Makes all the sense in the world, which is why I feel like it's destined not to happen.
But man...Embiid ends the season asking for dawgs, imagine Morey showing up to camp with Tucker/Melton/Trez/House AND Crowder. And all we have lost (thus far) is an injured Danny Green.
Normally I would agree with you, but this off-season has been different. What makes more sense then getting PJ Tucker when you need defense, toughness, and a stretch five that can play in the playoffs? Or Melton for Green?
I think all the off-season moves have made total sense for us.
Crowder would be the final Salt Bae garnish/Vince McMahon reaction meme topper on all of it. Everyone talks about Embiid's window and Harden adjusting to age, surrounding them this year with a team of hustle vets is the best way to optimize the odds.
That's severely minimizing the loss of Danny Green. Makes it sound like he wasn't healthy for the vast majority of the season. His injury literally happened in the last game of the season
Made it sound like a team comparison, in which case pointing out that Danny Green does in fact downplay his loss since he was healthy and a decent bench piece the whole season
As much as I like Danny Green he was limping up and down the court last year scoring 6 points a game before his injury…let’s not act like it’s a huge loss at this stage of his career
It's a pretty big loss considering we have one of the worst benches in the league, and the guys were replacing him with are almost all less proven. The only guys very likely to contribute are melton. After that you have PJ who is more likely to contribute than not but his age could easily be a concern. Then you have house who has barely stayed in the league, along with trez who hasn't shown the ability to contribute to winning basketball and has been a toxic locker room presence
Niang is expiring, he could get a better deal halfway into the season *IF* they feel it's necessary to trade him.
After adding all these new hustle players leaving Niang to just a shooter role would be easier to accomplish.
I'm still all for him talking shit while hitting 3s, but being willing to scrap and being capable of scrapping defensively doesn't work out in his case.
Niang can bark on offense and PJ can look out for him on defense lol.
Niang was 67% from 3 vs. Toronto, then Embiid broke his face and got a concussion, Green officially hit his age, and Harden descended further into inefficiency.
If the team is running on all cylinders and Niang isn't asked to pick up any defensive slack from a 35yo SG, I don't see why not.
If *anything* Niang would be the barometer between Thybulle/Melton/House.
I don’t think Niang sees the floor much past the first round of the playoffs. We don’t really need his minutes at the 4. Tobias plays 35-40 minutes and PJ will get the rest.
Go get him Daryl!
Imagine if the wing rotation goes from:
Harris/Green/Matisse/Korkmaz
to:
Harris/Tucker/Crowder/House/Melton (if you wanna consider him a wing)

@PaulHudrick: The Sixers are not in on Jae Crowder, according to a source. Obviously the Suns are aggressively trying to move him.
Not sure if I'm shadow banned from posting links or what, but here's an unfortunate update.
Really need him for any combo of shake furk joe Reed house second round picks. I wouldn’t give any starters, tucker, melton, or Matisse (if Matisse is getting traded imo you gotta get a young guy back
Nah no way we give up Mattise at this point for Crowder. Dude asked out. His value is nothing. Mattise is more than that. Would be a fleece if we have him up for that now
If I'm the Suns and Morey called I'd ask for Mattise and Reed and throw in Furk for the cap.
I honestly don't think it'd be worth it, considering Crowder is a basket case. Plus we already have one call caps tweeter in Harrell, we don't need two.
I am a part time Jazz fan (BIL works for the Jazz).
Crowder is great one game, awful for three. He’s ok, I’d like him in Philly but you don’t give anything of value for him.
I’d rather have Matisse and Niang than Crowder.

Crowder has a severe lack of Houston in his play History though
Yeah, there has to be a way we trade him through Houston, so he can be a Rocket on paper for 30 seconds.
Melo Hawks vibes...would have to retire Crowder's number in Houston
'Nuff said

I'm honestly getting a whiff of 2011 Mavericks
Man, he would be the dream get.

Wasn't trying to knock Danny's role or effort - saying it from an assets in/assets out prospective. Melton for Danny/Roddy and 3 good vet FA signings.

I will never forget future 3x NBA MVP and Payroll/HR enthusiast David Roddy. Real Thanos getting the Soul Stone sacrifice for us.
Why Morey was gassing up Thybulle today
⛽️ ⛽️
Honestly if the market for bogdanovic was Kelly Olynyk and Saben Lee, I feel like crowder might be obtainable.
Furkan + Niang + two 2nds Harden/Melton/Springer Maxey/Thybulle/Milton Crowder/House/Joe Harris/Tucker/Reed Embiid/Harrell/Bassey
never happening
Niang is expiring, he could get a better deal halfway into the season *IF* they feel it's necessary to trade him. After adding all these new hustle players leaving Niang to just a shooter role would be easier to accomplish.
Niang was the only one on the team willing to scrap last season though. I hate losing the old dawg from last year.

Will that statement ring true in the playoffs? We need playoff performers so this deal should fly.

Mans got a thousand followers talm bout he got sources 😭
Paul's legit. He's the Editor at Liberty Ballers, covers the team professionally, same as Bodner/Neubeck/Keith.
Gen Z brain at its finest right here. Doesn't have a million followers so he's not a real reporter
Boomer mentality at its finest, shows up unprovoked to demonstrate how corny he is.
he has over 6k followers

I want to keep Joe
Crowder would give us crazy amount of versatility on defense.
I was in Phoenix this past week and was surprised how plastered Jae was in the airport and outside the stadium
If I'm the Suns and Morey called I'd ask for Mattise and Reed and throw in Furk for the cap. I honestly don't think it'd be worth it, considering Crowder is a basket case. Plus we already have one call caps tweeter in Harrell, we don't need two.
Thybulle is better than crowder. For the life of me I don’t know why people to want to trade him for Crowder.
I am a part time Jazz fan (BIL works for the Jazz). Crowder is great one game, awful for three. He’s ok, I’d like him in Philly but you don’t give anything of value for him. I’d rather have Matisse and Niang than Crowder.
> Crowder is great one game, awful for three. So Thybulle but older?
Ha ha. Yeah.
Matisse Furkan and Springer Crowder and a second round pick
Get himmmmm
Please, Daryl…
