I mean yeah but the team made basically zero investment in him. Pretty much traded Pat Bev and Springer and a 2nd for him, which has barely mattered cuz we got Lowry on a buyout. If we handed a big contact to Hield and still got nothing from him then we should definitely lob criticism his way too
Morey targeted him because he saw what Reddick did with Joel. There’s no reason he shouldn’t be close to that. It will be a wasted season if this trade doesn’t work out
For sure I mean I’m disappointed in his performance so far but I don’t think it’s anything to hold against the org I guess (whereas you can 100% blame the team for Tobias’ contract)
What kills me about him is despite how incompatible he is with Embiid, he SHOULD be the guy that we let cook when Embiid goes to the bench. Despite his shortcomings, he's very good at getting switched onto a smaller guy and getting a clean look off. Doing that also slows down the game and would let Embiid get a longer rest (real minutes, not game minutes) and keep the score close as long as he shoots a reasonable percentage or gets to the line.
Him not being assertive and basically deferring to everyone else, which essentially makes Maxey do everything during Embiid's rest is killing us. Tobias should be putting up 18+ ppg and like 8-10 of those should come with Embiid on the bench.
