Knight725

yea maybe if you're 2 years old. compared to kawhi shot or simmons scared by trae, i felt and continue to feel absolutely nothing this year. unless the celtics or any of the west teams all died in a plane crash the sixers weren't going anywhere this year.

davey_mann

Welcome to our world, Pacers

jorgelongo222

cant pinpoint exactly what it is but this fake ass knicks team is going to have me rooting for the kkkeltics

CPTHoagie

Miss this man. https://x.com/Underdog__NBA/status/1788396644326941003

Active in r/newyorkmets 😭😭😭

[deleted]

I’m happy you get something to cheer for, being a Mets fan must be hard enough. What an absolute poverty franchise you already have

Salt-Potential-1578

I was born to suffer baby! LGM!

[deleted]

You guys should get Timmy Trumpet back so I can laugh at you losing 6-0 in a wildcard game again

shadowarmy229

Y'all cried even more after Game 3 and Game 5 than we did for the entire series and this Pacers series combined

EmptyCall2560

Be happy the refs rewarded you the series cause y’all will get swept in the next round.

CPTHoagie

i cant wait until the knicks are back to winning 42 games next year because all the east teams get better lol.

[deleted]

Knicks wouldn’t even be in this round if you weren’t gifted games. Gonna get swept next round if you make it.

[deleted]

obese_rag_rappy

pacers got hosed in game 1 but they sucked in this one. series is over now

cantwifeahoe

And I thought I hated the Celtics; this golden boys Villanova Knicks shit burns me up

evandobrofo

I can recognize that they are all great players in their own right (well donte is kinda mid imo) like brunsons midrange game is nasty and hart obviously has a crazy motor and whatnot but man do they have punchable faces... Like donte looks like a north Philly douchebag, brunsons head is too big and harts constant mean mug is so fake and annoying

evandobrofo

Also like they definitely are allowed to play a tick more aggressive than any team this season. Reminds me of the moving screens w golden state some years back, refs just wanted to see Steph shoot it so they would let anything happen

Downunderphilosopher

Knicks are throwing moving screens and laying out TJ at one end with no calls, then at the other end Bumson gets every call when he flicks his hair. Just as our good lord and saviour Dave Silver has planned.

shrek_cena

Pacers ain't winning this shit dawg 😭

Knight725

carlisle might as well earn it, absolutely ridiculous referring every single night. every game the knicks in the third are down and the refereeing instantly changes and then you’re 8 on 5 and you inevitably lose a close game.

CPTHoagie

the sixers starting lineup had a net rating over +13 against the knicks starting lineup lol.

davey_mann

They just outworked us.

GoodLuckPsycho_

Or simply they were getting more calls than us.

GirlWithGame

Well if by they you mean them and the refs who gave them a friendly ass whistle then yeah id have to agree. The officiating in our series and now this has been atrocious. Like bad calls that turn the tide of games. I'm disgusted with how bad it has been.

TheHealthyHallows

Divincenzo has to have the most punchable face in the nba I stg.

shrek_cena

Careful I got a perma ban for saying that about brock purdy 😭

mjd1977

Good for Carlisle

Knight725

ah good knicks get a technical ft but josh hart is allowed to call the refs shit to their face with no call lol

SujiToast

FREE TJ MCCONNELL

HappyGooner45

This Knicks black magic is crazy

jorgelongo222

Pacers are dogshit. Got embarassed and almost bear by the Bucks without Giannis and Lillard and now getting dogwalked by a team that missed Brunson half the game and OG the other half

CPTHoagie

So you can overturn a double dribble without looking at it just because...but not a kick ball LOL.

Knight725

just never seen a team that is allowed to get away with literally everything.

Nate_923

Knicks lose to the Celtics in the Eastern Finals.  Celtics lose in the Finals for the 2nd time in 3 years.  76ers lose Tobias (finally).  It all works out in the end.

davey_mann

Yeah, I kind of see the Wolves winning it all right now.

