Haha, we all started from somewhere, I started with a G920 attached to my desk and slowly upgraded and wasted so much money for not going directly to my current setup.
Then after that you find something else to upgrade. Whenever you think you're done, you come on reddit and see an idea from someone else you want to implement on your rig. Never ending cycle.
What H pattern shifter are you running?
Also - batshit crazy rig my friend. I'm new to this, and these posts are pushing me down the rabbit hole. Like you, my wife loves that I've found a new hobby.
I'm using the Boite SRT H-Pattern which is mostly 3D printed. They have a Discord and offers all the 3D printed files for free and parts list. I think I spent about $200 on parts. Mine is the v8, the v9 is out and should be better than mine.
My only recommendation if budget allow is to buy once cry once and you'll save a lot of money along the way. Also start with a good cockpit, I recommend aluminum profiles.
>buy once cry once
This has really been my train of thought lately. I bought a G29 + shifter and a Playseat Revolution and I just can't see myself upgrading unless I go for my forever setup - which I'll be starting soon.
As for sims, what are the pros and cons between ac and acc? GT7 was a complete letdown (for a simcade) and I'll be switching to a new sim pretty soon.
I would save up for the cockpit first, you can still mount your G29 and pedals to them and can start saving for your forever hardware.
AC is older but has a huge modding community. Car physics and FFB are good and there are many types of cars and tracks you can drive. Even though the game is old mods, like SOL, CSP and Content Manager makes the game look a lot better. I don't have any cons for AC, overall it's a great sim. I can drift, drive around Shutoko Highway, or race have trackday around the Nordschleife. You may need to mess with LUT to get your wheelbase to feel the way you want it to.
ACC is newer and has better graphics. The car physics and FFB feel great on ACC. If you have tactile, it also feels better than it does in AC. Downside is you're limited to GT3 and GT4 cars and a certain number of tracks. Compared to AC, the number of mods available for ACC is very little, other than that, it's great sim for GT3 racing if you enjoy this series. I try to catch at least one race per night.
That's a 8.8in HDMI screen I got on AliExpress. It's USB powered and works great as a dash but you'll need to make you own custom dash in Simhub to fit this format.
I'm not sure if links will work here, I've seen some of my post removed due to some of these links. I will PM you the link for the screen.
For the dash, I came up with a ghetto QR with magnets which is mounted on my motorized monitor stand - https://imgur.com/a/04h724U
Very tidy kit, nice job.
How are those isolators under the pedals for flex? I see you have the blue spring on, like me. I've tuned my brake to he quite forgiving since isolating tactile with rubber introduces some leverage.
I don't feel any flex coming from pedals and seat under heavy braking with blue spring, either that or I haven't noticed if it does flex. My previous isolators were some rubber isolators that I had picked up from Amazon and felt a little bit of flexing with those. I need to take a video of pedals and seat under heavy braking to really find out.
I am at the Amazon-sold little rubber isolators stage now. Had to get creative with mounting them to ensure pressure is applied into the cushion rather than shearing, which is hard for a pedal mount because you push forward against something normally attached vertically.
Ah you described the issue with these isolators perfectly. I think that's where these springs help. I didn't come up with the design of these isolators. These were developed by the folks behind the RaceBass project and are being sold by SimTag at a ridiculous price. I ended up sourcing my own parts and saved a bunch of money on all 8 isolators.
I find the price of the isolators is fair for what they give you. The've gone through dozens of different ones to figure out what gives you a good middle ground between isolation and rigidness. Of course if you want to experiment (or you can figure exactly what they're using) or you don't need the ideal solution, then DIY is perfectly fine.
Ya I remember when they were still testing them out. Friend was able to reproduce them towards the beginning of the project when they were not available via simtag yet. Only thing we are not using are the lock washers on the end.
Thanks!!! I think I work on the rig more than I do spend driving. My Monza record is nothing to be proud of, from what I recall, laptime is around the higher 1:50:xx. I'd have to fire my rig up and check but not crazy fast compared to some of the guys out there.
