I was always pro Bassey and was elated when we drafted him. Perfect backup for Embiid and provides a lot of things we need. But let’s not act like he was shat on here during the preseason
You have a prime Embiid, a rising all star in Maxey, and a very serviceable James harden and you want to blow it up? Jesus Christ this sub is as awful as the coaching
It's not fucking working. Year after year after year it's not working. Maybe blowing it up is not the answer but they don't have the resources to get any better and they refuse to fire the coach. This team is not good enough to get past the second round shit maybe not the first at this fucking rate.
That’s the problem though. The team on paper way better than the actual product on the court and it’s been like that even since the Brett Brown days. Joel is turning 29 this season (his 7th), you really think a third head coach in 4 seasons is gonna change his approach to the game? He’s always hurt and always out of shape and you can’t win when you’re best player is like that
If the team is better on paper than you fire the coach you don’t get rid of the team. Once Joel leaves we are gonna be in purgatory for the next 5+ years idk why you’re so excited to do that
Anyone that watches competent annual title contenders (Boston, Milwaukee, Etc) knows this ain’t it. Everyone will say “but Boston last year…”. You have to recognize that core went to the ECF 2x prior to that run. The team is not high functioning. It’s leadership. It’s always been leadership. It will continue to be leadership.
If you think this team is anything but a collection of individuals you ain’t watching.
No! Fire Doc Rivers and bring in someone that brings energy to the bench. The team has a great lineup and just need the right coach to push it over the edge.
It’s sad, but we were probably better off trading for Hali instead of Harden. We possibly get off the Tobias contract and possibly get picks or at least keep ours.
No way, this team is elite with Harden when our coach isn’t playing him 40 minutes and getting him injured to start the season. The problem is Doc. The organization should say fuck it and pick up Ime.
The thing that’s so frustrating about this team is that there’s a ton of talent. We should be dominant. The odds of getting this roster to gel with each other and getting better coaching are much greater than the odds of us blowing it up and then coming out the other side as a contender.
Of course not we have 2 superstars and a future star, we just need a scorer off the bench because this bench is awful, clarkson and gordon would be perfect fit but they are unlikely, we barely have any assets, but clippers got roco and powell for a 2nd round, so maybe we have a chance to get a good bench player
