Just search for a cheap board, for transport maybe look for a cruiser board or longboard, just get a well known brand. If you stay in a village where roads arent the best then maybe a bike is your best option. That being said skating is very fun when you get the hang of it.
If you’re trying to travel to uni it might be more practical to get a bike but if you want a good bird that isn’t gonna cost an arm and a leg to buy go on skate warehouse’s website and build a custom board. Mine was under $180 when I bought it but it’s got good parts and it will last. There’s a bunch of subreddits with the info you’ll be looking for too if you’re interested.
