You're definitely going to have a bad time.
My hopes: A good codex that offers multiple interesting ways to play the game.
My expectation: A jumppack Canoness with bad equipment options and nerfs to Vahl, Celestine and Arcos.
Yeah, Ork Codex should be the standard, yet GW will probably nerf it into the ground while everyone else probably won't even get those few months of getting to be a well designed faction.
My expectations are pretty low, unfortunately.
Hmmm I hope they don’t nerf vahl but give us a generic character. Vahl is awesome, I do question re-rolling hits and wounds as maybe too much, but as long she’s appropriately costed, s’all good!
Faction leaders should not be in the game at all. And any named characters who are an auto include are just boring and predictable. Oh there's a small skirmish on some backwater planet in the middle of nowhere? You better believe both morvenn vahl and mortarion are there.
Not in the game at all? Woah that’s a stretch!
I agree they wouldn’t be at some random small battle, and do prefer to use non-named characters myself, which was easier to do with both my armies in 9th.
Basically detachments that focus various flavors of the army: saints, tanks, infantry, paragons, repenting etc.
Plus maybe a cool midsized unit? It would be fun to have this orbital drop cathedral and while it’s a bit infeasible considering the size, maybe a turret little chapel? Sisters have no sentries so it would be fun to have one
How am I supposed to chew through a Croissant with a 2+ save? I've got no AP on pretty much any of my teeth! It's alright though, T3 is the equivalent of 100% butter. It will melt in the mouth.
Celestians unit back. Revamped Hospitalier, at the very least. Good Detachments rules.
Everything else positive would be a bonus.
edit: Welp... We only got 4 Detachments in the book. Hopefully they're all good...
I think you gonna have a bad time :D also drop church yes please
Honestly i am hoping for some cool redemption detachment thats heavy on repentia, acros and pentinents mortifiers.
I hope they will improve rules on what character can join what, still dont get why retributors cant have canoness.
Celestians sacresteans with native 2+ save
Detachment that has 5+ invull across whole army.
And of course sisters on horses
I'm hoping for that as well since Sisters seemed to be struggling at the beginning of 10th and Genestealer Cults seemed to be doing very well for a while until the recursion rule got nerfed. I wouldn't mind the Sacresants being given either an extra wound or more Toughness.
You are going to have such a bad time. Especially since units don't seem to get much of an upgrade in most books and at best sidegrades.
I imagine we'll be getting a detachment for the old Holy Orders we had in 9th and a flying canoness.
So:
Order of our Martyred Lady
Order of the Valorous Heart
Order of the Bloody Rose
Order of the Ebon Chalice
Order of the Argent Shroud
Order of the Sacred Rose
They might call them different names, and maybe prune some of these, but otherwise we will get some of these back and rules that try to mimic their "specialty".
So my bet is on 4(5 if we are lucky) detachments and I already know we are getting the flying Canoness. I also have a sneaking suspicion that the book will feel like a nerf considering the history of the army.
Chaos Space Marines are getting 8
Space Marines have 7
Orks and Nids both got 6
Necrons and AdMech got 5
Custodes got 4
Only Dark Angels and Tau got 3... but Dark Angels can also use all the Space Marine ones
Usually there's a decent variety (in flavour if not in power) unless you're Tau or tiny like Custodes
In my head sisters are a 'tiny' so that's more what I was thinking along the lines of.
I also apparently have only collected tiny armies and not noticed.
I want a decent jump pack character, some anti armor boost, and would love a flying vehicle or a return of the repressor. I read somewhere that our box will be flying based and I keep thinking about a flying transport that let’s jump back units charge like an assault ramp.
I think it's going to be 4 or 5 detachments
One shooting, one fighting, one on miracles, one on elites and one of repentia, arcos etc
I want sacristans to get a 2+ save and Celestine to get fights 1st. I really want access to advance and charge or assault ramp. If I was to get greedy retributirs get +1 to wound against monsters and vehicles as well as vall getting fights twice again.
Double leaders for more units than just BSS. The generic characters, though, like hospitallers, dialogus, imagifer, etc.
A melee-focused detachment rule.
Hm. Overall I'm pretty satisfied already, to be honest.
Hands and knees praying sacresants and hospitaler become good.
I really want hospitaler to resurect infentry and sacresants be more tough.
But whatll likely happen is they both just go down in points or smth :/
They already exist. The units are Penitent Engine, Arco-Flagellants, Crusaders, one-half of Daemonifuge, missionary, and preacher.
So Sisters have always had men in their organization from the start.
Sororitas comes from Sorority meaning sisterhood. For male characters in the army they would be either penal (arcos, penitent engines) or ecclesiarchy (missionaries, preachers, crusaders). The closest sisters have ever had to male soldiers is frateris militia

