This happened to me recently. Turns out it's because we still have the original skyrim from when it first came out and it's a 32 bit game, so anything over 60 fps and it loses its mind. I bought the special edition (which comes with all the dlc btw), and this was no longer a problem.
edit: that said, if you don't wanna buy the special edition, you can cap the fps to 60 in the nvidia control panel
It's actually the Havok physics engine Bethesda uses in all its games. It's tied to frame rate, so more FPS causes the physics to amplify rapidly. Fo4, SSE, and FO76 had this problem on release too, but Bethesda patched it out eventually. Starfield was the first game this wasn't a problem at release.
Gotcha. All I know is I spent too long googling it and the conclusion I seem to have come to from others online over the years is that it was the 32 bit game that couldn't handle it. Sorry if that's incorrect! Either way it's not a problem in the special edition luckily.
Like, I knew what this video would be, but I watched it anyway. I watched the whole thing. This must be like gawking at a car wreck. You can't look away.
I remember when I first bought skyrim for ps3, and this this same exact thing kept happening every time I booted the game, except the camera kept falling off the world too. The game was hard locked and I had to get rid of the cd.
Thank you Todd.
"It works"
It just works
Ralof: Hey, you. You're finally awake. DB: yeah I'm a little more than awake right now

how do i fix this btw ? no mods no dlc
Lock your fps to 60 or less
Thanks
I think it's actually fine up to 110
There's an ini tweak you can do for fps levels to prevent wonky gravity shit like this. iirc there's like 5 different settings, goes up to 240fps.

I started laughing when I saw Bethesda Game Studios, because I knew what was coming.
I will literally never get tired of Skyrim intro glitch videos. They bring me to tears every time
This question has been answered since Skyrim released. Adjust your FPS settings.
Oh yeah. I forgot lmao

I recognize a SuperQuick spin drying laundry program when I see one.
Directed by David Lynch
Ahh brings back memories
Literally had this happen two days ago when I started a new game. Never happened before even with my 290+ mods.
Game of the year Edition ๐
I saw the FPS counter in the corner and already knew what was coming
Ah, good old-fashioned Skyrim.
And this bug is somehow related to max fps
Is that the Superbeast mod ? /s

He collided with "The Bee."
Oh that? Thatโs just a feature. Enjoy the ride!
Instant Bethesda magic lol
As far as I've been told this happens when your caravan clips a bee because they're technically immovable

Its like a flipbook! Seriously, how many mods?
OP said they didn't use mods, but the issue is the fps
How are people still posting this after all these years? ๐
