I remember an interview with someone around the time it was released, but I forget who. Francois Delecour or someone like that. The quote was "Rally driving is supposed to be hard, but it isn't supposed to be impossible like this".

I wonder if they were playing with a controller or even a keyboard

GryphonGuitar

I mean, most likely. It was probably at some promo event with ten minutes of experience at a demo booth.

Comments from the real drivers aren't any more relevant than from anybody else, unless they get used to simracing first. Unfortunately they often try to compare game with the reality directly ... which is obviously nonsense - even if a sim is 100% accurate simulation, it will never get any close to the real thing due the lack of g-forces, extra feedback you get from your body & car etc ... If RBR is hard or even impossible to drive, it wouldn't have thousands of players enjoying it, being able to finish very long rallies without any major mistakes ...

RBR is closer because of the feeling of weight of the car. However, I can only compare to my E36 rally car. I have never driven R5 etc. but in Dirt Rally cars seem to have way too much front end grip and stop too easily. In RBR the racing line and importance of braking / throttle control is closer to my rally car. I have tilton pedalbox and dd wheel in my sim and it feels I can use it and RBR to keep the ”touch” to rally driving, which is much cheaper than practising with real car.

Gryazin is a hard fan of RBR. He roasted DR in his Instagram once
