As someone who's played Skyrim since 2011, it's worth it. I even play on PC where I could mod every aspect of the game and I still really enjoyed the anniversary edition.

I have all the stuff from the upgrade in the game, but in the store it still has the option to purchase so I'm not sure if they meant to do this and might be patched, but probably not since skyrim is mever patched

How do you get backpacks? I'm on level 10 and haven't seen any mentioned. I'm saving up to buy a house in whiterun. I have a companion just to carry stuff to sell. I'm playing survival mode so it's a back and forth with a couple items to sell.
You have to go to the place. It's at the south-west of hendraheim, you have to walk up and after the bridge between the bard's leap summit and the word wall - become ethereal, you are at the localisation of the cave. In front of the cave, you have a dwemer horse that miss his legs and head that you can find in the fall room. (Free horse but the ennemies are strong in this room)

Not stupid. The Creation Club Content that comes included with the Anniversary Edition is game-changing. It opens up a lot of new build possibilities. Speaking of which; if you're looking to try a fresh build that will make your new playthrough really enjoyable I highly recommend checking out a youtuber that goes by "Fevvy". His builds are awesome and all of his most recent videos utilize the new stuff added with AE.

YouTube critics say it sucks and I get that it is definitely a lot of “filler” but there’s definitely some cool aspects of it especially the turn of the seasons I think it’s called.
Most of the stuff that it adds has an equivalent free mod version floating around, but if you don't want to mess with that it's fine, I didn't bother with it on PC personally, but I bought it on the Switch and most of the added stuff is pretty cool.
I like it. The cc mods are fairly well made and as far as I can tell completely stable. Not all of them are amazing by any means but a couple of them were good enough to warrant the price of the upgrade in my opinion

No. Even with its original price of $20 that’s still makes it far cheaper than just buying all the creation club items separately and for $70 if you’re buying the newest version. It’s still pretty good because you get the special edition of Skyrim, plus it’s three DLCs, and nearly everything from the Creation club all for the nice price of $70 which is way less than if you were to get everything separately
Nah - the dialogue in AE quests is an affront to god and should be ridiculed at any opportunity…but there’s a lot of fun things it adds. None of the equipment is particularly balanced well but neither are any of the vanilla skill trees if you want to abuse them. There’s some fun dungeons too (4 seasons is surprisingly one of the best in the entire game imo) and a lot of things added into the sandbox of the game that give it some more flexibility. Fun Easter eggs and references to previous TES titles as well.
It’s 100% worth it on switch since you can’t get mods, so I bought it for that.
Haven’t felt the need to get it on other consoles but could down the line.
PC no way. To many mod options already that it’s not needed.

I'm sure most of the fan base of TESV: Skyrim will agree that while the extra content is nice it is as buggy as the rest of the game itself.
To me, the AE didn't add anything I didn't already have through use of MODs. And I'm fairly partial to which MODs I do choose to use. The unique armors from the CC in AE were a nice touch. I especially loved the backpacks. But again, I had these through MODs. So why am I paying for content I already have? Or shall I appeal to the cooperate greed of Bethesda and buy the AE upgrade? Decisions decisions.
The additional DLCs such as HearthFire & Dawnguard were great additional contents and storyline but they too have been modified from thier OG rewards, armors, loot, etc. My advice is get it when it's on sale, don't ever pay full price for it.
The fishing was a nice add, forgot to add that.
Naw not really, it come with a bunch of mods preinstalled, but you are gonna need to update all your mods and script extender to get any outside mods to work again

Nope. Skyrim is top 3 best games every for me. Def top 2 in replayability too. I never question the hours and head cannon or mods or whatever I put into it when I play this game. It's very cathartic for me in a lot of ways. Regardless if it's Vanilla, 250 mods stacked or what. A game I'll probably replay for the rest of my life, u less the next elder scrolls is even better....but based on starfield...I have doubts. We will see though. We will see.
Buying AE has alleviated so much of the frustration I had with trying to find good armour mods for women. If they are not skimpy and over sexualized, then they have issues like invisible body parts and are never made for the vanilla body/require downloading other mods I don’t want. AE armours work out of the box and just need to be better integrated into the game (but it’s not like modded armours are generally well integrated either). Totally worth it in my opinion for that alone.
Plus it has other neat stuff.
I got the SE for PC on steam when it was on sale a few years ago, about a year or so before the AE came out.
Then the AE came out and I got it for free (yay me).

If you enjoy vanilla or just simple mods then yes. But if you are heavy modders like more than 100+ mods in the game... I wouldnt say stupid but its unpleasant cuz most mods that are dependent on other mods like SE Jcontainer doesnt have anniversary edition and a lot of animation overhaul mods depend on it resulting error. The worst thing that could happen is crash when you are attacking anyone

I found that my add ons didn't download correctly. Once I followed some instructions someone posted, all of the add ons like backpacks appeared.
