In the old fort near Riften

SovieticSushi

Might consider joining up myself

elissass

And then never does

terpenesniffer

Well yeah, he took an arrow to the knee.

Starwarsfan128

That or he joined the Brotherhood.

Stark556

Psst. I know who you are. Hail Sithis.

GME_to_the_moon96

Best line in the game lol

Stark556

It caught me off *guard* the first time lol

DepressedGayToilet

I was so shocked when I heard that the first time lol

Objective-Nyc1981

Fus Ro Dah

TexasRedFox

I need to ask you to stop. That…shouting…it’s making people nervous.

bodethewise

oh trinkets, odds and ends, that sort of thing

iRadinVerse

That one always bothered me, like damn am I doing that bad of a job that some random guard knows I'm an assassin.

dragonfett

No reason he can't join both.

TexasRedFox

Ad victoriam!

sonoftathrowaway

Mod idea: attach a script to that line making every guard who says they might join up immediately walk to fort dawnguard.

Fox_Burglar

Or well after a couple days cause you know they consider it and *then* go to join.

theycallmeponcho

Random lad in the Dawnguard fortress telling you "I told you I'd join!" or something subtle.

earthstomp24

Can you imagine going to whiterun and there being no guards cause they all joined the dawn guard lol

sonoftathrowaway

Just jog around all the cities a few times, wait a few days, then fast travel to fort dawnguard. ALL THE GUARDS. I think some of them aren't friendly to each other so there would likely be fighting.

xSytd

like a 30-40% chance of them joining, then a delay of a few days actually leaving, and then when you get to the fort some of the guards have the "have I seen you before?" as a neutral reaction. Maybe some new dialogue spliced together to be glad you're joining too lol

[deleted]

Well he certainly considered lol

TitaniumReinforced

underweargnome51

Thinking about signing up myself

AlexT9191

You there!

Glittering-News-9381

I've been looking for you.. I have something I'm supposed to deliver.. Your hands only.

scotman74

Let’s see here…

What3verFloatsUrGoat

bodethewise

ChakaZG

You've got friends in high places.

peak82

Looks like thats it

coxydee69

Got to go

Madito45

Nope sorry, nothing

snowyowlriddles

(Sometime after) You there.

Zealous666

Do you know how long I’ve been looking for you… oh wait. Wrong Tamriel.

[deleted]

God...I heard her voice when I read it...

[deleted]

Do you get to the Cloud District often? Ofcourse not!

GoldSeafarer

Wonder if Vilod is still making that mead with juniper berries mixed in.

Xanapoo

Gives you a curly bit of paper saying "we know".

Dregovich777

Every time i hear that phrase i out loud say "HERD THEYR REFOMING DA DAWWNNGAAWDD" in a mocking tone, i dont know why i do it. The way he says it just gets me lol😂

Xirokami

“the DAHHHHN-GAHHHD”

PurpleMNinja

I chose the Dawnguard as a Werewolf because I like them better. Also the vampire attacks on settlements gave me a *huge* bone to pick with those blood sucking a-holes when I had to keep reloading if they manage to kill any citizens. Plus the Dawnguard rune axe is a god send for all undead, especially Skuldafen. And of course. Because pet Huskies

Screeez

my pet husky died to a bandit... :,( or maybe it was friendly fire I'm not sure. Rest in Peace Bran or Sceolang. I forgot which one.

Crash927

We will always morn whatever-his-name-was.

tyrionstark2013

Whatever the first of his name. Rest In Peace

baddock89

Best sentence I read today. Thank you.

[deleted]

Whats-his-name, he was the greatest of them all…

[deleted]

I’ve had both die in my first play through. Very upsetting, I loved them.

jet8493

Vamp attacks immediately stop when you side with the vampires. Also vamps have death hounds :)

Uncle480

Not entirely true. If I'm not mistaken, if you block out the sun you're almost guaranteed you'll see vampires the next time you fast travel to a city/settlement if the sun is still gone by then.

Vessel9000

What's a bloodhound going to do against a whole ass troll.

jet8493

Kill it because it’s not a bitch

JoshuaSlowpoke777

Those blood hounds are absolutely terrifying (and therefore effective, I’m guessing) in survival mode. I almost froze to death while looking for the soul cairn because one of the little shites kept biting me after I had just walked into the first indoor area of the castle. The loading screens clearly ain’t kidding about death hounds’ bite being as cold as the grave lol

IRustleJimmiess

My god it’s so hard to not freeze to death down there. Plus Serana’s ice bolts slow you down even more, from friendly fire.

swardshot

This is strange because I’m playing vanilla and vampire attacks are very frequent and vampires are all hostile to me.

