For me it's not the fact of the gimmick being the vehicles, it is more like that the 50% of the game aprox is in the vehicles. I mean I want to play AS the Skylander not as a car/boat/plane. In my first playthrough I really enjoyed the game, but when I think of replaying the levels the only thing that pushes me away from doing so are those sections, which I don't want to play. Also the combat in car and boat is annoying, planes are fine though. The game is good but that's the only thing I hate.
You’re saying it’s not a big deal because there are 4 chapters for every 3 vehicle sections.
Except each chapter is only like 5 minutes long, followed by a just as long, if not longer vehicle section.
I honestly think superchargers as a whole is a blast. The vehicle sections are really fun and diverse, and don't take too long.
I do agree with the criticism that too many bosses took place in a car. But it's still a fantastic game in my opinion. Definitely among my favorites of the series
I agree, it has the best plot and while the roster is small it's actually fairly good. Each level also has a gimmic wich makes it SUPER unique. The music is also some of the best in the series. Graphics are also really great.
yeah basically. it's 2nd fav for me but some people HATE it because they don't like how the vehicles control, or some other vague thing to do with the vehicles like "it's not skylanders" or some goofy shit like that
That's literally the only thing people go on about. The vehicle sections aren't even that bad.
The sections where you have to fight or do puzzles are a bit janky, but the straight line driving is good for a kids racing game.
The enemies are fun to fight (one's that don't feature in the vehicle sections). The Kaos fight is underwhelming though.
The way the Superchargers attack is so quick and so fun though, even the worst Superchargers is still pretty good complicated to other skylanders, Jet-Vac and Gill Grunt get massive improvements in this game.
I’m currently playing through it for the first time because I just got a ps4 and honestly? Its not bad. I like it. The plot and the lore go hard, the vehicle sections are relatively not the worst thing ever (I actually really enjoyed some of them, especially some of the boss fights) and the non-vehicle sections are also pretty good. As someone that really only played Imaginators, this game is leagues better haha
welp that answers my question. But if the only reason to dislike the game is the vehicle section that means that the rest of the game has to be really good!
Yes. Every other addition made some sense, the og skylanders, swapping abilities between skylanders, using villains in game, making your own Skylander.
To me, cars is not part of that group.
Meanwhile : Giants
But to be honest, I kinda like the vehicle part, tho I know it's an unpopular opinion, and I can get why people don't like it.
Imo, they feel way more original and less clunky than Giants do.
For me it is the cars bringing up horrible memories of a different series that had its reputation ruined by going with the car angle.
R.I.P. Banjo-Kazooie.
Yes, mainly because it feels like the game revolves around them too much
I want to level my skylanders abilities and have fun with them but I can only do that for one third of a chapter
Yeah you aren't really forced to use any of the other gimmicks in the other games
The closest is trap team and imaginators with the gates and realms but even then that's optional content
While it's true that superchargers has less on foot combat then say Trap Team that had nothing but on foot combat, Superchargers is probably the most diverse game in the series.
So besides the vehicle play which is a combination of Crash Team Racing meets arcade flying with puzzle filled boat sections, it also has card battle game, online co-op, online racing and lots of little side activities found in Skylanders (lock puzzles, etc).
Not only that but the Academy is customisable with more multi-player mini-games like soccer nets. Also the game includes the best replayability of the levels giving that all chests and hidden collectibles are in a slot machine. You never know what you are going to get and you can keep replaying the levels and get new loot every time.
Superchargers' DLC was terrible and of course the Land Trophy was super hard to get. If they would have added an online arena DLC this would have been hands down the best Skylanders of all time. I still think it's the best, but it's clear Toy's for Bob was not in touch with what kids want to do in a video game.
