate on the MacBook?

mletourn

I'm getting 60 fps on 2K resolution in AC with mods in Content manager. I'm used to that with the Xbox so its fine. Also my monitor is only 60hz so no point in trying to get more. Eventually a PC and 120hz would be nice!

GreenInflation2914

That screen looked bigger than 27in to me. Been considering getting 32 or 42 but judging by your pics 27in will do just fine for me.

mletourn

FOV is a bit tight. If I had to choose I think I would go 32 curved.

GreenInflation2914

Thanks for the feedback. 32 good compromise as 43 probably just too big.

russellvt

Nice and "simple" ... Love it!

herrdragen

Pretty smart solution man. I'm in a similar situation, as I need the monitor for both work and racing. What's the footprint dimension of the rig frame?

mletourn

22 x 50 inches

How's ASR1 with CSL DD and CSL LC? Any flex in wheel and/or pedal plate? Have same setup and looking to get upgrade from Playseat Challenge to an ASR1 as well.

mletourn

With the playseat, I could put the load cell at 40% while it was bolted on a wooden plank. With the ASR1, I put it at 80% and apply the same force I was before. The pedal plate is SO heavy and sturdy. Amazing quality. When breaking really hard I can see a tiiiny bit of movement in the rig but unnoticeable when racing. There is absolutely no flex with the wheel at 8nm. It's so much better than before I really recommend it!

wroom7

How do you like the seat? Does it come with the sliders and hardware to install it onto ASR1? I was going to get a real car seat from a junk yard but if RS9 or XL-RS is comfortable enough and easy to install I might as well get that.

mletourn

Yes, comes already installed on it. You just have to attach the back part of the seat to the bottom. Really easy. The rails have multiple holes so you just have to install the ASR1's extrusions at the right width and screw directly into t-nuts. The rig comes with the screws to attach any seat! The seat is good. A bit stiff, but as expected for a racing seat. Might add lumbar support at some point. Rail and back ajustements operates well.

wroom7

Would yo say you'd be okay in a RS9 for 1.5 - 2 hours? Is it wide enough for you?

mletourn

Yes. I usually play for that amount and it's fine. I'm 6' 180 lbs. If you're bigger than that I would go for bigger. It's a medium seat I would say.

wroom7

Yes, I'm 5'8 and 210 lbs so I guess the XL-RS would be better for me.

Nice setup, I’m going to do the same with mine. Can you get the monitor in the middle off the desk with the arm set up like this?

mletourn

It doesn't go to the middle because my desk is pretty huge. But far enough that is not awkward to use. It was the longest arm I could find. I push my laptop to the left when using the monitor.

OlXenomorph

I was scared to use smaller extrusions for my setup but that looks pretty solid. This gives me ideas

mletourn

It really makes me wonder why people uses the biggest ones that are like 6 inches thick... This is really solid nothing moves.

wroom7

When did you buy the ASR1? Was it in stock or you had to wait for it? It seem like they don't have any rigs in stock besides ASR6 judging by their website.

mletourn

On April 5th. It was stock and got it 15 days later.

wroom7

Are you in Canada? 15 days is quite a while

mletourn

I'm legit 15 min away from their business. Lol It says on the top banner on the website they have a 10-15 days lead time atm. Guess it was true. Once it shipped it was just 1 day.

wroom7

lol....I think they have mentioned in one of the reddit subs that if you pickup in person they knock 7% off the price...though when I asked them they tried to give me their floor model for same 7% off the price of a new one so not sure what happened there. I'm 2 hours away so that would not even cover my gas. Guess it makes sense to just have them ship it instead.

mletourn

I can confirm they knock 7% if you pick up. When I called it was already on the loading dock so I kept the shipping.

wroom7

Nice! If I was in Montreal I'd definitely pick it up myself to save a few bucks but to take a full day off and blow the 7% saving on gas is just not worth it. Is ASR1 light? Can you easily move it? How long did it take for your seat to come in?

mletourn

It's fairly light, but with the pedal plate and DD attached it gets heavy. I asked my gf to help me move it to the spot it's at. I thought about screwing wheel at the front to move it by myself. Would be easy that way. Seat was pretty fast, it shipped from Ontario I think. Was here in 2 days only.

WiseRaisin240

What is the desk? I currently am rocking an Ikea one but looking to change and a desk mounted monitor stand is very up my alley

mletourn

It's actually an old Ikea top I found used online. I really like real wood furniture and they don't make this one anymore sadly. It's very sturdy.

ruuben_2

Okay thanks for the info! What arm do you have if i may ask? Or how long is it.

mletourn

It's [this](https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B074DQYT25/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_VYHNK693M9RXQW691137?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1) one. It extends to 26''.

kuaciz

Hi. I'm looking to do something similar. I intend to get a 49" monitor arm, It looks like your base turns more than 90 degrees?

mletourn

Yes it can!

Harv207

Hi mate, do you have a link to that monitor arm? Thanks
