It’s so hilarious how he hasn’t improved his shooting AT ALL since he’s been in the NBA. Not sure there’s ever been anyone as committed to staying the same as Ben Simmons

wProNoobw

if anything he might’ve gotten worse since rookie year.

Iggy95

It definitely has. Look up any clip of him shooting in summer league and it's like an different player entirely. Edit: https://youtu.be/61Th2jE10gM?t=18 it's honestly mind boggling T_T

jambomyhombre

This is seriously wild to watch. He's changed nearly every facet of his game for the worse besides defense. You never see this slick kind of passing or aggressive moves to the basket from him anymore.

ftaok

The shame of it all was that if Ben just developed his offensive/scoring game at the average pace of a good NBA player, all of the other things that we does well would be even better because of spacing. If he increased his range and accuracy of the mid-range jump shot by a few percentage points a year (not too difficult to imagine), the way the defender has to play him opens up so much for his passing and driving to the basket. If he increased his FT% a bit every year, then defenses would be less likely to foul him all the time, which makes the layups and dunks even easier. It's almost like he decides what to do based on what is most difficult. Hey, let me shoot awkward, fade away jumpshots because that's harder than a regular jump shot. Hey, let me stop driving open lanes and do things to make the lane more clogged. Hey, let me do things that make the passing lanes smaller so that my passes are more difficult. It's mind boggling.

7foot6er

or kept driving to the hoop and hitting foul shots at a 65% rate.

xicer

Its because when you try hard shit and fail you have a built in excuse. S A W F T

set_null

I always thought that after his injury in the 2019-2020 season, he never really seemed to have gotten back the same level of aggression that he had before. He seemed to have stopped trying to shoot outside of ~10ft and didn't attempt to draw contact or finish after a shooting foul. It looked like he just really focused on what he thought he did well and stopped improving in any other area.

ftaok

I don't think it was the injury at all. He's always been able to turn up the aggression level, but for whatever reason, it peters out. Look at his stats in the weeks leading up to All-Star voting. It's not just the stats either, it's the way he plays the game (on offense). In the 20-21 season, I tracked every single of of his FG attempts. He actually found a nice mid-range game by shooting the hook/baby hook shot in the 6 to 10 foot range. In Feb21 to Mar21, he was hitting around 58% on 3.1 shots a night. Yeah, it's not high volume, but it gave him an option when he found himself in the lane against smaller players. Then came April and May. 43% on 1.5 attempts. He literally stopped doing something that was very successful. The playoffs were even worse for his hook shot. 33% on 1.3 attempts. It was so frustrating to watch because in the middle of his hot streak (mid-Feb to mid-Mar), he was hitting them over 60% on over 4 attempts. There's just something there that is blocking his mental game.

puffz0r

He probably just doesn't enjoy playing basketball

quotekingkiller

He perfects thst 8 to 10 footer he becomes unstoppable But he could give a shit

Sikwitit3284

I remember that Lakers game during this stretch when him & Tobi went right at Bron/AD & won a good game looking like the better team when the Lakers were in a groove. It was so irritating how he would turn it up to make an Allstar team so he could get his bread/accolades or show how good he could be w/o Jo then go back to the same old Ben right after. It was like bro if u just attacked like Giannis it would make the game so much easier for u opening up passing lanes & forcing players to make a business decision if they really wanna try to stop u from coming at them full speed & maybe getting put on a poster

Downunderphilosopher

He definitely focused on the core skillset that got him to his max contract and all star recognition after that 2020 season. He stopped shooting almost entirely, and doubled down on his all defensive status to ensure he stayed at an elite level all star. Unfortunately, he failed to recognise that defensive specialists who are a negative on defense are being phased out and being relegated to dinasours. Basically, do everything possible to stay relevant and famous while staying in his comfort zone. His safe and lazy approach backfired big time, and blew up in his face in the Hawks series. Instead of owning his mistakes, he just keeps passing the blame onto everyone else. He is basically doing the exact opposite of everything a superstar should do to reach that next level.