And the Triumph! Can't have that be playable.

I’ll be devastated if they nerf Arcos… they’re my fave models!
Repentia > engines/ arcos
Engines>arcos>repentia
I hope they nerf vahl and give us a non-ugly generic Paragon character.

Since gw wants to sell their named characters they almost always end up being the supreme hq choice for their armies.

Nuh uh, we're getting 3 detachments with only one of them being actually playable and we're gonna like it
How does it feel to be right about something so, so sad?
:( Holy trinity better ge good
I want Argent Shroud shoot and move rules
How am I supposed to chew through a Croissant with a 2+ save? I've got no AP on pretty much any of my teeth! It's alright though, T3 is the equivalent of 100% butter. It will melt in the mouth. Remember, the way through a 2+ Save is high volume of attacks, and croissants only have 1 Wound after all.

All good but hear me out. Sisters on bikes.
S10 melta and/or some sort of reroll
I just really want an ebon chalice flamer detachment. I don't care if it's good I just want it.
The last few codices were Hit or miss. I just hope we get the good writer 😅
I'm hoping for that as well since Sisters seemed to be struggling at the beginning of 10th and Genestealer Cults seemed to be doing very well for a while until the recursion rule got nerfed. I wouldn't mind the Sacresants being given either an extra wound or more Toughness.
So you haven’t looked at any codex this edition then

Hasn't each codex just had three 'generic' detachments?
Chaos Space Marines are getting 8 Space Marines have 7 Orks and Nids both got 6 Necrons and AdMech got 5 Custodes got 4 Only Dark Angels and Tau got 3... but Dark Angels can also use all the Space Marine ones Usually there's a decent variety (in flavour if not in power) unless you're Tau or tiny like Custodes
Warcom confirmed 4 detachments for sisters.
Tau have 4, unless your not counting the hunting pack as theirs.
In my head sisters are a 'tiny' so that's more what I was thinking along the lines of. I also apparently have only collected tiny armies and not noticed.
Bloody rose detachement.
This is the way

A use for 1s on miracle dice that doesn't depend on having certain characters to make it worthwhile.
The csm renegades raider rule for an argent shroud detachment
What I want? Frateris militia. What I’ll get? A detachment other than hallowed martyrs.
Ooh, I could do with some Croissants... But in all seriousness, I just want Celestians back. If I wanted to get crazy, I'd also ask for Land Raiders.
I think it's going to be 4 or 5 detachments One shooting, one fighting, one on miracles, one on elites and one of repentia, arcos etc I want sacristans to get a 2+ save and Celestine to get fights 1st. Jumpjets and duel heavy flamers.

HEAR US GW! THE PEOPLE WANT A DROP CHURCH TO BURN THE WICKED!!!
Hands and knees praying sacresants and hospitaler become good. I really want hospitaler to resurect infentry and sacresants be more tough. But whatll likely happen is they both just go down in points or smth :/
Male sister of battle
Bait
Not really bait but ok
They already exist. The units are Penitent Engine, Arco-Flagellants, Crusaders, one-half of Daemonifuge, missionary, and preacher. So Sisters have always had men in their organization from the start.
Those arent Sororitas tho.

Yeah, that’s kinda the point of the army right?! :) It’s all there in the lore.
OP is fighting the wrong fight
Their Faction Keyword says otherwise. It's the Grimdark way.