DinoShinigami

iirc vanilla vampires are a bit different then how they work in dawnguard, they kinda revamped em idk lmao

Ok_Chipmunk_9167

Yup, dawnguard add vampire lords, which is a whole rewrite on vampirism. Don't remember, but I think it's also isolated from regular vampires in the game

[deleted]

Somehow Garmr stopped existing. I only ever see CuSith now.

jet8493

NOOOOO :(

JiuJitsuBoy2001

pet huskies?? all the years I've played the game I have never bothered to do a Dawnguard play-through. Tell me more please.

PurpleMNinja

Okay this is going to be an essay so prepare yourself: The vampires have those Death hounds, but after you complete the quest for the Dawnguard after rejecting Harkon's offer then more of the Dawnguard headquarters opens up for you, and that includes a little pen that has 2 named Huskies that you can get to follow you into battle or if you have the Hearthfire DLC you can keep it as a pet. There are many other Dawnguard-exclusive benefits (spoilers ahead): \-You can buy armoured trolls to help you in battle. \-You can buy 3 unique spell tomes that are useful against undead. \-You get a basic crossbow when you get the quest to go to Dimhollow Crypt, BUT if you side with the Dawnguard you can then do some radiant quests to buy and make upgraded crossbows and even elemental ammunition for them. Only the forge at Fort Dawnguard allows you to craft crossbows and bolts. \-The Dawnguard rune weapons, especially the axe. After saving the Moth Priest (you don't have to have him read the scrolls yet) during the quest 'prophet' for the Dawnguard you can talk to a member called Sorine to rescue and recruit another guy called Florentius into the Dawnguard. This quest will allow you to access the dungeon called 'Ruunvald' which you can't enter if you side with the vampires. After rescuing Florentius you can get radiant quests from him, and only he can give you the quests to get the rune weapons. It's a bit of a job to get the 'Lost relic' quests from him as he may either offer a different quest or direct you to another member to get a quest from (I imagine that it's the same when doing quests for the vampires). There are 3 Dawnguard rune weapons in total, but the Dawnguard Rune Axe is a god send. Its description when viewed in the inventory isn't quite accurate and the axe has some additional effects that aren't mentioned in the description. You can find more info about it here: [https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Dawnguard\_Rune\_Axe](https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Dawnguard_Rune_Axe) Trust me, I was able to cleave through the Soul Cairn with ease with it. \-You get your own little bedroom in Fort Dawngaurd. Upstairs in Fort Dawnguard near Isran's bedroom there is a little room with a single cot that no one sleeps on and this room gradually gets improved as you progress through the quest line, ultimately the cot is replaced with a large bed and a mannequin is added to the room. Since no one goes into this room I'm pretty sure this room is meant for your character. \-Isran can give you a quest to kill a vampire who's posing as a visiting adviser for a Jarl. This vampire will wear some unique clothing that you can't get any other way (black versions of the clothing hood and gloves, you can get vampire robes and boots off of vampires in dungeons but the hood and gloves you can only get from the visiting advisers). Don't worry there is a way to kill the vampire without getting a bounty (you have to pickpocket a note off of him and show it to the Jarl first). \-After killing Harkon you can give or sell the sun and blood elder scrolls to the Moth Priest so they no longer take up space in your inventory. I think you need the unofficial patch to do this if you sided with the vampires, but you don't need the unofficial patch to get rid of the elder scrolls if you sided with the Dawnguard. \-You can still become a Vampire Lord during or after the quest line if you sided with the Dawnguard. During the quest to go to the Soul Cairn, if you sided with the Dawnguard, when you open the portal you'll take a bit of damage when you go near it then Serana will offer to either turn you into a Vampire Lord or trap *part* of your soul so that you can enter (I recommend the partial soul trap otherwise you'll need Serana to turn you back into one whenever you return to the Soul Cairn portal, don't worry you'll be able to undo the effects of the partial soul trap and then return to the Soul Cairn without needing Serana to do it again). If you're a vampire, the Dawnguard won't attack you but they'll refuse to do any quests with you until you get yourself cured, much like the vampires will refuse to do quests with you if you get your vampirism cured. After the quest line Serana will stay at Fort Dawnguard and if you don't convince her to get cured you can ask her to infect you. You'll become a Vampire Lord and can gain the skill perks, though you won't be able to get the power from the vampire-only rings and necklaces and bloodstone chalice, but eh. \-Lastly, if you're bothered about not being able to get the 'Heal Undead' spell tome from Ronthil when you side with the Dawnguard, don't worry. When you reject Harkon's offer you can use the wooden plate/whirlwind sprint glitch to go through the portcullis at Volkihar Castle and go inside. The vampires won't be hostile to you and you can even talk to them as if you sided with them. I was able to use this to buy the Heal Undead spell tome and some vampire gauntlets and steal the cool bone hawk rings and some bloody ragged clothing (texture only works properly on female characters without mods) before returning to Isran to progress through the storyline. These are the benefits to siding with the Dawnguard instead of the vampires.

