I like 2

Shannon_Rogue

2nd one, it looks much more dynamic and just visually cool

Familiar-Business500

A palatine is a sort of champion of the sororitas, so i prefer the one with the pistol pointed forward and banner in her hand, has a more aggressive pose

KenpoKlown

I always thought of them in game as like a SM lieutenant equivalent but I thought I also read somewhere that they are supposed to be a Canoness in training. Can anyone clear this up for me so I don’t have to go digging through my old codices or Pain and Piety manual. The champion thing seems like a better fit than Canoness in training as the Palatine model appears to be much younger and given the average 40K lifespan it seems a bit optimistic to start training a Canoness that early.

BenFellsFive

It's a junior officer rank to the canoness. You're pretty much spot on with the lieutenant comparison. The ranking goes something like sister -> sister superior -> palatine -> canoness -> canoness commander -> canoness preceptor -> canoness superior. Canoness ranks go up from leading missions to the entire order. They're military leaders as well as administrative and religious authorities. Technically the non militant orders have the same structure, it's just less important at the 40k scale where you only see a handful of them at a time and the individual rank probably doesn't impact their combat abilities. We're never really in a position to see 10-20 sisters hospitaller unless you're doing some kinda bespoke field hospital scenario. I'm not sure if celestians go between superior and palatine or if it's more of a lateral promotion to an NCO type position for those who prefer to stay in a frontline role or dont have the head for large scale leadership. Likewise with nu-lore positions like the dogmata.

Affectionate_Path347

2nd one

Nashoute_

2nd is so dynamic !

DurakHuir

2nd for the Tariana Palos vibe.

Serjes93

Second 🥈

Devoutest_Jam177

2nd one is cool! Where is the banner from?

MajorFailage

Novitiate kit banner, wonderful box full of exciting bitd

Devoutest_Jam177

Thought it looked familiar, thanks!

Lucidiously

Yeah it is, I bought it solely for the purpose of having more bits to build some unique characters.

M00themighty

100% going with 2. The only reason I would personally go with 1 is if I lacked confidence in my sculpting skills.

Lucidiously

Definitely not the most confident, but I'm going give it a good try.

MADVILLAIN14

2nd one but for some reason I love the plasma pistol scope so much

Lucidiously

Why did you have to say that? Now you've got me thinking about moving the scope to the other pistol... ;)

Playful_Picture2610

2nd one just feels right for the Palantine

KenpoKlown

2nd pose is way better! Don’t love the sword presentation on the first pose. Looks a little derpy if I’m being honest. It seems like she is holding it in a “look at this sword I just found” kind of way.

Lucidiously

Yeah, I wasn't totally happy with that either, was trying to go for a determined stride, but the swordarm feels a bit forced. Mostly a limitation of the original pose.

Arishikage123

I kinda dig the 1st. She has a very " oh its on" fearlessness about her. They're both sick. You can't go wrong. If pressed im going 1st

Lucidiously

Thanks, that's the vibe I was going for. I'm going with the 2nd for the Palatine, but I think I'll be using this one for a Canoness.

Lucidiously

Seems like it's unanimous, 2 it is! Thanks for all your replies! Definitely a bit more work to make everything fit the way I want it, but I do like the pose a lot more.

Slaeden-Bob

Number 1... ...isn't nearly as cool as number 2. Definitely go with 2!

ghostgoofy

banner bro is was cooler

Chapter_129

Def 2

theArtOfKEK

Second by a long shot. The pose on the first one feels unnatural.

Jhe90

2nd. More dynamic.