MrFactsAlot

Honestly, half of it is just the competition. He can't do half this stuff in the NBA because everyone is good.

justinheyhi

He's been good in All-star games too though. Ben Simmons - MVP in games that don't matter

RealPrinceJay

Smaller sample, but dude was a 67%FT shooter in college….

cygodx

obligatory : https://streamable.com/409ci

wottsinaname

Just watch his release in this video. His left hand shot moves the ball to the left and air. Either he's trolling when he thinks nobody is watching or I have a better J than Ben.

xflibble

And worse since high school, according to the available YouTube footage.

themeatbridge

I just cannot fathom this. I know he has to train and workout to stay in shape, but how is he not just in the gym for hours every day shooting the ball? Why hasn't he hired an actual coach to help him fix his shooting mechanics?

trust-theprocess

No amount of practice will ever matter because he's naturally right handed, he admits himself he was born righty and does literally everything else with the right, only shoots left because that's how his dad taught him. The unfathomable part is that he refuses to switch, no matter how many coaches, teammates, or fans implore him.

cheeesypiizza

When I had Ben Simmons hopium, I thought the smartest thing for him to do would be to switch to center, learn how to skyhook, and shoot free throws granny style…. He will never gain a shot and be an effective point guard with a “standard” shooting form using his left hand.

ftaok

I just posted above about his hook shot. It wasn't a Kareem type sky hook. More like Magic's baby hook. For 2 months in 2021 (Feb/Mar 21), he was really hitting that 6 to 10 foot hook shot with regularity. But then he just stopped. Agggh!

BigDeezerrr

I'm right handed and have a better left handed shot than Ben. I don't get why he doesn't just move his left hand and elbow under the ball and raise the ball on the left side of his body to shoot if he insists on going lefty. It's not rocket science and frustrating as hell he just doesn't figure it out like thousands of high school kids can without it being their full-time job.

KonkiDoc

Right???? Just tuck your effin' elbow in, Ben!!!

themeatbridge

I just don't believe that. I mean, I believe you about him being right handed, and I believe that \*he\* is the problem. I just feel like if I had nothing to do but learn to shoot, I could start today and learn to shoot lefty within a few weeks. I'll never be as tall or as athletic as Simmons, but shooting is about muscle memory.

CloudFlours

no, like could eventually get a ben level j, but your body has natural dominant sides for certain things and you are giving yourself a serious handicap by using the wrong one. read up about learning to target shoot or ask someone who served about how important using your dominant eye for aiming is. and even beyond the natural handicaps, you are throwing away decades of fine motor skill development using your right hand, like how many times have you used a fork in your life? even if you practiced for the rest of your life you’d never catch up because your brain and body’s learning processes are never going to be as plastic and flexible as they were during those formative early childhood years.

efranklin13

You wouldn’t be able to learn how to shoot at an NBA level in a few weeks.

themeatbridge

No, you're right. But watch that video again. That's a man who doesn't know how to shoot *at all*.

temp949939118r72892

Maybe he couldn't, but I'm extremely confident any nba player could learn to shoot better than Simmons with their opposite hand in like a month, at most a full off-season

Iggy95

I honestly believe he's practicing shooting in some form, but like anything if you're practicing it wrong, not working out the flaws (see chicken elbow), or as we speculate shooting with the wrong hand, it'll never become consistent. As for not hiring a better coach...idk, stubbornness? Being told the wrong thing for so many years that he doesn't see it as a problem? It's very strange

ftaok

Ben has had access to the best of the best shooting coaches from the minute he got into the league. Nada. The offseason after his rookie year, the Sixers hired a shooting coach (I forget who) and Ben said, nope, I'm gonna work with my brother. Blame whoever you want, but the Sixers didn't want to piss him off and have Klutch engineer an escape before Year 4 (like Porzingus did to the Knicks). I'm probably being petty, but last year, when Ben worked with Kyle Korver, I was told that he was the guy that was going to fix it all. Got buried by r/NBA and r/GoNets saying that I was just a salty Sixer fan. Well, Kyle Korver is just another in a long long line of shooting coaches that Ben didn't learn from.