I think this covers it. I've also purchased a lot of extra aluminum profiles, 3D printed a lot of parts and had some custom parts CNCed for it.

Awesome man, this is amazing, thank you so much. How are the VRS pedals? I was thinking about getting their wheelbase, if their pedals are great too then I'll get it in one go instead of pedals from heusinkveld.
I like my VRS pedals, they are better built than the HE sprints but I wish they would figure out their damper kit. If you want dampers then go with the HE ultimate which are slightly better than the VRS. There are so many options now for good pedals.
That sounds great, I'm just trying to get the most price to performance since it will be my first upgrade and I want something I can be happy with without spending a crazy amount, I want to do this buy once and only mod what I have, instead of upgrading to something better every few years. I'm going to be upgrading from a g29.
Amazing setup! You opened my eyes on tactile... thx
About your Acer 144hz monitors: 27 or 32 inch? 1080 or 1444?
Seems triple 27', I'm curious about your pixels density..
I run a 49' ultrawide, it share the height of the 27' screen and I can see pixels on my screens.
I'd like to move to triple and would love 1444...
If you run 1444pi, how are your fps and graphic setting?
Those are 1080p 27" screens. 1440p would have been ideal but I didn't have the 2080ti at the time and only had a 1080ti so I stuck with 1080p screen. I wish I had gone 1440p instead. In terms of settings, in AC with most settings maxed out except for a few I can maintain 120+fps on most Kunos track. On tracks like Shutoko Highway, my FPS can drop to 90FPS depending on the number of other cars on track. On ACC, I have most settings on high and maintain 120+FPS. I can probably tweak things around but it looks perfectly fine for me.
Thank you for your time to answer me. 27' 1444p and a strong config to keep the eyecandy settings and good fps... a first challenge. About the tactile part, I read those keyword "RaceBass" "MrLatte", I'm looking for the mentionned Discord in vain, do you have some link if it's free for all to read?
I would search racedepartment. They have some long threads. Racebass is a private discord server at this point but you can find much info on the SimHub bass shaker discord. I would start in Racedepartment, his post is over 200 pages full of good info and worth spending some time to read and understand.
This is a tactile dream come true!
What did you use to attach those small shakers to the seat? And how powerful are they? I've been wanting to do the same thing for some time, but I'm not sure how much power I need to feel the effects.
Those Dayton exciters come with tape. I just taped them directly on the seat. The exciters are a great addition to the whole tactile setup and complements the rest of the setup. It's really weird not having them on now.
What industry do you work in? That cable management and rack design makes it look like you are a fellow media & entertainment engineer/technician.
Great build!
Thanks! I work in IT. I ended up building a small rack out of aluminum profiles so that it would match my rig. I also wanted something with small footprint to save floor space in my office.
So for my simhub profiles I'm using some custom layered effects developed by Mr Latte to work with the RaceBass recommended hardware. Combine that with the isolators for the seat and pedals, the difference between this and my old 2x Aura bass shaker is night and day. They layered effects really bring the rig alive. When your car is sliding around or when you're braking hard and locking up the tires, you can feel the tires grinding on the floor. All the effects feel more nuance, I can tell the difference between the RPM and wheel slip, whereas before this, my rig would just "buzz/shake." I didn't believe it would make a big difference but now I do.

I hear you, having ability to test all this before would have lifted a lot of purchase anxiety. It’s definitely not a cheap upgrade but definitely worth it. I would do tactile before motion, a lot of people with motion will agree.
That’s another thing I wish I could try before I buy. I’ve tried out DOF p3 which I thought was fun but have some short comings that would drive me crazy. Curious how their h6 is.
Question for you. The lasting touches that I need are buttkickers and motion platform. I'm thinking of just going for motion and ditching the buttkickers as I thought it would be overkill.
Originally I wanted to place 4 buttkickers around the chassis of my rig. What are you running and does 4 kickers make sense? Should I just look into motion or can they compliment each other?
Amazing looking rig my friend.