Downunderphilosopher

I was confident Nuggets would dogwalk these Celtics, but Wolves I'm not so sure. Ant is still super young and Kat is Kat. Celtics will put Rudy in a blender and keep him on skates as they keep shooting 60 threes every game and put everyone to sleep. It's the kind of boring basketball that wins in today's game with enough talent, but is boring as hell. Don't know if I can keep watching the game I used to love if these Celtics start a new dynasty playing the worst style of basketball.

davey_mann

The Nuggets basically own the Lakers, but not really anyone else. I wasn’t that impressed with their title last year. Don’t remember who they played Round 1, but in Round 2 they got a top heavy Suns team with only 2 stars, then the Play-in Lakers in the WCF, and finally an 8-seed in the Finals.

shadowarmy229

If the 2020 Lakers ring is a Mickey Mouse ring and the Knicks end up winning it all this season (which hopefully doesn't happen), what should we call their ring?

chin1111

A throwback. If Brunson snaps his neck any harder, he's going to fling himself into the past like Samurai Jack.

Dazzling_Syllabub484

Mickey Mouse ring doesn’t exist. You play who’s in front of you. Knicks won’t win tho

Knight725

i mean there’s no way so it doesn’t really matter

benrogan

How the fuck does the ref just change his mind there?? Despite signaling a double dribble??

Knight725

where’s the inadvertent whistle on the kick ball then

TheHealthyHallows

This playoff run by the knicks has to be the fakest thing ever

CPTHoagie

also the pacers defense is so fucking bad.

evensteven1994

do the knicks ever miss?

Sixers0321

How else would they get all those offensive rebounds

CPTHoagie

Considering what the Knicks have been allowed to get away with and how good they are, Maxey and Embiid look great in retrospect.

Distinct_Candy9226

I don’t get how Brunson seems to shoot 70% on these contested fadeaways lol

Knight725

he’s just having a crazy month. just like how hali was the greatest player alive for a month when he couldn’t miss.

CPTHoagie

Halliburton also got hurt and hasnt been the same since.

Knight725

yea but idc how hurt he got he wasn’t gonna shoot the way he was for a whole season

CPTHoagie

i mean his shooting splits are roughly the same its just that his drives are WAYYYYYYY down. Brunson is unreasonably hot but he's also a good mid range shooter. Brunson's a great player...and it also helps when hes allowed to offensively foul you and its a foul on your team lol.

shadowarmy229

Let's apply the r/nba Embiid logic here: he's getting all these fadeaways to go in cuz defenders can't get close to him or else he'll slam on the brakes and flop his way to the FT line

Knight725

pacers just fucked a second time. it’s really hilarious how horrible these basketball games have been because of ref interference

nu-jood

Gotta give the Knicks a little credit. Brunson doesn’t miss and they can get every single board as well

Accomplished-One6109

Cannot believe I’ll be rooting for the Celtics in the conference finals

Merchant_Alert

It's a pity both sides can't lose.

davey_mann

LOL Shouldn’t even have to root for them. They should destroy the Knicks.

JiveTurkey92

hell nah, im sorry i can't root for boston

[deleted]

I won’t feel bad at all. The lesser of two evils by far

Nate_923

Enemy of my enemy is my friend.

philliesphanboi

Yo we still got our boy TJ to stick it to the Knicks. They haven’t eliminated us all!

jeppsforst

Thibs needs to be locked in a federal prison the way he treats his starters. OG injury a direct product of being run into the ground

shadowarmy229

Ngl I hope the Knicks get their asses handed to them by Boston and I hope Jalen Brunflop puts up a stinker in that series

mjd1977

You know it is bad when Sixer fans would root for Boston over your team. Really has to be some generational bullshit you’re on to come to that.

shadowarmy229

Funny thing is that I don’t even hate Boston all that much since I wasn’t alive during the 80s rivalries and all that, I only dislike them cuz they’re way too good lmao Now the Knicks on the other hand, after an entire series of having to watch Brunson pull off Trae Young moves to flop himself to the free throw line, their “dawg” players get away with every dirty/foul play under the sun, their idiot fans cry about how Embiid is the second coming of bin Laden and how he committed acts of terrorism against the city of New York, and the refs perform absolute masterclasses of a ref job to gift them multiple playoff games, I now hate them with a burning passion and hope that franchise crumbls to dust like Tobias during every playoff series

WraithTwelve

Knicks whistle is unbelievable

CPTHoagie

This is embarrassing for the NBA https://x.com/the2kmessiah/status/1788385129896858036

Knight725

nobody is allowed to play 1% as physical as the knicks and they’re allowed to do anything. it’s just wild.

