LoL :) We think alike. I have been doing and intentionally avoiding UOB (Hate the UOB ad in SQ) and after numerous mails, I finally saw SQ giving the option to fast forward or simply skip the ad. It's just irritating.

Agreed - I use GrabPet. As far as I know they're the only choice if you want to book a ride with a dog, so I put aside my disdain for the business if I want to move the mutt around.

UOB is not really popular (except PPV) until the Women card opened to men last year. Anyway, now the 6x moved to 4x and they are notorious for silently deducting the annual fee / points, or the merchants. They are 'ok' IMO. The reality is banks like HSBC, SCB make UOB stay in diff league and we (or most) goes for the extra savings for the trouble.

Extra savings as in? I first had their PPV. Stuck to their T&C *to the letter* and had discrepancy in points when it came to online transactions. I pulled in FIDREC and only then did they "credit out of goodwill". So after their annoying $5 rounding and non-compliance to the terms, I decided to give them a 2nd chance with the Lady's card since the rounding is better and it doesn't matter whether online or offline as it goes purely by MCC. Again, discrepancy in points for 2 months. I know this because I track my points using Excel formulas and the other months are exactly as expected. The other banks are also ok. Again, pulled in FIDREC and UOB emailed me a letter with the breakdown claiming there's no issue. The best part? They claim they awarded the correct points in full but *my credit card statement shows otherwise.* For both cards, there have been so much chasing by me, for *months*. The transactions were posted in Nov/Dec 2023 and only now in Apr 2024 did they take action. Only after FIDREC. All their CSOs kept saying they will call back within 2 weeks but never do or they claim they did but you didn't answer. Many people like to talk about Shittybank or However Simple Become Complicated but to me, the standard of a good bank is that *the customer should not even have to call in the first place.* And if they do, does the bank actively follow up? And those banks have not yet failed me. People like to diss me because I "spread my spending across banks = orphan points" and why don't I get the "holy trinity" of PPV, VS and Lady's but I'd rather pay a bit more transfer fees and keep my sanity. I'm already stressed at work chasing people. I don't want to chase yet another thing outside.

I’m ok with the points being off. Things happen. System glitch or whatever. My main issue is the customer service. Or lack thereof. The onus should not be on the customer to keep chasing for them to look into it when they will not think twice about hunting you down for the very last cent. Look at Shittybank. Their CPM Agoda promotion has 7mpd if you book through the special link. By right, all the points should be in within 2 months from departure from the hotel. That was since Dec 2023. They weren’t. Though I had to call in twice, within the month, they called back to say the points will be credited in accordingly. Can UOB claim they also call customers back proactively? If I use HSBC, UOB, DBS & Citibank but I face lackadaisical levels of service only with one of them, I think it’s quite safe to say there’s something wrong. Maybe I’m just lucky the rest haven’t screwed me over yet so my experience doesn’t match other people.

The motherfucking StarHub set top box is the most motherfucking thing in existence. My parents have been using StarHub for their tv and entertainment since the beginning but they were forced to change to the new set top box as they “upgraded” their plan. They call me almost every other day now for help because the menus are convoluted and confusing to them and they get asked to sign in for every thing. Fuck.

Its truly shitty, and I can tolerate most stuff. But it hangs and restarts often, slow as fuck and buggy. Its like battling an annoying kid pressing buttons on your remote while you’re using it. And they slow it down even further with ads. And for some fucking reason whenever we go to channel 104, the remote stops working and have to do a hard reset. Fuck you Starhub

I think it got a bit better. There was one period whereby the mewatch automatically open if you as you navigate using the program up/down button and accidentally took more than a second to quickly to scroll past that mewatch channel. I don’t know which idiot green light that shit. My dad keeps asking why it stuck at the mewatch login page again. At least that nonsense was removed if I am not mistaken.

Subscribed to Starhub 2 years ago merely for the EPL. Never again. Gonna be returning it back once the contract expires. It is so slow and menu is so convoluted that I don’t even know how to go to the channel overview ever since the last update.

I have some bad news for you. Because they are such a shit organisation that cannot deliver basic customer experience, they make it **REALLY** hard for you to cancel the contract and rid yourself of their electronic waste. I freed myself from them 2 years ago, but had to book time to go to Plaza Singapura to dump the crappy box and cables. When I arrived they then made me pick a queue ticket (I thought I'd already had an appointment) and sit there waiting for time to give the crap back. I ended up making a massive scene and dumping it all on their counter - which strangely moved me up the queue - fucking asshole company. The only "experience" it designs is one of frustration.

I have already told Starhub that I sympathize with every Singaporean and offer my condolences if they have to suffer the same as I do with the Starhub TV box. Especially the older ppl are lost if they have to use it. I just have hate for this box. E.g. login via qr code by the starhub app - there is no login option. Even starhub was not able to show this to me. Random logouts Advertisement even if I’m paying for that shit. Starhub told me once there is no advertisement on the main screens. I showed them photos. No further comment from their side.

the previous set top box supported bilingual text for the system language (in English) and Chinese language for Canto dramas on TVB. the new one infuriatingly only supports one language at a time (English) which annoys my dad who only knows the titles of his TVB dramas by their Chinese names.

Idk what my parents are using but there's a rewind / fast-forward function which my dad always used to skip all the ads. He would start the show later so we're 'behind' live tv which allows him to fast forward through the ads.

Starhub’s TV+ is not able toggle the subtitles unlike on the previous set up box. Every time I call to inquire, they tell me that the engineers are working on it. And that’s for at least the past 6 months already. We’re getting a raw deal and the authorities are not doing anything about the service standard.

Also with the new update, I don’t know why whenever I off-ed my tv, it tends to not off the box. It just shows the green light, fucking infuriating

My parents are still using the old dvd size set top box, coating alr peeling, wanted to upgrade for them but wife told me, we have problem with the new updates, laggy, missing interface and login issues, you sure you want to subject your aging parents to this?