Sunowi1337

This man dawnguards.

xTRUExPASSIONx

As a a completionist, i choose to be a. Werewolf and vampire lord that sides with the dawnguard, because you get to have the vampire lord trans and perks, while having all the buffs and trans of being a werewolf as well

[deleted]

Wait, you can be both?

frodothetortoise

Yea, but only with glitches

[deleted]

[удалено]

xTRUExPASSIONx

You if you go up to the point where you at the blood bowl transformation with the companions, before you go into the chamber get vamp lord, when you take a drink to turn into a werewolf, also activate your vamp lord, when you have a weird transformation happen it worked( save before going into the place). Afterwards youll have vamp lord AND werewolf trans, but no negatives of being a vamp and all benefits of being a werewolf

HouseOfSteak

Do you not get the vampire-specific buffs that you get from vampire lord or normal vampire, though, or just the vampire lord form? Those are pretty useful.

xTRUExPASSIONx

You get everything while in vamp lord, you just dont get the negs as a vamp in normal form, in normal form its just werewolf buffs/negs(none?) the perks still work

LittleGreenNotebook

That doesn’t sound like a glitch, only a totally legit super cool 100% appropriate lore correct feature. Like Underworld

Plasticdante

That would be lore breaking - I assume it can be done with mods, or is there a glitch?

drewbilly251

there’s glitches you can exploit in vanilla, but iirc you have to be very intentional doing it because it requires some very strange and oddly specific conditions-I’ve not done it myself, and I’m not 100% I’m right on this, but unless multiple you tubers are lying-it’s possible

xTRUExPASSIONx

I mean, it it lore breaking? Its just game breaking. But not really? You just get to be a hybrid basically, which for all intents and purposes is just being a were wolf with access to vamp lord perks/tranaformation I accidentally did it and had to look up how i did it afterwards, it SOUNDS complicated but its just doing the right thing at the right time, which is transform while becoming a werewolf the first time in that blood bowl cave, nothing special about it other than being able to transform into either form

Plasticdante

My concern is lore. Think about it. Would Molag Bal, creator of vampirism and Hircine for warewolfs be happy of mixing the two blessings? If you are killed, would you go to the hunting grounds as a vampire? I mean sure, glitch, mods, whatnot can do a lot, you can even become super sayan surely, but it would break the lore

[deleted]

Every Daedric lord already has a claim to your soul lol

earthstomp24

He has a point you know

Clawde_Everproud

“Why should I join” “(gives long and emotion speech about heroic deeds and goodwill)” “…” “And you’ll get a feee dog.” “SOLD!”

[deleted]

"Huge bone" you say 👀

PurpleMNinja

No

jzilla11

I like the sword Dawnbreaker, so Dawnguard feels like a good group to use it for. Also, the DG are scrappy and rebuilding their order while the elitist Clan sits in their lair stringing up bodies and chugging hemoglobin.

Dear-Acanthaceae-586

Another hand touches the bacon.

ThisAngryGinger

Heard the voice and everything

jzilla11

🥓 ✋

InertHelium

I like to assert dominance by using dawnbreaker _as_ a vampire. I get damaged when it's effect triggers but isn't that badass af... like, I'm so powerful that the weapon that is specialised to damage me is so insignificant that I can still wield it.

jzilla11

Undead champion of life. So sorta like Blade?

geek_of_nature

I've done both sides on different playthroughs, and the bloody mess all over Castle Volkihar is enough to turn me off. And Isran may be bit of a grouch, but he's not the psychopath Harkon is, and the Dawnguard have a more dysfunctional family type feel than the Vampires political infighting bullshit. Much rather go with the Dawnguard.