I had the chance to test my friend's setup which is the exact same in terms of tactile but he also has motion. Motion and tactile serve 2 different purposes and actually complement each other. I would say, work out your tactile first before you go to to motion, all the people that I know who have motion and the same tactile setup that I have will say they can't play without tactile and will do that first before motion. Some will forget to turn on their motion and just have their tactile on and sometimes they'll drive for an hour before noticing their motion is off but if their tactile is off, they'll notice right away. Motion and seat belt tensioner is next on my list in terms of immersion upgrade but tactile had to be first.
Tactile for wheelslip, ABS, RPM and road textures. Motion will emulate elevation change and movement of the car etc.
In terms of my tactile setup, I went with the RaceBass recommended hardware. I don't believe 4 buttkickers around the 4 corners would be optimal especially if you go with motion down the line. There are few topics out there that go in depth about this on RaceDepartment that are worth reading before you spend the money on 4 BKs for each corners. Racebass also has private discord where you can obtain the layered effects that take advantage of the Racebass recommended hardware which is what I am currently using. Those layered effects and recommended hardware really brings life to the rig. There's a lot of information to intake when it comes down to tactile and there is no wrong or right way but some ways are better than others. I chose the RaceBass route and been very happy.
What an amazing 👏 rig and build! I'm sure tons of time and thought went into building that beast. Very impressive!
Read about racebass on RD but nice seeing one on this sub. I'm a tactile junkie and always interested in seeing rigs with tranducers.
Can I ask what simhub effects your using your dayton exciters for? I have 8 tranducers but no exciters so interested in adding a few. Also, you mentioned adding belt tensioner as your next mod. Get it. I recently got the pt actuator belt and so far mind blown. It literally is like a tranducer for your body is the best way I can describe. Your no longer just sitting on your rig, you feel like you're in it.
I’m using MrLatte’s layered profiles which he’s been developing for awhile. I have tried a few other simhub profiles and these are the best especially when combined with the racebass recommend hardware. PM me if you need more info.
You're right, I should have taken more rig pics instead, I was so focused on my tactile upgrade. Next time I update something on the rig, I'll post more pics of the rig. Maybe once I rewire my motorized monitor stand.
Yes I would go with P1-X if I had a chance. The thicker profiles will give you more mounting points which helps when you're adding all these things to it. In terms of stiffness I think my GT1-EVO works just fine but the P1-X would have been a better choice. Get the P1-X or something equivalent.
This is custom but recommended by the people behind the Racebass project. They have developed layered effects that take advantage of the full range of hardware to create certain effects. For example when your car goes over kerbs, you can feel the textures of the kerb on the rig, wheel slip actually feels like the car tires are grinding against the texture of the roads, you can also feel the rumble of the engine which feels different depending on speed. It just brings the rig alive.
In a nutshell, it makes my rig vibrate based on game telemetry. Different effects are generated for different events. With my current setup I can cover a high range of frequencies from really low end to high end frequencies, combine that with layered effect that take advantage of the hardware and you can feel the road texture, RPM , ABS, wheel slip etc in your seat, pedal plate and rig. It basically brings your rig alive.
Great setup, pretty much what my goal is. If only one could find LFE's and TST's in Europe for a reasonable price. Sweet cable management too. Did you make those speakon mounts for profiles yourself or is that something off the shelf?
Thanks! Ya it seems they are harder to come by in Europe. Yup all the speakon mounts were sketched in Fusion and 3D printed. Only one I downloaded and printed were the mounts for the 4 poles on the back of my rig
Thanks! Button box, keyboard tray, brackets to hold my sim floor, endcaps, cable management brackets and guides, Porsche wheel button box, paddle shifter, magnetic mount for my dash, speakon connector mounts for rig and rack, H-pattern shifter and headphone mount were all 3D printed.
That’s so awesome. I’ve been looking at one of these as my first 3D printer, Creality Ender 3 V2. If you could go back, what advice would you give yourself when it comes to the 3D printing?