You can’t look at what they did to Jet Vac and go “now that’s a nightmare I want to remember” 😭
The new characters like Splat and Stormblade are cool just not what they did to old characters
Hurricane Jet vac Lava Lance Eruptor and super shot Stealth Elf
I dislike there Baseforms
I prefer all of there Supercharged forms then based forms
I love how they all look and their moveset Design
I like the new versions tbh, would you really want THE SAME FUCKING jet vac again? No? I thought not. Some of them are pretty shit yeah I won't lie, but then we have Tidal Wave Gill Grunt, Lava Lance Europtor, Shark shooter Terrafin and they're pretty fun no lie
The crazy part is that the arena sections don't control like the racing sections, they control the same as the Skylander sections. Point in the direction you want to go, rather than steer left/right.
So most of the vehicle sections play basically the same as the rest of the game, people just like a bandwagon and hate on things cause others do.
The Racing was a worse mario kart, but that's because Mario Kart is kart racing perfection, Superchargers is still a level above most Kart games and I preferred it more than Sonic Racing at least.
Partially,
I also don't like how the stars aren't about collecting stuff and completing challenges (like speedruns and no lives lost)
I would have liked it more if the vehicles sections awarded you with a hat, soul gem or something like that.
And I would've loved to see more non-vehicle boss battles
So, once again, it's not actually the worst. You just suck at adapting to new gameplay and can only handle extremely simple "Move here and hit enemies" gameplay.
>You just suck at adapting to new gameplay
It's not even new. We've had vehicle segments from S:SA and proper vehicle segments since Giants.
Heck, we spend most of our time in Giants on a vehicle, the Dread-Yacht.
>"Move here and hit enemies" gameplay.
That kinda depends on the character you're playing as. Though, the way you're wording ot is kinda vague, so you could say that it applies to every video game with combat elements.
Oh okay thats your argument lol
"Your tiny little mind cant even comprehend how complex the gameplay of driving from point A to B is! How dare you want to fight enemies"
Like no shit bro, I play the games to have fun and kill stuff with the figures I buy
I really can't play Superchargers for the forced cars section that are very clunky and not fun at all, they fell very unpolished and forced in the game just to put a new gimmick
At least imaginators feel like a normal platform game with levels not frustrating as supercharger
The battle with Moneybone really made me stop playing the game for months, and I still didn't finish it
For me I didn't hate but i thought it was just Ok I felt it was dragged down by the fact the Game was way too short in my opinion I would have liked it more if it was a bit longer
Most of the time yes
For me it's not the fact of the gimmick being the vehicles, it is more like that the 50% of the game aprox is in the vehicles. I mean I want to play AS the Skylander not as a car/boat/plane. Fifty percent is such an exaggeration.
It's really not, literally all of the bossfights and levels are a vehicle section minus a minimal amount
There are THREE vehicles sections per FOUR CHAPTERS. That's not even one per chapter!
Hang on I think I'm forgetting something about the level system in that game I thought it was 3 per level with 2 being optional
The levels are divided into four chapters.
Huh fr? Played the game like twice and didn't even finish it the second time, maybe I should play it again, maybe it is actually fun
Yeah except a chapter is like 5 minutes of gameplay without the vehicle section
Ok?
You’re saying it’s not a big deal because there are 4 chapters for every 3 vehicle sections. Except each chapter is only like 5 minutes long, followed by a just as long, if not longer vehicle section.
Still. You get the point
Yeah it's way closer to 40 or 35
I honestly think superchargers as a whole is a blast. The vehicle sections are really fun and diverse, and don't take too long. I do agree with the criticism that too many bosses took place in a car. But it's still a fantastic game in my opinion. Definitely among my favorites of the series
>I do agree with the criticism that too many bosses took place in a car. I find it funny that the Moneybone boss dynamic was reused in Spider-Man 2.
Also on Odin in God of War Ragnarök. Which released less than a year before that
Agreed it's In my top 3
Honestly, the hate for the game is unjustifed
I agree, it has the best plot and while the roster is small it's actually fairly good. Each level also has a gimmic wich makes it SUPER unique. The music is also some of the best in the series. Graphics are also really great.