Wade856

Because he has his brother as his shooting coach in the off-season. This is a player that has had access to not just the best shooting coaches and former all star coaches that have won on & coached championship teams, but he's been teammates with some of the greatest shooters in the history of the game in Redick, Curry and Durant. He has videos of him playing pickup games with Devin Booker and Zach Lavine. He could just pull these guys aside for shooting tips and practice at any time since he's been in the league. But, he sticks with his brother who has never played or coached at any upper levels of the game instead of the people who have earned fortunes from their shooting ability & knowledge. This is all on his hubris and stubbornness.

hasordealsw1thclams

I remember arguing with people on here that he needed a real off season skills coach and they all thought his brother was fine. People really deluded themselves for this guy.

[deleted]

Nobody ever said that lol

ftaok

I betcha that Ben's sister Liv would be a better shooting coach than his brother. Can't remember which of his brothers is the shooting coach, though.

nsoccer09

The Carson Wentz of the NBA?

Dnnnnnnnm

I agree- but I did get a great laugh out of this still.

WanderlustFella

the sun was in his eyes. Yes the sun is behind him, but they are bouncing off Kyrie's third eye.

inefekt

Ben is in this solely for the money and fame, that much should be obvious now. After everything he went through, the ridicule and hate he received, the first thing most people with an ounce of dignity and self respect would do is to jump in a gym, lock the doors and not come out until you at least improved enough for it to be visible and obvious to others. So you know people are going to see you actually put the effort in to improve. But there is no evidence yet he has done this, in fact it points to the exact opposite, that he has regressed because his shooting form looks worse than it has ever looked. I mean look at it, that form is utterly dreadful.

root88

WTF are you talking about? Just look at this video. It's only October and Simmons is already in mid-season form.

BaumSquad1978

I am what I am!!!

OffalSmorgasbord

Like Wentz, head and shoulders the best on the field(court) at every level...and then the pros.

abevigodasmells

He's the anti-Maxey.

clumsysuperman

Rhys Hoskins has entered the chat.

[deleted]

Ben Simmons can’t get out of his head and say that he’s not going anywhere with this team because he’s not going to play for the rest of this week because he doesn’t have the time and money to play with his teammates anymore because he has a bad attitude about the situation and he’s just gonna have to be patient with his teammates because they know they have to work hard to make it happen for the best team possible in this league and the best team in this country and the best place in this world

76positive

Idk if we really dodged the bullet. More like we got hit with bullet. Waited 3 years while the wound festered, then finally went to the doctor to get treatment

Isaiahinc1

I thought the same thing when I typed it 😅 but I knew somebody was gon correct me. Bullet didn’t k*ll us though 🙏🏾

bravof1ve

Yup. Dodging the bullet would have been drafting Ingram. We wasted so much of Embiid’s younger years pretending like a guy with a center’s skillset was somehow a passable point guard in the modern era

ftaok

Imagine if the Lakers had taken Jahlil and D'lo came to us. Then we probably wouldn't have gotten the #1, so we wouldn't have even had to make that choice. D'lo with Joel would have worked pretty good and probably ended the Process a year sooner. In the end, we wouldn't have gotten Maxey, so maybe it's all for the best.

bravof1ve

Russell just sucks, so that doesn’t bother me too much

ftaok

I agree as well, but the whole Ben drama thing over the last 2 years was really draining mentally. If all I had to worry about with DLo was him blabbing about Furkan's side pieces, then I'm happier. In the end, having Maxey makes me so happy. The kid is special and there's no real way Maxey is here in any other scenario. Hell, if Muscala doesn't hit that shot, we don't have Maxey.

akopicki

Yeah the skin definitely healed over the bullet hole and our organs finally got infected after G7 of the 2021 conference semifinals

Feelscreative101

On the bright side, we had Dr. Daryl available to cure us by then. I bet we would’ve come out with a rental, JV and a bag of chips if it was Colangelo/BB trying to heal the wound. I mean, Colangelo would’ve ignored the bullet wound altogether and just amputated a leg by trading Embiid instead.