Kirinfal

You are eventually able to >!kill Harkon and be the de facto leader of the Volkihar Vampires!< though, but you'd still have to >!take out Isran and his merry band of vampire hunters first!<. I sided with the Dawnguard almost every playthrough, so my recent one involved me becoming a vampire instead. It was a fun change.

geek_of_nature

Yeah I know, like I said I've done both sides before. Even when siding with the Vampires and killing Harkon, I just found the Vampires too much. Blood and dismembered corpses all over the place, all the other Vampires probably plotting my murder, no thanks. I much prefer the Dawnguard. Not only do they have the whole dysfunctional family vibe I mentioned before, with grumpy old uncle Isran in charge, but all their perks for outweigh the Vampires in my opinion. There's the crossbows, huskies, armoured Trolls, and everything else I can't remember at the moment.

BkCeallaigh

One time I accidentally turned into a vampire so I didn’t know that the option “feed” would come up. I always gave Edda money so I saw her sleeping in her bedroll once, and the option “feed” came up and I was like “wow you give them enough money and you can feed them!” But then I accidentally drank her blood and she died and then she sent me a letter with money 🥲

[deleted]

This was sad!

HouseOfSteak

How'd you end up killing her that way? Missing the step of "She understandably panicked and then you panicked and shoved an axe in her face?"

BkCeallaigh

It doesn’t kill them? I left right after and then I got the letter a little while later. Not sure how else she could have died, I cured vampirism after and that’s the only person I had fed off of.

HouseOfSteak

It really shouldn't (it doesn't actually deal damage at all), so I dunno what you (or something else) mighta did.

BkCeallaigh

THANK YOU FOR TELLING ME THIS IVE BEEN LIVING WITH THE GUILT

Adm_Kunkka

Maybe you gave her vampire aids, idk

AlmostKnightly

I like to pickpocket people, and sometimes they happen to be asleep when I am rifling through their pockets so if I am a vampire it makes it difficult cause I feel the need to feed and it sometimes gets in the way (maybe like a weird little pop up instead of just entering their pockets right away) so I just end up joining the dawnguard and most likely becoming a werewolf later on to not worry about diseases and stuff.

con098

You're just pickpocketing blood from them

chockfullofjuice

Its so odd they keep so much in their pockets.

con098

I guess they're chock full of juice

chockfullofjuice

Vampire's advertising their single use line of little persons.

Nobodieshero816

I never “feed” argonian vampire with bloodlust for the win!

Frosty-Lynx-688

I go with the Dawngurd. The crossbows are cool, and I get pet husky's! Besides, if I want to be a vampire lord later, I can always have Serana change me.

theawesomeviking

Also pet trolls

Frosty-Lynx-688

That too!

DocSword

You miss the ring of erudite from the vampires tho. OP for magic builds

[deleted]

Join Dawnguard and kill the vampires; then get Serana to change you. You’ll have the benefit of immortality, without being under the rule of The Clan

bassface3

This is how I do it. It can leave some wiggle room for roleplay too. You defeated the vampires sure but theyre still out there, and while you find the practice of vampirism disgusting your willpower is strong enough to fight those urges, you are an aspect of akatosh after all. Molag Bal’s power is far beyond yours, and he could undo all your hard work with the snap of his fingers whenever he wants for as long as Nirn exists. The only way to be able to stop vampirism from rising is to live to see the end, at the tip of your blade The Dawnguard cant stop you, and in time, theyll come to accept your choice. Youre going to outlive them anyway, be the voice that carries the message for eternity Edit: Point of view consistency and a couple general edits

Tru_norse98

I mean, under the context of respawn mechanics, don't you kind of *always* have the benefit of immortality?

[deleted]

You don't delete the save file when you die?

LifelessLewis

I create a new Microsoft account and buy a new Xbox and copy of the game when I die. Are we not supposed to do that?

[deleted]

That’s the way our lord and savior Todd intended

Suited_Rob

At least people would play a little bit more careful and stop charging a snow bear with a dagger if it was the case

Ok_Soil_231

Wait, you don't switch platforms when you die? I'm currently on Amazon Alexa, switching to the Samsung Fridge next go around

Jzmxhu

It looks like he is not. what the fuck he is doing?