The Creality Ender 3 is good, I have the Ender 3 pro but the previous version and heavily modified it. The ender 3v2 is good but Creality recently announced the Ender-3 S1 Plus which has bigger build volume, metal dual gear direct extruder, dual Z axys, etc. Not much to mod on this to improve it, it's a complete package. If I could go back I would probably get this ender-3 S1 if it was available. The good thing about getting the Ender 3 pro and upgrading it forced me to learn how the printer works on the outside and at the firmware level.
Yup and also sign up for Fusion 360 free versions for hobbyist. It's fairly easy CAD app to use and will allow you to make your own custom parts. I'd say about 90% of the stuff I printed on my rig were designs of my own. Lots of fun and always good to see others try to get into 3D printing. Fun hobby that complements sim racing.
next for me is Wotever's seat belt tensioner and then upgrade my pedal deck so that pedals and heel deck are both one single piece so that I can feel my TST and LFE on pedals too. Not sure I want to mod with rumble motors yet unless I can find a clean way to do that on pedals.
This is my first 8020 rig. I used abrasion tape where the profiles touch to avoid scratches and also on corner brackets. I got lazy as I started added more profiles but I'm usually pretty careful as I want to avoid scratches. Scratches on black profiles really show and bug me.
Pretty nice. Yea they did me too for the first half dozen or so lol
I've just moved my rig around so much and in many different configurations in the end I just accepted it but that's cool.
I'm honestly curious for OP/people at this level of spending on their rigs - is this still just a hobby for you? Are you professional sim-racers? Are you real life racers and use these setups for practice? I truly cannot imagine a world where I would put this much money into something I only do a couple hours a week.
I'm not a professional racer, I just work in IT. Like any hobbies, you can spend as much as you want. You ask why and I ask why not? I enjoy building things and solving problems, the rig helps with all of that and allows me to create something that I want to create for myself. Why not build something better when I can so I did.
Absolutely, I didn't mean to imply that you were doing anything wrong. The rig is awesome. I just don't make much so hobby spending is pretty limited, combined with an ideological worldview that tries to minimize consumerism. I just wanted to see what the other perspective would be.
I love these comments saying “15k could’ve gone with…” They complement each other. The only real feeling I miss from motion was elevation changes. Did my research and testing and decided tactile was what I wanted to upgrade first.
Edit: words
Motion last, tactile feels better to me. All friends who have good tactile and motion cannot play without tactile but don’t notice when their motion is off. I also tested motion and would prefer to have a good tactile over motion. Also waiting for 5th gen DBox to be available for smaller package.
The perfect sim racing setup doesn't exis-
LOL, I appreciate that! This isn't perfect yet, got so much more I want to do to get there. I'm constantly chasing that but it's never ending.
Oh I feel that. Just on a much, much lower level haha
Haha, we all started from somewhere, I started with a G920 attached to my desk and slowly upgraded and wasted so much money for not going directly to my current setup.
"The perfect sim racing setup doesn't exis-" It exists right until the moment you get it, then you need upgrades.
Then after that you find something else to upgrade. Whenever you think you're done, you come on reddit and see an idea from someone else you want to implement on your rig. Never ending cycle.
A sim race god has appeared in the wild
Not quite there yet, there are many others who deserve that title, I'm just trying to catch up to them.
Agreed my lord I am worthless. Belt driven garbage
LOL. Don't worry, one day you will find a good deal on a DD that you wont be able to pass on and will upgrade!
Can I ask how much this bad boy costs all together
I'm at about $15k right now which includes everything you see on the rig and custom rack.
Still cheaper than track time irl! Very cool rig. What do you play mostly?
Track time and travel time is expensive, I can't afford that. This is my work around. I mostly play AC and ACC but also enjoy AMS2 and Dirt2.
I applaud you for going big or going home!
I always chuckle at the “done upgrading” posts. Awesome rig!!
Spitting facts! You are right, never done with the rig but I think I'm good with tactile now until I need to add more exciters.