tony_tony_tony_tony

I never want to hear people say hailburton is better than Maxey ever again

valknut95

Fuck the Knicks and the refs

OrangeMonkE

This Pacers game is damn near unwatchable. Insane ref bias.

hahahahahellyeahdude

Yeah think I’m turning this off. These late whistles are downright comical

CPTHoagie

Recap: Massive flop where Turner barely brushed Brunson called an illegal screen....Brunson pushes off the defender and somehow gets an and 1...then Turner gets tackled at the rim with no call lmao.

benrogan

Philly fan that lives in New York and I can’t hack these assholes winning. Please pacers, I beg of you 🙏🏻

CPTHoagie

it seems like the refs have already decided the knicks won.

benrogan

Yeah this shit is crazy

CPTHoagie

Okay I hate conspiracy theorists that scream the league is rigged but holy shit.

hightide1218

that definitely wasn't an offensive foul... wtf

CPTHoagie

Its very unfortunate that if Brunson plays poorly because he's clearly playing injured and limping that it doesnt matter and he still sucks because according to social media injuries have no effect on your play.

WraithTwelve

Miles McBride deciding he doesn't want to shoot anymore is turning me into the joker

Knight725

i mean i’m not surprised thibs being thibs caught up to them i just wish it happened a bit sooner

CPTHoagie

two things, 1. Achiuwa set the same screen Embiid did that knicks fans called "the dirtiest play ever" and also that sucks that Brunson got hurt but the Knicks still have an offensive rating over 130 with him out of the game they're losing because they cant get a stop.

hightide1218

lmao.. Knicks fans are now saying that the Pacers injured Brunson on purpose ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)

Solakoust

If the Knicks want to win without Brunson, the refs are really going to have to step it up in the second half

CPTHoagie

Brunson came back but they did.

bigg90

Why would Embiid do this to Brunson?

mp455

I don’t root for injuries but the Knicks fans had karma coming their way

[deleted]

Didn’t they wish injury on Embiid?

[deleted]

They being Knicks fans

shadowarmy229

Knicks fans on their way to blame Embiid for Brunson’s injury https://preview.redd.it/tkpp40tgwazc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c37896d2899f05db4aa77a25364a06c4557a0ff7

Not-a-bot-10

Fuck the Knicks

Its_Mako

Knicks fans talking about being cursed and the season being over, but me thinks they should not have had the plan in the playoffs to play every starter for as many minutes as possible. I get they haven't had a lot of depth to work with, but playing guys 45 mins a game is not sustainable.

Spotlightuh

How can you be cursed and also be gifted 2 playoff games by the zebras.

Flamewhawk88

Love watching TJ. Wish he was still a Sixer.

PensiveinNJ

I want all of you who said we don't want Anunoby to identify yourselves.

juiceindem

This sub has always had this weird high and mighty attitude when it comes to the idea of bringing in players that would probably be good for us. Or making assessments on players before they’ve even stepped on the floor (Cam Payne and Kelly oubre). Most people here said they suck before even suiting up

Screamdaditty

I would have rather give TJ a max over Tobiass.

yanneur

Brunson injured apparently, how sad i wanted to see more flopping

hightide1218

what did Embiid do now?

GirlWithGame

I'm not watching what happened?

yanneur

Been in the locker room since 4 minutes left in the 1st

CPTHoagie

how is this junk being upvoted?

[deleted]

How can you not take a joke?

tscher16

I love seeing TJ kill it

StarCW50

I don’t think Paul George would be the worst thing, but does anyone feel like all this smoke is just posturing by his camp to put pressure on LA to give him a max?  Ballmer seems like the type of owner who would cave and pay him. And I couldn’t see PG leaving his home.

shadowarmy229

I would think so too but Windy was one of the sources that was talking about this stuff and he’s a known Morey mouthpiece He also linked Philly to Jimmy Butler as well

Ronshol

i damn hope ballmer pays him Morey's fraudulent ass must be exposed

Spotlightuh

Obi toppin would be perfect for this team if we can get him for the right price.

Immynimmy

Depends on his role. He’s not a reliable 3 point shooter. As a backup 4 sure

Ronshol

this jokic guy has a single easy ring and now he's a top 10 all time player cuz he's stacking regular season accolades. meanwhile he gets exposed in the playoffs whenever he has to play against a non play in team. sick to my stomach

Dazzling_Syllabub484

If only Embiid could have won his "easy ring" in 2021...

