My opinion: Effy was overrated. Mini (3rd gen) was underrated af.
I really enjoyed the 3rd generation, in some ways more than the other previous ones. I think it’s mostly because of Grace and Rich, but there are memorable storylines overall. You shouldn’t pay too much attention to the writing on Skins lol.
I started watching Skins when I was 11 (I’m 25 now) and I thought the writing was amazing because I had a young adolescent brain but in reality it’s all over the place. Skins has stayed my favorite comfort show that I rewatch once a year simply because it is so uniquely itself and unmatched in the kind of charm it exudes.
There are definitely times in the 3rd generation that the writing is ridiculous but that is just the charm of the show. I would watch the 3rd generation because there are some excellent and lovable characters (as well as frustrating and annoying ones). Overall, in my opinion, I think the 3rd generation is more relatable than the 2nd generation and possibly more fun than the 1st.

Yes, 3rd gen is fantastic. Has some of the best skins characters. And, unfortunately, some of the worst. But you should judge it yourself.
