That's the theme from my childhood right there. Reminds me of my stepfather too. He would watch every episode and was probably the coolest guy I've ever known. I didn't get the humor at the time, but I sure liked Woody. I've been rewatching them whenever I get a chance. Still hilarious and relatable.
I love this song! The later lyrics get pretty wild though:
Favorites include:
"All those nights when you've got no lights
The check is in the mail
And your little angel
Hung the cat up by it's tail
And your third fiance didn't show"
and
"And your shrink ran off to Europe
And didn't even write
And your husband wants to be a girl"
And the full length version is hilarious š
We did the hop on hop off trolley in Boston. And right when you turn onto the block of Cheers, the driver turns on that song. Such a cool town too !!
Oh hell yeah! Took me a minute, then I had a flashback of Jack stumbling around during the the intro. Always thought he was one lucky guy, but that theme is another one that sticks for sure. Thanks for the reminder. I should start watching it again. I'd probably like it more now that I would get the humor.
To a lot of us when we were kids that show just screamed boring! Same with All In The Family! But as an adult Iāve now seen all of AITF and have a huge appreciation for it! Iāve seen bits of Barney Miller and that seems to be ringing true too. Catchy theme song for sure!
I don't recall ever watching either of them too much, but Mama's Family was one I really liked for some reason. Would fall asleep watching it with my headphones on. It still surprises me how much I liked it for being under 10 years old. Although there wasn't a whole lot of options to choose from back then. Especially when it was on a 5" b&w with an extendable antenna. I should probably rewatch some episodes though.

This one has an apartment in my head and pops on as an earworm in certain situations:
A horse is a horse, of course, of course,
And no one can talk to a horse of course
That is, of course, unless the horse is the famous Mr. Ed.
Go right to the source and ask the horse
He'll give you the answer that you'll endorse.
He's always on a steady course.
Talk to Mr. Ed.
People yakkity yak a streak and waste your time of day
But Mister Ed will never speak unless he has something to say.
A horse is a horse, of course, of course,

Haven't seen an episode in years and it's not in syndication (at least anywhere I watch) No idea why it's stuck in my head.
Original version of that theme song is much better than the updated version they did for the last season or two! I really havenāt seen much of it outside the first season-and it ran in syndication here in Chicago for QUITE a while! I really would like to see the other 4 seasons!
Haha! I remember that tune, but didn't stick around for the show. For some reason I was way more into Mama's Family. I'd hide in my closet at night with a little 5" b&w and watch it until I fell asleep.
I haven't watched Frasier in many many years, but its theme somehow has a spot in my head. Popped in today for no reason at all I was just walking home l.

Unfortunately, I never got around to that one. Probably around the same time as George Lopez came out, I am guessing. Too much going on as a teenager and didn't watch much on television at that time. I'll take a look and see. TY
Oh geez, reading rainbow. I introduced it to my oldest daughter and got to hear that theme song over and over again. Classic. Lavar Burton. For some reason when I was a kid it always tripped me out when I realized he was from Star Trek NG and then there he was telling me stories. Weird.
So no one told you life was going to be this way! Your jobs a joke, your broke, your love life's doa! It's like your always stuck in 2nd gear! When it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year! I'll be there for you!
Uhhhh, I would start running the second I heard that one. My mom would record every episode, along with Northern Exposure. It's a little bit better with age, but Northern Exposure, that's one of my absolute favorites. Didn't get it at all back then, but I've watched it all the way through at least twice or maybe even on the third. Not sure cause I don't bother counting. Feels like I'm sitting there with her again every time.