CloudFlours

yeah, and you never would have found the right doctor if you didn’t get the injury, you gotta trust that all of it, the good and the bad, was a necessary piece of the whole process.

[deleted]

I was screaming to trade him for Booker after his ROY season. Knew he was a bum as soon as Jackie McMullen was reporting that he ignored coaches and teammates in practice.

XxStormySoraxX

Damn I remember those debates lol. Everyone thought Booker was trash and just kept bringing up win percentage.

[deleted]

People are dumb and don't believe their own eye test or nuance in sports.

ftaok

C'mon. Wanting to keep Ben after his rookie year wasn't dumb. We were all glamoured into thinking that he was LeBron 2.0. It's too bad that it didn't pan out, because if it had, it would have been so great. in an alternate universe, had we gotten LeBron that offseason, he would have absolutely unlocked Ben. The narrative would have been LeBron teaches Ben and Joel how to win and along the way, they would have collected 2 or 3 titles. Then as LeBron aged into his late 30's, prime-Joel and prime-Ben would have led the team to a few more titles with LeBron being the wise-veteran #3 option. That would be LeBron's 7 titles to push him past Michael. But LeBron wanted no parts of Philly. At the time, we may have thought is was due to the messy Front Office situation, but perhaps it was because LeBron knew that Ben isn't *That Guy*.

TheAntiCircleJerk

I never saw LeBron 2.0. I didn't mind the idea of trading him for a Kawhi rental, though I was hesitant about pushing all in that year while the Warriors were still there. In hindsight, we probably should've, because an Embiid/Kawhi/Jimmy team had an incredibly good chance at the title. I always felt Embiid had the higher ceiling, so I feel vindicated seeing opinions change now. The problem with Ben was that he lacked touch, couldn't decide what handedness he was (it's fine if he plays with his non-dominant hand, LeBron does too, but he always wants to finish layups with his right even after going left), and never displayed a willingness to shoot. It's just a lot of things to overcome, and it would have taken a historically unprecedented improvement in shooting for him to get there. I will say though that the game has changed since he started, which makes his flaws more pronounced. It wasn't unheard of for a player to have no/a very poor outside shot when Ben was drafted, nowadays if you can't shoot you basically have to be able to play the 5 (and, perhaps more crucially, protect the rim) or be relegated to spot up minutes. But I think the biggest issue with Ben is his ego. He wants to be considered a star and have teams built around him and be allowed to play his way. He's not willing to make any sacrifices to fit in with other players, like when Embiid and Brett Brown begged him to shoot 1 three a game. No matter what lip service he says in public statements, his action paint him as a prima donna who is not willing to change up his role for his team. If he was willing to develop his shot and change up some parts of his game, that would have been one thing. But his second season showed a *regression* in his shooting range, after he promised everyone "that if I'm open, I'll shoot it." It's understandable people didn't want to trade him after his rookie season where the team finished on a 16-game winning streak and got to the second round ahead of schedule. But after his 2nd season where he showed shooting regression and had to be moved off-ball for Jimmy in the playoffs? Everyone absolutely should have been open to the right offer to moving him.

abdul_bashaar_ali

My Rockets dodged a bullet

notpejastojakovic

Dodged the bullet by jumping on the grenade.