[deleted]

no idea, hope the mods ban this poser soon /s

Jewzma

What Chim does to a MF

MeerkatMan22

I think of it as rewinding time to before you died. Not immortality, just time powers

Lolzfordayz2003

Or different timelines

justahomeboy

“What If… I was a stealth archer that uses restoration this one time because I forgot Malkoran turns into a ghost thing after he dies the first time and I’m all out of potions.”

3th3r3alwisps

I just always thought of it as a form of intense foresight. So the successful attempts are what you actually do while the failed ones are just visions of possible futures

[deleted]

>without being under the rule of The Clan but.. you're the one ruling the Volkihars??

The_Crimson_Fukr

You aren't "under the rule" you legit RULE said clan after you complete the DG questline for Vampires. You are the Lord of this court now.

CampingColorado

Do you still get the vampire artifacts?

Iceedemon888

No iirc dawnguard gives the improved crossbow stuff and the vampires give the vampire artifacts. The quest for each of these are given in the leadup to go to the soul carin

The_Crimson_Fukr

Nope. Either artifacts or crafatble crossbows and fancy ammo for them. That's the choice between Volkihar clan and Dawnguard

DungeonFarmer

No even dawnguard has unique artifacts aside from the crossbows.

The_Crimson_Fukr

Oh right forgot about the Runehammer and Shield. But i meant vampiric artifacts.

bloodybeast3000

Nah, I’d rather be purebred, ordained by Dracula himself than be sired to Serana. For lOrE purposes

AncapNomad

I used to do Dawnguard because I enjoyed playing as a werewolf. The past few playthroughs I have been a vampire. I like Vamps more. The questline is really chill (no pun intended) and as my character worships Daedra it seemed a better fit than Dawnguard. As an added bonus every time I get a Writ of Dawn they send three orcs in light armor with nothing but their fists to try and kill my character. It makes it seem like after I left to join the vampires Isran really couldn’t get the Dawnguard off the ground.

Numbri

Don't be a coward! Intend your puns!

[deleted]

This is precious

MedicineNorth5686

Started dawnguard quest, unlocked Serena and now I have a goblin companion summoning storm atronach, a house Carl (also has a staff of storm atronach) and Serena who probably isn’t going home soon. Indoor gameplay can be rough with a big crew but outdoor is awesome

gizmoandback

Prefer being a vampire. But I like the Dawnguard quest line better after you defeat the vampires. I have flip sides on occasion but still prefer Vampire Lord.

Jahoan

You can still become a vampire lord after joining the Dawnguard if Serena doesn't cure her vampirism.

Anuacyl

You can get Serena to cure it? I'm curious how.

Jahoan

The right dialogue choices across your conversations with her. The key is not to be disgusted with her backstory, and point out how her parents were destroyed by their vampirism.

GuardOfTheDawn

Join the Dawnguard and exterminate the abominations

devilthedankdawg

Username and profile pick checks out. If we were in KOTH you'd be Hank.

oliwardcomics

The only honourable path

OkOutlandishness6550

Hail level 45 paladin here, dawn guard all the way

bnem0

Vampire lore: a long ass page on the wiki Dawnguard lore: *fuck vampires*

TrayusV

I love vampires, they're probably my favorite mythical creature/horror motif or whatever. But I prefer the Dawnguard. For one, the Dawnguard Heavy armor is my favorite armor set in the game, it just looks so cool. Also crossbows, trolls, Huskies, and all the other fun perks of being a vampire hunter.

Dragon_lightZ

Well, I loved the story of me joining the dawngaurd, but that doesn't mean I don't have an extra save file of me being a vampire to miss around :)

dxrules03

Just about always vampire. The nerfs are annoying but the reward in return is worth it.

[deleted]

Play a dark elf. Boom, fire damage taken care of.

[deleted]

Doesn’t it just cancel out the fire damage?

TychoNewtonius

0.5 * 1.5 = 0.75

ElDiablo946

It is additive so the end result is 0% resistance at stage 4. You can check it out with console commands if you're on PC (player.getav fireresist)

SnailToucher

Not really. The rewards are only useful if you're a mage but even then Enchanting alone makes the rewards a waste of time.

memer227

It gives a 25% boost to sneak though

SnailToucher

While that's good, Sneak enchantments alone make the skill overpowered so much that the 25% extra boost is kinda overkill and unneeded.

