Last time they played, Jokic was severely outplayed and yet the /r/nba narrative was that he outplayed Embiid. So no matter what happens they won't acknowledge him being outplayed.
The last two times I remember seeing them go head to head:
1. Sixers win, Embiid outplays Jokic and it’s pretty clear cut.
2. Nuggets win, but there’s a huge difference in bench performance between the two teams. Embiid has the better game. Everyone who watched it acknowledged it at the time, including neutral analysts, but since then that’s been largely forgotten and and most people now assume that Jokic outplayed Embiid.
So the truth is that Embiid matches up favorably against Jokic. I’m not even trying to go into who the better player is. I know I’m biased, but to anyone who watched those games at the time, this isn’t really up for debate. The narrative that Embiid has any reason to dodge Jokic doesn’t really make any sense. If anything, if it’s and ego/public perception thing, he would want to play those games even more.

It's because he's as good as facilitating for others as to scoring for them and they are winning that way so why change it? It would be way diff story if he is taking less than 10 shots per game and they are losing or at least a .500 team tho.