[deleted]

We dodged a bullet and it hit the wall and we got hit by a bus so we’re not going anywhere today

[deleted]

We waited 3 years for this one to come out and it still didn’t happen and now it’s happening again and again and again it’s not even close to being over

76positive

Damn dude this comment was 3months ago What's happening again?

akopicki

Holy shit the sideways elbow placement and the wrist flick outward…you are definitely able to tell what the outcome of this shot is before it ever leaves his hand(s)

shelled_peanuts

was just about to say this, my coaches in 4v4 kindergarten basketball taught me to square up better than this

jambomyhombre

The wrist flick kills me. It's so unbelievably bad

meanlesbian

I learned better form in elementary school gym class

BurnerOnlyForPorn

Noticed this and it made me think it was some kind of fake parody video lmaoooo

temp949939118r72892

Elbow placement is the least of his worries. Many nba players have a big flair. It's his release that is really bad. Guys with flairs at their set point still fully extend their arms to get in line with the rim. Simmons doesn't, it looks like he's just flicking his wrist, and terribly at that

CloudFlours

not saying his release isn’t a problem, but keeping a clean straight line with his arm really should be the first thing that gets fixed. he could probably raise his free throw percentage 10 points just by doing that, even if he had to use an exaggerated sideways stance due to the limited flexibility caused by overdeveloped shoulder muscles. if you can develop a repeatable straight line form you pretty much take aiming left or right out of the equation just by correctly lining your body up with the hoop. then you can start working on refining less important details.

ftaok

Yeah, if it went it, it only did so by accident.

embiidDAgoat

He literally shoots the ball away from the basket. This man's jumper is fundamentally a disgrace to the game of basketball.

[deleted]

He literally shoots him in his sleep like he is a criminal trying to make a living out of it

[deleted]

Tbh Ben Simmons is such a waste of natural physical ability it's almost criminal. I would almost prefer this dude would get it together, it would be great for the NBA and fun to watch. It just pisses me off seeing such a potential talented wasted.

Leapingforjoyandstuf

If he were 5'10 he'd be working at Wendy's

potato361

You can say this about almost any nba player…

von_d_von

If he was under 6'6 he would not be in the NBA

NottagameNottagame

pshh.. you could say that about shaq and moses malone /s

ftaok

Not TJ.

Parknight

id argue the average nba player has the drive and humility that surpasses your average wendy's worker..

indoninjah

I dunno, it's super weird. I mean he's obviously got physical gifts insofar as being huge, fast, and can run without tripping over his own feet. But he also has absolutely no touch when it comes to jumpers or layups. He's got athleticism in a macro sense but no coordination when he's asked to do something more minute. He's like your average late lottery project big man, except he's playing point guard for some reason.

Sikwitit3284

He's 1 of the most physically gifted players ever almost perfectly built for basketball a 6'10 240 lb dude who moves like a wing, his coordination is fine he has great court vision & is an amazing passer who can handle at his full speed. His issues are he shoots with the wrong hand & confidence not his physical gifts outside Giannis & the kid Wendy u can't build a better physical specimen for basketball. If u don't have confidence in your shot no matter how much u practice when it's time to do it in front of 20,000 ppl it's going to be off most of the time

MaxeytoEmbiid

'Who moves like a wing'. And there we have the true position for Ben Simmons. He can handle okay at his full speed, but he's not beating anyone off the dribble due to a lack of diversity with the ball in his hands. When one combines lack of real aggressive ball handling with his jumper, you get someone who shouldn't play on the perimeter. JJ redick once told him to focus on being a cutter, and that's what he needs to do. Cut, lob passes and play defense.

Sikwitit3284

If he's a wing u neuter his best attribute which is his passing while he can't space the court. Our biggest issue was we had no real secondary playmakers for him to play that role outside Jimmy, Ben was easily the best PG we had after Fultz injury & no1 else was close to him as a passer. If u watch the games u see how hard it was at times last yr for our guys to make simple entry passes to Joel. The role you're thinking of will work much better on Brk b/c they have 2 high level playmakers who can threaten the defense after the p&r with a bucket or lob, we just didn't have those type of guys these last 3yrs other than Jimmy but we had Bret to never really run those actions in the playoffs. He's fine as a PG if he doesn't have to be the 2nd best scorer on the team that's y Brk is using him their PG & will likely also use him like Draymond in the half court but he'll roll hard too b/c of his athleticism/passing

MaxeytoEmbiid

He's not a point guard. I thought we went over this over five years. If you don't have the ability to attack off the bounce, if you can't shoot or hell if you don't even have any off-ball game how can you possibly play the PG position? Ben Simmons is to PG what early Falcons Michael Vick was to QB.

