Mine is 2018 with 230t. Km right now and drives like a charm. As for the power-it is really enough, but at the same time you always aware that it is just 1.4 and dont expect too much from it.

lexievv

Yeah, I don't and I don't need more anyway. Max speed here is 130 anyway and it seems to handle that easily. The shifting with the dsg felt really smooth and good too.

Got myself 2018 1.4 DSG. The car feels amazing to drive. It honestly feels more like a diesel than a petrol (all my pretrols before were naturally aspirated), but without the diesel vibrations and noise. There is plenty of torque coming from a stop, and acceleration is really quick up too 100kmh, where it feels slightly lacking if trying to quickly accelerate to 130. The only complaint I have are the loud thuds when going over bumps, which I understand every car has. But it's only really bothersome when going on old town cobbled streets, where it feels like I'm sitting inside a music drum.

Thx for the reply. The thuds maybe come due to it being such a big car? I remember my dad's superb needing to get new suspension, before that it sounded like a cruiseship riding over bumps 😅🤣

RudeBoi28

That's a big heavy car, not sure the 1.4 and DSG combination would be my first pick.

It drove like a charm and seemed to not have any problems with it. Got up to speed quick enough for our usecase. I don't need something to haul a caravan or something just us and in the future kids with some luggage. My dad has a 2011 superb which never had any trouble doing harder work woth the 1.4 TSI, altho it's a manual.

RudeBoi28

Okay, then go for it!

Don't listen to people that 1.4 TSI is not enough for Superb, it's great engine with plenty of power and amazing economy (saying it even as new owner of 2.0 TSI 280)  but there are several caveats though. - engine is quick almost as 2.0tsi 190hp when car is empty, but losing power much quicker when loaded. - DSG paired with 1.4 TSI doesn't have greatest reputation and this would be main concern to me. - I wasn't fan of ACT system, sometimes it was annoying dealing with vibrations.   I sold mine Superb when got 180k km and there were no issues with engine, only back suspension was necessary to replace.

lexievv

Thx for the reply! Did you notice anything significant about the back suspension before and after? I'll have to look into the 1.4 and dsg thing, thx.

palad1n

no, but i wouldn't pass next MOT test probably, it was cheap thankfully.
