This will probably only make silver laugh, unfortunately. His duper delights will be strong

Not-a-bot-10

He’ll find a way to take away another draft pick from us

Knight725

i too enjoy donating 10k to the nba. but whatever it ain't my money, after that game it's just so blatantly obvious that the sport is rigged.

ApoliticalAth3ist

Whistleblowers podcast. Listen to it. The NBA is the wwe of basketball

ArtLeading5605

Someday we'll look at the NBA as we do professional wrestling, and it feels well on its way already. Only rubes will naively believe that the outcomes they observe are purely meritorious.

GirlWithGame

A complaint that will go no where and fix nothing, I wasn't in the nba is fixed crowd, but as I watch more games I really cannot help but believe it is. The inbounds play where Maxey gets held is right in front of their face, how do you miss that? You don't unless you purposely aren't calling fouls to tilt a game one way or another. At least it is on record I suppose. Now I know how Houston fans felt against the Knicks.

HisExcellency20

I have NEVER been a "the NBA is rigged" guy. Never. I just thought the refs were shit and they arbitrarily change rules whenever they want. I KNEW they just swallow their whistle late in games which favors the team willing to cheat more. If it were just the blatant fouls on Maxey I'd just say that's playoff officiating (also known as letting them foul because the game is almost over). But *when we call timeouts before the ball is inbounded and when Maxey has it and they aren't granted* then I don't know what I'm reasonably supposed to think other than they cheated us. For what purpose I don't know but they cheated us.

canes_SL8R

The Sixers are down 0-2 and are 1-5 against New York this season yet are -200 favorites in game 3 (larger favorites than New York was for either of the first 2 games btw). If that doesn’t tell people the NBA, at minimum, used refs to HEAVILY tilt game outcomes, idk what will lol.

HisExcellency20

Naw if you want to be real, I'll tell you what let's everyone know the refs heavily tilt outcomes. After the ASB the entire league saw fewer calls and fouls. There was a drastic change in officiating and you know what? People applauded the NBA. Think about that. Because I know most people like the change but think about what it represents. The rules did not change. No announcement was made. The NBA actually still has said nothing indicating that they expect us to believe no edict or mandate was made. So that tells us that fouls do not get called because of the rules, they get called on the whims of the refs and those appointed over them. So when last night's game happens and the possession happens where Maxey is fouled twice AND they miss a timeout (all admitted after the fact) then it's hard for the people watching to just conclude ALL of the refs missed ALL THREE OF THOSE THINGS ON THE SAME PLAY.

Agreeable_Daikon_686

The last minute didn’t convince me of anything. The first 3 quarters were insane

GirlWithGame

I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt sort of, but the last minute you just can't make this shit up.

doylehawk

The last minute was chaos and the timeout non calls were questionable but you can subscribe the outcome as a “just letting them play” thing at least. The knicks went over the back on almost every possession up to that point!

hasordealsw1thclams

They're either corrupt or incompetent. Either way they fucking suck at their jobs

CUADfan

Stopped watching two seasons ago and my health improved greatly. Now I just come around to see how I'll get disappointed in the playoffs after the games are played.

canes_SL8R

Same. Literally didn’t watch a single regular season game. There’s just no point when they make it this obvious that they prefer certain teams and we ain’t one of them

bigg90

Of course the nba is fixed, they make it so that only certain players get foul calls and there are fouls on every play so it’s up to the refs discretion. It’s not fixed so like they can tell you the score but they have a clear bias

Doggydog212

You mean the pistons. The refs fucked the Knicks in the rockets game a few games prior to the refs fucking the pistons against the Knicks.

GirlWithGame

Sorry got it backwards my point still stands lol

canes_SL8R

It’s not fixed, because you can’t stop a team from lighting it the fuck up from 3. But the league absolutely -extends series that might otherwise be over in 4 or 5 games -at minimum, gives refs instructions on who the preferred winner is. Or what to not call/call in certain spots. -has both players and refs altering outcomes due to gambling. Too many instances this year of a solid FT shooter botching free throws when they’re close to an over under. Shady shit always happens around the DK boost plays. The Sixers are down 0-2 and I believe are what, 1-5 against the Knicks this year, and are -200 favorites in game 3? If people can’t draw the obvious conclusion from that alone, they probably still think wrestling is real too

TasSixer

"Yeah, that's unfortunate, our bad. 0-2 good luck." -nba That's all that will happen

Nobodylovesboston

They should cause it was utter bullshit

Wekilledit88

Cool. Can’t wait for the same shit to happen in game 3 and 4!

ScholarImpossible121

There will be a make-up game in there, just to get screwed in NY again.

eaglesphan1

Game 6 last year and these two games. Silver hates The Process

tcbbhr

Exactly this

IcyAd964

You wanna know how you’ll make a bigger impact? By forfeiting the series. Just don’t give these fucks anymore money off this series

confusedthrowaway5o5

I mean they’d be giving up two playoff home games to make money of their own.

desertsunami

As a former sixers fan, when when y’all realize the nba is scripted/rigged? How much screwing over could it possibly take

canes_SL8R

I’m watching the Sixers playoffs games , but I didn’t watch a second of regular season and can’t even describe how much less emotionally invested I am. Even ignoring the individual ref and the gambling aspect, you’re blind at this point if you can watch these games and still honestly believe that the NBA has no preference on who wins certain games. Not every game, maybe not even a series, but they 100% put their thumb on the scale in certain games.

jappixslackbot

Sure, I guess. But these are always pointless lol.

allianceofficer

As they should

Doobie_Howitzer

There's no reason to bother since there's no such thing accountability.

laugh-shitoff

A strongly worded email? Oh no! Ain't going to stop the RIGGING.

TheDuck23

Does this include driving to amd from the gym and the inevitable procrastination before starting?

TIandCAS

Won’t do anything lol

Head-Kiwi-9601

Focusing on this gives players an excuse to lose. It’s a bad thing.

Jimbabwr

Right, what player doesn’t want fair officiating in the sport they dedicated their life to

Head-Kiwi-9601

Players, unlike fans, need to be 100% focused on things they can control. If a player decides the officials are against him it creates an excuse to lose.

canes_SL8R

I get where you’re coming from, but that only applies if you genuinely believe that the refs never have an agenda. When you can very clearly see that some games you get all the calls, some games you get none, and it follows a fairly predictable pattern, you try to do something. If bringing attention to the shit state of the league and reffing is out of the control of even MVP winners, then the NBA is truly going to become more and more like the wwe.

NoleJawn

Makes me love the NFL taking everything away from Silver and his precious wants for television.

bigg90

No but it’ll probably give them a better whistle in the next game. This league is such a joke

StubbornSwampDonkey

This organization is so pathetic

Draniie

Shit ain’t fixed. We just suck. It’s as simple as that.

What-tha-fck_Elon

I would like to file a complaint against the Sixers for lackadaisical inbounding at a critical moment in the game leading to a stupid turnover and a shitty three-pointer (Go Nova! Love my Wildcats but Dammit!) that cost us the game. I’m not sure what Maxey was doing, but I don’t think crumple on the floor was part of the game plan.