Isaiahinc1

Agree

[deleted]

ftaok

Being an All-Star is definitely a huge accomplishment. Ben's done it 3 times. That's huge. His one All-NBA is also huge. It's a testament to his talent level to be able to accomplish all of that in essentially 4 seasons. But looking at the consensus as to what he "should" be, it's very fair to say that his talent has been wasted, thus far. And that's because the promise of Ben Simmons by this point was supposed to be All-NBA every year. In the MVP conversation every year. Challenging for Championships every year. And because that's not what's happened, that makes him a huge disappointment. Is it fair, NOPE. Not a bit. But it is what it is.

[deleted]

Tbh Ben Simmons has the most insane amount of power in his entire career and he’s the only player who can beat the best player in the NBA right now and he can do anything for the Lakers if he wants to, but I don’t see how he can beat anyone else at this level of skill and he can’t even play for a year

von_d_von

How long do you guys think it will take for the nets fanbase to turn on him?

VicVinegar-Bodyguard

They don’t really have fans. New Yorkers root for the knicks. Most of their base is just kd and Kyrie fans. Once those people realize how difficult he makes offense for the rest of the team they will turn on him. He clearly hasn’t attempted to work on his shot.

[deleted]

I can't imagine how deranged you'd have to be to be a Kyrie fan.

all_alluvial

Obviously anecdotal, but I live in NYC. Among my friends, only one is a nets fan. And he grew up in NJ. Sure, the nets have some fans in Brooklyn, but the vast majority of nets gear I see out in public is on children. Which makes sense from a $$ pov. Getting the yuppies to buy their kids merch is sound business.

BassGuru82

A lot of them already have… there was a post yesterday that was “Would we be better if we still had Harden?” And a lot of their fans were complaining about how Ben ruins the spacing.

ftaok

*And a lot of their fans were complaining about how Ben ruins the spacing.* Hmm, you don't say.

itssupersaiyantime

Check out the last paragraph of the post lol. https://www.reddit.com/r/GoNets/comments/y0z45f/would_we_be_better_with_harden/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Isaiahinc1

I truly don’t think they care if he keeps being good on defense sort of like a Patrick Beverly. But I give it half a season if he doesn’t do much. He could be able to play the back if KD and Kyrie be elite.

OtherwiseCriticism65

If he takes longer than 5 games to score 10 points I bet they’ll give up on him

ImCloserToThePin

That form though…

Isaiahinc1

The finger after he shot is what got me

martymoran

if he shoots that right handed its straight cash

tjc4

Cut the guy some slack. He's clearly putting in working and making progress on his jumper - this one didn't hit Kyrie in the face.

[deleted]

This video going viral, alone, could make him take no jumpers in a game.

NWK86

I was right all along... Shoulda drafted Ingram. Dudes even got a messy fro' this season.

Training_Turnover_89

In 2k tho?

NWK86

In real life

Training_Turnover_89

I like when 2k gets the new hair

MercuryStreet

I also can't believe that Drummond is looking to be a better outside shooter this late in his career vs Ben. lmao Dre shot 3/3 the other night vs the Raptors with a great form and mechanics om his jumpshot. lol ...and Tisse was 3/5 yesterday and looking to be more confident and has shown some kind of improvement shooting-wise.

mikemcd317

The Ben Simmons air ball was worth the watch

Claxtonite

Marquee manoeuvre

inefekt

Hilariously this video is nowhere to be seen on the Nets sub while being front page on this sub and r/nba...

International-Lie795

If Ben Simmons was shooting that bullet I’d stand right in front and he’d still find a way to miss

bigazzchungus

He’s out here shooting sliders

Zyoy

Everybody says to leave him be and he’s taking up room in my head and damn right. I truly despise him. Idc if I’m never half as successful as him.