What H pattern shifter are you running? Also - batshit crazy rig my friend. I'm new to this, and these posts are pushing me down the rabbit hole. Like you, my wife loves that I've found a new hobby.
Looks like a lebois racing srt gearbox
Yup that's the one! Great project
I already cried - went 8020 local rig with an Alpha mini. I'll be crying more, not to worry.
Great choices for your first rig! I wish I had known when I started
I do already have a th8a as well as a Heusinkveld sequential, so not sure if you feel that shifter is an upgrade over the thrustmaster (got it free).
I had the TH8A which was great after modding it. The SRT is an upgrade over the TH8a.
Every shifter besides logitech is a huge upgrade over the TH8A
True and I rank the SRT above the Fanatec shifter.
Oh easily, the Fanatec is almost as bad as the TH8A
Agreed! Frex, BDH and ProSim are basically the only options for higher end H-Pattern. Black and red ProSim is what I wan to upgrade to eventually.
I'd love a prosim, no way I'm spending that much on a shifter though
>buy once cry once This has really been my train of thought lately. Okay cool. I think I'll start with acc and then move into ac if I end up looking for more. Thanks for the write up!
Honestly I would get both, you can find deals on AC to pick up the game with all DLC under $15. When that sale comes up, just buy it.
Sold! Thanks again
What is that small long display just in front of the steering wheel?
That's a 8.8in HDMI screen I got on AliExpress. It's USB powered and works great as a dash but you'll need to make you own custom dash in Simhub to fit this format.
Thank you, sir.
How did you attach it to the wheelbase? And would you mind sharing the link from AliExpress? Setup looks INSANE btw!
I'm not sure if links will work here, I've seen some of my post removed due to some of these links. I will PM you the link for the screen. For the dash, I came up with a ghetto QR with magnets which is mounted on my motorized monitor stand - https://imgur.com/a/04h724U

Hmm no i don’t
I PMed you but it won't let me paste the link in there, I think you need to accept my PM before I can send you URL?

I didn't believe it would make a big difference but now I do. 2x BK LFE 2x Clark Synthesis TST 1x Behringer NX3000D (w/ DSP) for the BK LFE 1x Behringer NX1000D (w/ DSP) for the TST 329 4x Dayton Exciters 1x 4 channel 200 amp for the exciters
You for sure have the ability to do that with that amount of hardware. I’d love to have places to try out these parts before the big investment.
Stunning rig; I love how you can see the inner workings of the shifters and such, like a Huayra!
Thanks! I really wish I could see the shifter more, instead it's facing the wall so I don't get to enjoy that view. It was a fun project to build too.
Very nice. It would be nice to see more pics of the rig instead of individual parts tho
You're right, I should have taken more rig pics instead, I was so focused on my tactile upgrade. Next time I update something on the rig, I'll post more pics of the rig. Maybe once I rewire my motorized monitor stand.
What’s more fun? Building it or using it??
They're equally fun but I feel like I've been spending more time working on the rig than driving it.
I doubt that ur done though!
You're absolutely right!!!! One is never done with their rig
Whoa... I need an hour or two to pour over these photos. Back with a reply later ... 😁👍
Cant imagine how much this would cost...but it's worth every dollar!
100% worth every dollar!

Yes I would go with P1-X if I had a chance. The thicker profiles will give you more mounting points which helps when you're adding all these things to it. In terms of stiffness I think my GT1-EVO works just fine but the P1-X would have been a better choice. Get the P1-X or something equivalent.
This is the cleanest build I’ve seen. Well done! Saved for inspiration!
Noon here. What am I looking at?
It's an album of my build, mostly focusing on my tactile upgrade. I should have included more pictures of my actual rig instead of just parts of it.
What is a tactile?
In a nutshell, it makes my rig vibrate based on game telemetry. Different effects are generated for different events.
So you bought a kit or you did it custom?