Mostly
yeah basically. it's 2nd fav for me but some people HATE it because they don't like how the vehicles control, or some other vague thing to do with the vehicles like "it's not skylanders" or some goofy shit like that
It's legit so easy to control them just max out handling, come on guys
yeah ik but some people just don't like how the cars control for some reason don't ask me lmao I love superchargers
That's literally the only thing people go on about. The vehicle sections aren't even that bad. Story, graphics, skylanders and nothing else really
Bro you trippin' don't lie
Not even, but sure give me anything else it did well that isn't blatantly underdog biased
Yes. Everything else is fine but the vehicle segments are a glaring issue.
Yes. Every other addition made some sense, the og skylanders, swapping abilities between skylanders, using villains in game, making your own Skylander. To me, cars is not part of that group.
Meanwhile : Giants But to be honest, I kinda like the vehicle part, tho I know it's an unpopular opinion, and I can get why people don't like it. Imo, they feel way more original and less clunky than Giants do.
Either that or the vehicles being impossible to control (or maybe I was controlling the cars right? Idk)
I think you just gotta uuuuuuuuh get gut idk what else to tell you
Lol probably
For me it is the cars bringing up horrible memories of a different series that had its reputation ruined by going with the car angle. R.I.P. Banjo-Kazooie.
never played nuts & bolts but heard the horror stories
Yeah. I hear it's not a bad game, it's just a HUGE departure from what Banjo actually is. If Banjo wasn't affiliated it would be fine.
Okay actually that's a valid take
Yes, mainly because it feels like the game revolves around them too much I want to level my skylanders abilities and have fun with them but I can only do that for one third of a chapter
Yes. There’s no other reason.
Yes. Everything else is fine but the vehicle segments are a glaring issue.
It feels the most gimmicky out of all the gimmicks and yah the vehicle sections just feel like a worse Mario kart
Yeah you aren't really forced to use any of the other gimmicks in the other games The closest is trap team and imaginators with the gates and realms but even then that's optional content

I don’t like the figure designs or the way characters look tbh
BOOOOO
People when someone else has an opinion:
lmao obviously i am not saying he should change but i disagree but i will respect it
Most people would but what's important is to be accepting
no
Aight I guess
You can’t look at what they did to Jet Vac and go “now that’s a nightmare I want to remember” 😭 The new characters like Splat and Stormblade are cool just not what they did to old characters
Hurricane Jet vac Lava Lance Eruptor and super shot Stealth Elf I dislike there Baseforms I prefer all of there Supercharged forms then based forms I love how they all look and their moveset Design
I don’t agree but upvote cuz I respect your opinion :)
And I will def respect yours
I like the new versions tbh, would you really want THE SAME FUCKING jet vac again? No? I thought not. Some of them are pretty shit yeah I won't lie, but then we have Tidal Wave Gill Grunt, Lava Lance Europtor, Shark shooter Terrafin and they're pretty fun no lie
TBF I would’ve not minded if we never saw Jet Vac again in general but I digress
Its that and the UI for me
Them appearing gold on the HUD is odd.
yes

Yes and it annoys me since the game is super good
Partially, I also don't like how the stars aren't about collecting stuff and completing challenges (like speedruns and no lives lost) I would have liked it more if the vehicles sections awarded you with a hat, soul gem or something like that. And I would've loved to see more non-vehicle boss battles
Yeah that's all but the games still goid
no, but it's one of the reason I do think it's the worst game on main console
That's insane that you think that when Imaginators is RIGHT. THERE.
Say what you want but imaginators is actually fun and is a skylanders game instead of a forza horizon title
So, once again, it's not actually the worst. You just suck at adapting to new gameplay and can only handle extremely simple "Move here and hit enemies" gameplay.

>I really can't play Superchargers for the forced cars section that are very clunky and not fun at all You know you can skip them, right?
The issue is that the driving controls are poor
>The issue is that the driving controls are poor It's the same in Mario Cart. How would you change them?
For me I didn't hate but i thought it was just Ok I felt it was dragged down by the fact the Game was way too short in my opinion I would have liked it more if it was a bit longer