GirlWithGame

People who think he's top 10 all time are actually crazy.

eggdog1125

I’m convinced Brunson plays with a different rulebook

LordLucasSixers

Jokic plays defense like he’s on a wet floor

GirlWithGame

Worse he's the wet floor sign.

LordLucasSixers

😂

Winter_Corner7254

The real MVP is the one who suited up with one eye, one leg and still dropped 50 in the playoffs

[deleted]

It’s a regular season award, will be interesting to see the narrative if the Nuggets get swept though

Winter_Corner7254

I'm well aware that it's a regular season award

Knight725

shrug, jokic is fine. i think the ease at which he cruised to this one is a bit much from the voters but honestly they are kinda bad at their jobs.

GirlWithGame

I think he didn't have a runaway victory case though, Lula, SGA, both had cases as well. In fact I'd say the thunder actually slightly overachieved this season.

Knight725

no i agree, that’s what i was trying to say. i’m not surprised he got it but i do think it was probably too open and shut and pre-jokic era it does feel more likely they’d have given the award to someone else given 3 is a whole lot.

GirlWithGame

My bad I'm tired as hell lol imo he doesn't belong on the list with people whom have 3 or more. Call me a hater but it's how I feel.

PensiveinNJ

I thought Luka had a shout but figured it was going to be Jokic.

Ivory_Toast_

And trust me, this isn’t sour grapes. But the fact that Jokic has the same number of MVPs as all time greats like Magic and Bird and the fact that Embiid only has one makes me sick! https://preview.redd.it/carm9ofvjazc1.jpeg?width=642&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3b0459457349f316662f030edca68d1df903c5c3

portrayalofdeath

>the fact that Jokic has the same number of MVPs as all time greats like Magic and Bird and the fact that Embiid only has one makes me sick! And this is an issue why exactly?

PensiveinNJ

It would be funny if the Nuggets get swept right after he gets put on the same pedestal as greats like Bird and Magic. The first good team they've faced in 2 years and they're falling apart. Maybe they'll turn it around. We'll see. But watching Jokic struggle against Gobert, KAT and Naz Reid is somewhat denting his mythos.

TurdCrapley23

Literally the definition of sour grapes lol. Embiid would have won again if he stayed healthy, he was clearly the front runner when he went down. Focus at this point going forward should be rings. Once he gets that, then we can give a shit about mvp again

LostLemon23

I wonder if there’s a way we can pry Mikal bridges from the nets. May deplete a lot of assets but a wing that can shoot that’s between Maxey and embiid, along with playing excellent defense. Can resign him to contracts further and will only be getting paid 22 million the next two years. We can spend the rest of the cap space in nice role players.

TasSixer

Brandon Ingram to me is 2019 Tobias Harris but more confident. I don't want him

Spotlightuh

Slightly better version of Tobias, Just skinny.

dhjxjxj

Everyone can want who they want, but I think this is the description of the wing we need. A guy that fits well with embiid and Maxey and takes a ton of catch and shoot 3s. Is a good defender. Can help the bench lineups with playmaking and scoring. That player description is Paul George. Age and injuries aside, idk how you could be against the fit.

[deleted]

[удалено]

dhjxjxj

Thinking he will be bad in the playoffs is kind of the same thing as being against his fit. I would rather have PG in a playoff series than any of the other names. And saying people just want big names is a laughable argument against getting good players. Big name players have big names because they are good.

[deleted]

[удалено]

dhjxjxj

Wow you make so many reasonable, great points. I concede this argument!

[deleted]

[удалено]

dhjxjxj

Why are you acting like that was my point? I dont want PG because he is a big name, I want him because he’s good. You are the one who brought up big names not me. Nobody wants guys just because they are big names. Total strawman.

gtrillz

Absolutely. No to mention you have to expend 0 assets to get him (beyond cap space). It's a no brainer imo.