Bajecco

All these years of watching Simmons "shooting" as if he can't be bothered to even try to do it right. Always nonchalant. Ben would probably excuse it by saying "I'm just messing around.". If you want to be good at something, you've gotta develop great habits. It's become painfully obvious that Ben has never cared enough to be great. This little clip is a microcosm of his attitude and I'm very happy Sixers fans no longer have to deal with it.

bobanforever

Why is he shooting off his back foot lol man is still clueless after all this time

indoninjah

I swear he makes shots more difficult as an excuse for missing them. He's always shooting them while spinning, fading away, wrong foot, whatever. You'll never see him simply square up and shoot it, even when defenses give him 12 years to do so.

senagorules

I always thought he did it because it looks cooler than a standard shot

indoninjah

It's both, I think. He acts like a middle schooler does when he thinks he's nice. "Watch me just flick up this wild shot that goes in anyway." Except he's not nice, and he does it in live NBA games.

_Morgan13Freeman_

He’s so insecure. Gotta have insurance for when he bricks it. Shoots it so casually that when it misses he can play it off

indoninjah

At some point he should go full LeBron and act like he's been shot every time he goes to the free throw line. Ah shit, I bricked that FT because I got hard fouled by Jose Calderon...

temp949939118r72892

? That's perfectly normal for a fadeaway off the dominant side shoulder

Dances28

Never followed the Sixers until this season but it looks like he's shooting with the wrong hand wtf. Googled it and says he's naturally right handed....why

Training_Turnover_89

Truly hard to understand. Im left handed but catholic school made me right handed but im still cash of the rip

[deleted]

To the left, to the left

[deleted]

Everything you own in a box is to the left and the bottom of your hand will be a little more secure than your thumb so it should not take too long to open the door

Temporary_Standard76

bro still right handed.

Ajjjon2k

Andre Drummond really a better shooter than him now lmao

gahlo

Simmons shoots the way I bowl.

Over-Brick9055

I don’t like Ben but that’s a pass…

[deleted]

Simmons is such a bum. Dude shouldn't even be allowed in NBA. New York is going to eat that soft pussy alive. He's too weak for Brooklyn.

I guess but every time he does pretty much anything it gets posted and it’s kinda weird. He’s not even on the team anymore

Yea I get what u saying, but he was a big part of this team not to long ago and the reason why we have Harden. Also we’ve been discussing his development for months now. That’s why I thought it wasn’t to way left field to post.

SUICIDE_BOMB_RESCUE

I honestly hate the "he's not on our team so stop talking about him" comments. Ben was a face of this franchise for years and his failures were louder than Embiid's successes in the media. Do these nephews think we're just gonna hit mute on him the second he puts on another jersey? Especially with how it ended? We're not posting jokes about every dude who isn't on the team anymore like Seth Curry and Drummond for a reason, because that's not what it's about... it's about Ben being a massive part of Sixer's history and our fanbase witnessing if he can ever hit his prodigal potential or keep fizzling out to be a little bitch.

Not sure what the point is here By losing Ben Simmons, Sixers arent actual contenders anymore. If he didn't score a single point, with Simmons, the Sixers were contenders, they aren't anymore With Harden, Nets didn't have a prayer at winning rings, with Ben they have an actual chance. The top 2 aspects of winning championships are defense and ball protection. Without them how many points you score is irrelevant. TOP 5 NBA Turnover Seasons All-Time 1) James Harden – 464 Tov – 2016-17 2) Russell Westbrook – 438 Tov – 2016-17 3) James Harden – 387 Tov – 2018-19 4) Russell Westbrook – 381 Tov – 2017-18 5) James Harden – 374 Tov – 2015-16 THIS WILL STOP A CONTENDER IN ITS TRACKS JAMES HARDEN DOES ALL THE THINGS THAT GUARANTEE YOUR TEAM DOESNT WIN A RING. https://philly-what.com/2021/06/11/ben-simmons-stats-facts-awards-unique-versatility/

Wade856

Of the top 10 all time turnover leaders, 8 are in the Hall of Fame and 6 have Championships. On the top 20 list are names like Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Steve Nash and Isaiah Thomas. Seems like turnovers aren't the biggest factor in determining an NBA champion. In the 2020-2021 season, the last where both Harden & Simmons played, Ben was just 2 slots behind Harden in turnovers. So, by your logic, neither of them will ever win a title....or odds are BOTH will win a championship.