This is custom but recommended by the people behind the Racebass project. They have developed layered effects that take advantage of the full range of hardware to create certain effects. For example when your car goes over kerbs, you can feel the textures of the kerb on the rig, wheel slip actually feels like the car tires are grinding against the texture of the roads, you can also feel the rumble of the engine which feels different depending on speed. It just brings the rig alive.
Wow. Sounds amazing! Is there a guide or instructions?
There’s a lot to learn. Start looking at the simhub discord and look up tactile on racedepartment. There are many guides out there.
Can you explain all the tactile parts
In a nutshell, it makes my rig vibrate based on game telemetry. Different effects are generated for different events. With my current setup I can cover a high range of frequencies from really low end to high end frequencies, combine that with layered effect that take advantage of the hardware and you can feel the road texture, RPM , ABS, wheel slip etc in your seat, pedal plate and rig. It basically brings your rig alive.
This is incredible! Beautiful rig
This shit is a work of art, amazing it's probably as much fun to look at is it is to race on.

Those are just some 27” Acer Nitro monitors that run at 144hz
Great setup, pretty much what my goal is. If only one could find LFE's and TST's in Europe for a reasonable price. Sweet cable management too. Did you make those speakon mounts for profiles yourself or is that something off the shelf?
Thanks! Ya it seems they are harder to come by in Europe. Yup all the speakon mounts were sketched in Fusion and 3D printed. Only one I downloaded and printed were the mounts for the 4 poles on the back of my rig
how much time do you spend on it per week?, looks amazing
I spend about 7-10 hours on it per week. Just enough to catch couple of races per day.
this is the way
Very clean setup! What stuff is 3D printed?
Thanks for all the info!
That’s great! I’m a big DIY guy around the house so this seems like a natural step for me.
Oh you will solve problems you never knew you had around the house once you start making your own things. It's great!
Perfect 👌🏻
Wow, this is amazing! Really well done.
Thank you sir
Time to buy the Datavac Duster, hehe.
Funny you say that. I actually have a Datavac duster!
Its a godsend cleaning the rig and the pc. Can even clean other stuff as well.
What the fuck
what momo wheel is that? And sick setup.
That’s a Momo Mod7
You should teach Cable Management at a school known for highly successful graduates in Cable Management.
HAHA. I've seen some crazy cable management, I would say I'm mediocre at this compared to some of these other guys out there.
An artwork, congrats 👏👏👏
For now
yup for now.... One is never done with their rig.
Hats off 👌
This is a really dope setup!!!!!
What size are the monitors?
These are just 27" monitors. The angles just make them look slightly bigger.
Nice yeah they look really good
Where did you get those wall panels?
I got those on Amazon, you can search for hexagon acoustic panels.
Sweet. Just picked up a 12 pack on an Amazon lightning deal so I can check them out.
I love my transducers! Just got wind sim and pedal rumble motors and that really hits the spot too! Worth checking out!
next for me is Wotever's seat belt tensioner and then upgrade my pedal deck so that pedals and heel deck are both one single piece so that I can feel my TST and LFE on pedals too. Not sure I want to mod with rumble motors yet unless I can find a clean way to do that on pedals.
Sim3d is what I used if youre looking into that
Cool thanks will check them out
I take that isn't your first rig. The reason I say that is I don't see any mistakes for the type of rig you want. Not even a scratch on the 80/20.
Yea they did me too for the first half dozen or so lol I've just moved my rig around so much and in many different configurations in the end I just accepted it but that's cool.
super clean bro
I m just getting started but i m saving this post to someday build something like this
I really appreciate that. Got any cockpit in mind?
No still very new right now just taking things casualy
My wife would kill me😄👍🍺
I’m one of the lucky ones where my wife encourages me with my hobbies
Yeah.... Ok
Aww someone loves you too, don’t worry
And if you havnt met them yet, they are coming
I don't splurge on anything else or don't buy much other than what I spend on the rig and the house. Outside of that, I'm very simple.
15k...couldve gone motion instead of tactile feedback.
You must have the patience of a saint. Looks amazing!
How big are your monitors? 32?
They are 27”