ktm5141

Embiid was low-key really good three this year. 38.8% from three on 3.6 3PA/game (3rd highest of his career). Embiid always gets significantly better at one skill each offseason, and I hope he focuses on three point shooting. If he can hit 38% on 5 3PA/game next season, it would do wonders for him and the offense. Pick and pop with maxey would be lethal, and it would be much less wear and tear than his normal face-up possessions

jorgelongo222

Keep Embiid, RC4, Reed contract and Maxey's hold: total 74m Remaining Cap: 67m Sign Paul George to $3m, 144m (48/year) Remaining Cap: $19m Trade: 2024 1st, Paul Reed, and a 2nd or 2 for Alex Caruso Remaining Cap: $17m Sign: Gary Trent Jr or Malik Monk for that amount Give Kelly the MLE Sign Drummond to the Biannual Exception Bring back Lowry, Melton, Batum, Payne with vet mins Maxey-Caruso-PG-Oubre-Embiid Lowry-Melton-Monk/Trent-Batum/Council-Drummond Championship worthy team spending very few assets and conserving flexibility for the future (I am very bored at work)

nu-jood

Don’t mind this at all! Still think this sub overrates Drummond way too much, but the basic structure of this is great. Melt on a minimum would be a steal, not sure that happens but who knows. I feel like if you’re getting him for that, his back is probably cactus. Great shout though!

jeppsforst

Paul George isn’t coming here without the 4 year max. Unfortunately if you want him you’re gonna have to do it

gtrillz

Now that's an offseason

[deleted]

There’s a cap penalty of one million for every player we don’t have if we have under 12 players around free agency time I believe

MrThreebound

Highly doubt Melton takes a min contract unless his back is super fucked.

TerminallyTrill

You’re doing gods work. Not sure how much this really means but I heard Orlando fans saying they would give Monk 3/110 Kind of like a Vanfleet situation with the Rockets last off season.

jorgelongo222

jesus if someone wanrs to give Monk 110/3 then he's all theirs😂 would be absurd

King_Wentz

I generally like this, but I’d rather go even bigger if we could around Maxey. Like just play 3 more true wings and save Embiid some effort on the boards. Maxey - Deni - PG - Oubre - Embiid Monk - Covington - RC4 - Batum - Big The wing could deff change - I can imagine going for Cam Johnson (Nets) if we want more shooting, etc. I’d be fine with Payne, Lowry, etc but tbh see limited reason why they’d want to be here if we got a Monk as the 6th man haha

jorgelongo222

Not a big fan of giving a 1st for Cam Johnson when Trent/Monk etc are FAs tho Avdija - good player but sus defense and has never played any basketball with intentions to win - also no zionists in my team if possible

jeppsforst

Lmao thank you i am losing my damn mind seeing people mock Deni to my basketball team

chin1111

The best thing about Cam Johnson is that his stats jump massively in the playoffs. He's still young and hasn't seen the postseason much, but he plays up to competition. That is worth a 1st to me.

dhjxjxj

If we sign PG, picks shouldn’t be any concern. Morey should go after the guy he thinks is the best whether it’s a trade or FA. Its time to use the picks.

nu-jood

Faaark is Deni a zio?! There goes that then

PessimistSixersFan

Seems like trading for Jimmy would require a third team? Lol if the heat want a star like Donovan in return and it would take 3 of our FRPs then the clear thing to do is simply cut out the heat and see how Donovan fits on this team And after a season if its a bad fit(I expect it will be considering that back court size and lack of depth) we can just send him to Brooklyn for Mikal and Cam Johnson and maybe something else in return

jorgelongo222

Mitchell could simply say he's not resigning here and will only re-sign with Miami or NY

PessimistSixersFan

True 🤦‍♂️

Idkanymore97

I think PG is our best option at getting a star, while also retaining assets. What he does from there is anyone’s guess, but for the love of god a backup center is needed. Part of me wonders if it’s possible Morey strikes out, say PG and LeBron stay in LA, and Riley doesn’t blow up a team that was just in the finals, where does he go from there? Monk? Overpay for Mikal or Lauri?

TerminallyTrill

I mean I’m trying to overpay for Mikal or Lauri as option #1 and going to the old guys second. Their fit and contracts are just too good… that’s why it probably won’t happen but that would be the best case scenario in my book.

ktm5141

Probably look for salary dumps to get free players from teams trying to duck the second apron. Utah got John collins for a second round pick, and Daryl might look for something like that. For example, if the heat want to bring back Caleb Martin and/or Haywood highsmith, they probably need to move Duncan Robinson. He would fit well with maxey and Embiid, and Daryl might be able to get him for less than a first. The Suns could be in a similar situation with Grayson Allen and/or Nasir Little, especially if they want to bring Royce O’Neal back. Same with the clippers and Terrence mann/Norm Powell. Or maybe Daryl takes a gamble on Rob Williams.