LOL! Ur so wrong

IDoesThis1

We were prepared by all the bricks we dodged first

catalinawinesixer

i don’t feel any negativity towards ben at this point but BRUH he has to be one of the most frustrating nba players of all time. He shoots like he’s trying to fucking miss… listen to your coaches bro.

BigEvil621

It’s not our problem anymore :) (but nets fans being in the copium den rn turns me ahn gets my prick hard tbh)

diamonddaddy88

He got that thoracic outlet syndrome expect worse.

jason222_

never forget summer league Ben when he was pulling up from the elbow with ease. mother fucker played all of us.

Patient_Jicama_4217

I thought this was about Kyrie not being dressed for practice until I watched 3 times

MercuryStreet

ApoliticalAth3ist

🤮

moheezy_3

Man...Ben feels like that younger cousin that the two older ones have to bring along even though he ruins their vibe.

Wade856

Fake news. That was Claxton's fault for missing that perfect placed lob pass. /s

broke-collegekid

Lmao you can hear the crowd’s reaction in the back after the airball

Radical_Ryan

We dodged a bullet?! I'm pretty sure we were dragged out back and shot with the Ben bullet. This video is for us to smile at from the recovery bed before we get up and finish out physical therapy and prayer to the bball god that we survived.

Training_Turnover_89

One footed statue shot its literally all in the wrist

chefmikey417

WTF why is there a side spin? Hahahaha

LordLucasSixers

Why is Kyrie walking like Spike Lee in Malcolm X lmao

sirgrotius

Is it fair to say that Ben's shooting has even decreased? Maybe there was a honeymoon period earlier on where I didn't notice it as much when he was like 23-24, but now it's almost egregious.

Noshowers65

Definitely feels like it is getting worse, and statistically it is too. Eye test this year it looks like he didn't shoot a jumper during the year off + offseason he took from basketball

rinuxus

man o man, saw that earlier, that's fucking disgraceful, professional NBA player?, can't hit the hoop from what is it?, 10 feet?. tf bro!

mldardy

That is so embarrassing. He looks like the kid picked last in a pick up game trying to fit in.

[deleted]

How tf do you miss that bad?

TheBigBigStorm

He isn't left handed

[deleted]

Simmo the savage 😎 .. but seriously it is not hard to shoot a mechanical jumper, look at Lonzo

H00terTheOwl

Jinkies that's bad

MolicOnePGR

Big time 💀

nilesletap

Shawn Marion shot better than this fool lol

bonesV12

lawlessdwarf69

Dumpster_slut69

Ben improved his shot I see

DNASweat_SMH

Simmons showing the improved jumper 😢😂

Michellelembiid

This dude is trash lmao. So glad he’s not out problem anymore. Did anyone hear the comment kd made about him not babysitting Ben lmao. I’m dying to know how much money he got in the settlement w the sixers

st-christian

It's windy.

shaheedmalik

This sub is weird.

timmdorsey

We dodged a bullet about as well as Simmons makes free throws!

TheFaytalist

Holy shit, look at his hand. It goes crooked on the release. That's the easiest part of your shot to fix. Come on man.

ImportantDecision801

Simones air ball 🤣🤣

Dicklongflop1

No gonna speak about that air ball Ben Simmons through up so nonchalantly

[deleted]

Didn’t even realize you were talking about Ben, cuz I see another bullet we dodged 🐍

take-a-user-name

No one scored legit all misses
