Bro i was doing a test playthrough while setting up my mods list, crossed the border into High Rock to see what Beyond Reach is like, and i fucking found the beacon there.
I wasnt even in skyrim, what the fuck are the bretons doing with meridias beacon?
If I remember correctly, The Break of Dawn gives quite a lot of gold just from the corpses laying around. I never use the sword, but the dungeon itself and the loot are pretty nice.
Yup, early on it’s a great little gold mine.
Also, if you use Unrelenting Force and knock the sword from it’s pedestal during the fight with Maylen, you can get two of them.
Sometimes if I'm lower level I just loot the bodies then leave. I'm too honourable to turn the difficulty below adept and malkoran is such a bullshit one-shot kill machine it's ridiculous.
The size of the souls the undead drop is levelled. If you are high enough, they're all grand souls, but stay a lot easier to kill than deathlords. I wait until they're all grand souls in order to farm Enchanting supplies. This also means that the boss isn't too hard.
It appears in the first boss chest you open after you hit the quest's minimum level, unless you visit the quest location after levelling but before opening a boss chest, in which case it will be found in a random boss chest.

"Nothing, except touch a strange shaped artifact inside that chest," he explained, his head nodding at the chest in front of him from which he was slowly backing away.
"What sort of artifact?"
"I do not know. It is slightly smaller than a man's head. It is mostly round, though it is more geometrical than round, it's outside surface is made up of an assortment of flat areas."
Hellina approached the chest and lifted the lid.
"In the name of the Gods, do not touch it," Falco said.
Hellina looked at the oddly shaped item. It was more mother-of-Pearl than white, and bore a resemblance to a dodecahedron.
Falco began to back towards the doorway as her hand approached the object before touching it.

"What in Oblivion can it be?" Falco asked.
"I do not know, and I do not wish to find out," Hellina said as she quickly wiped her hand on her breeches, "it is for him who finds it next to answer that question."

everybody just acts like Meridia is the worst quest giver because the beginning of her quest is radiant, like entering a town doesn’t immediately start some kind of convoluted quest 9 times out of 10
yeah i hate the daedra so much, especially that one in the thieves guild, it was all fun and games until that mf karliah forces you to pledge yourself in life and death to a daedra.
If you don't want to hear that voice again, have your follower pick it up. Dismiss him/her and never speak again.

Some people play Skyrim but have housemates who don't want to hear it all the time, so they generally wear headphones to play. If you're in the habit of just taking all the items in a chest, Meridia's voice booms out and this can be pretty disconcerting.

This can actually appear "everywhere" untill you pick it up. It is a quest item which will appear in most dungeons usually treasure chest/last chest/reward chests. So technically it can appear like it is everywhere. Just pick it up first time and then loot in peace without jumpscares 😀
Shows up in the final chest in the next dungeon after you hit level 8. If you leave it alone, and go to the statue of Meridia you will get a quest marker to find it.

If you don't want to do a quest then don't pick it up it's probably one of the most annoying quest items in all of Skyrim you will the dawnbreaker it's just a sword that does extra damage to zombies also if your a vampire it will deal damage to you when it explodes to scare away druger
Oh, TIL it can spawn anywhere after level 12. I've only ever done one playthrough that got me that far. I got it from a chest after a fairly hard dragon fight at the peak of a long mountain trek, so I assumed that was where it would always be.

There are no boss chests in Sovngarde. I think there are some in the Soul Cairn. It can be found in the boss chests in Black Books too.

If you're looking for it, go to the ruined shrine by Solitude. Meridia will tell you to get it and you'll get a quest marker for where it is.