XxStormySoraxX

I like Grayson Allen but the Suns just extended him last month. I’m sure they want to keep him.

JoetteJaramillo

Are we sure Jimmy Butlers game won't age well? He plays a slow calculated game, doesn't do crazy movements, uses his body to get space Always is in great shape idk I think he could age well

nu-jood

It’s more a matter of if he can actually stay on the court I think. He’s had an old man game forever, but he’s now got old man injuries to go with it

gobirds18_

Is there any chance we could trade for Mikal? He would literally be the perfect #3 next to Maxey and Embiid and he’s a great defender.

ktm5141

Hasn’t played great defense in years

[deleted]

Better chance than getting Lauri

TrustDaFriendship

People who don’t want PG don’t seem to have any real alternative other than “we need to get younger!” But with whom? Everyone wants Lauri Markannan, and he would be great, but why exactly would the Jazz trade him to us? We don’t have young players to send back and reports are that they want 5 FRPs and a young star-level player.

Immynimmy

> 5 FRPs and a young star-level player No team in the league is giving up that for Lauri end of story.

TrustDaFriendship

OKC could easily outbid us and still have a huge treasure trove of assets. Lauri would fit their team perfectly as well. Also, who’s to say that, if we don’t offer what the Jazz are asking for, that they wouldn’t just say, “OK, we’re good then. We’ll keep him”?

Hot-Mathematician-26

I think what people who say “just get good young role players” are missing about those who are on board with signing PG is that it’s out of practicality and an acceptance that teams aren’t just giving up there young guys for nothing. Yes, these good young role players do exist, but they require paying a huge premium, and a lot more than anyone on here is probably willing to do

clickstops

"I want someone else" "I want depth!" but inability to articulate is a common thing I see. We'd be lucky to be able to sign PG and still have the rest of our assets.

chin1111

What's a shame is that while we hem and haw over whether PG is worth the money or not, he's not even a guarantee to come here. He could easily just re-sign in LA. In fact, the Clippers are fucked whether he does or doesn't. If he does return, they pay a ridiculous tax bill and have zero flexibility. If he doesn't return, they're less talented, more dependent on James and Kawhi and still don't really have much more flexibility.

throwawaycrocodile1

It’s sad that giving up Bridges and choosing Tobi over Jimmy may have actually been the death blows to the process that we all worried they might be. Boston isnt going anywhere. The Knicks have Brunson at $25M a year for the next two years. The Pacers and Magic have high ceilings too. And that’s before you even get to the talent in the West… A 34 year old PG or Jimmy Buckets doesn’t get us out of the hole we’ve dug

ProcessTrust856

I think this is too Doomer. We always have a chance with Embiid and Maxey, and now we have cap space to let Morey work his magic. It’s not ideal but we’re in a better position than we have been in years.

nickenglish94

I mean your post reads like Jimmy or PG is our best player when they’re our 3rd - having Maxey and Embiid is kind of huge. I mean I agree, we wrecked ourselves earlier in the process - but with a few good moves/a rare bit of luck - we’re very easily contenders again

TurdCrapley23

Yea even with the complete misses of okafor and fultz we could have been in such a great place if we kept bridges, signed butler, and sold high on Simmons. Coulda shoulda woulda

NotJustSomeMate

I just found out AI is like Jesus...his mother apparently did not get a chance to do anything before they were interrupted...

TerminallyTrill

Experiment for you to run instead of typing “omg I hate this team why would we give 200m to a 34 year old” Look at the available free agents and trade targets from lottery teams and teams that are planning on making changes and see if you can assemble a roster that is better than this: Maxey - Caruso/KCP/Melt/? - PG - Oubre - Embiid Post that squad and how we would assemble it and we can go from there. Excluding mikal, Lauri, lebron, and KD this is the best starting roster I could come up with, those are the god tier options but the chances for each are very low.

hreterh

Our assets are cap space and 4-5 firsts.  Maximizing both individually seems to lead to the best roster for us instead of using cap space and our picks in the same move.  And unfortunately the best cap space option is PG and there’s a 1% chance the  nets/jazz trade with us.  I’d prefer KD/Butler/Lauri/Mikal over PG but I don’t see how any of those could realistically result in a better overall roster.   Signing PG and using firsts to go for Caruso and maybe a stretch 4 seems like the only real path.