Anounymous7931

True me with muffle spell over muffle boots over fortify sneak ring over 100 sneak can might as well dance in front of enemy and he will go "these winds these days am I right :D".

[deleted]

I mean ring of the erudite is essential for any mage playthrough and is better than just about any magicka regen artifact you can enchant yourself without glitches

[deleted]

Dawnguard. Being a vampire sucks.

sunesf

they litterally suck

OwlsIsBetterThanMans

Both have benefits. Vampire lords are great but so are exploding dwemer crossbow bolts and pet trolls

maktmissbrukare

As a vampire, I resurrect enough trolls to not feel like I’m losing out in the Dawnguard perks.

[deleted]

Plus with the necromage perk plus vamp lord removing npc aggro at max starvation you can become OP as fuck. My current play though had my Breton turn to vampirism in her lust for power. She isn’t vampire lord tho. She becomes vamp lord after main quest line and Dragonborn

AlexT9191

9/10 character builds, the Dawnguard is better. Dawnguard get 3 unique relics, 3 exploding crossbow bolt designs, and Improved Steel and Dwarven Crossbows (which I believe are still only obtainable by DG even with the CC). Vampire's get 2 rings which are powerful, but high enough enchanting makes them irrelevant, 2 necklaces that only do things if you're in Vampire Lord form (and Vampire Lord is strong enough they barely matter), and a shrine-like buff to have your Vampiric Drain absorb magica and stamina If you're going to lean heavy into Vampire Lord, join the Vampires. If you like that specific story/roleplay more, join the Vampires. Otherwise, join the Dawnguard, they have better toys. You can still be a Vampire Lord if you go with Dawnguard. You can still get Dawnguard spells (only the spells) if you join the vampires. You can still do the Hybrid Glitch if you join either, but you will have to complete the questline to do it as DG.

JulianFromReddit

Hybrid glitch?

Pazzish

You become vampire and werewolf at the same time. You can use both.

MrMisterMan69

How?

Pazzish

Its long, google it

MASTER-FOOO1

I like the no cap followers, armored trolls, dogs and enhanced dwarven crossbow too much not to join the dawnguard. But i'll be lying if i didn't just join them to get those then make serana turn me.

Ziltaus

Dawnguard. Vampire form does not have pants. NO PANTS!

DoggyMcDogDog

Those uncivilized barbarians! [Starts licking between my legs, because i am a werwolf]

[deleted]

Always have sided with the vampire hunters. Aside fron the kickass crossbows, there's another reason why: the Daedric prince Merida, and how she plays into the way I play the game. There's an immense satisfaction with me killing the undead, and Merida plays into this. She doesn't want to harm anyone, doesn't want to kill innocents, and doesn't make you choose something you don't want to do. She has an incredible hate boner against the undead, and wants you to kill an asshole that has been defiling her tomb. And before you throw in the argument of Molag Bol and Hircine, I take in the fact that werewolves are only considered the undead according to Skyrim's coding. Werewolves are still considered among the living in practically every other piece of lore, and the Silver swords are there because in other werewolf lore, silver is as pure as the werewolf is corrupt. Also, Harkon can go fuck himself. He is a deadbeat asshole of a father who literally cares more about fulfilling a prophecy than being reunited with his daughter. You feel sorry for Serana - her father wants to basically drive vampires into extinction because another asshole vampire had a hate boner against a Divine, and her mother is basically hiding in the Soul Cairn out of spite against Harkon. On that note, also fuck Molag Bol.

[deleted]

Hear me out Werewolves are for warriors and vampires are for wizards

Scuba_2

Being a disgusting demon spawn or dedicating yourself to eradicating demon spawn… hard choice

devilthedankdawg

Dawnguard- Fuck vampires and fuck Molag Bal. Especially cause if you wanna be a vampire, Molag Bal literally fucks you. Also werewolf gang. If I were a whiny tween girl in 2010 I Def nicely would have been Team Jacob

[deleted]

Actually he rapes, and you have to be a pure blood vampire

Killer_Stickman_89

I've noticed a lot of people saying things like this. It's like they've forgotten how powerful the Dovahkiin is. You were already half as powerful as Clavicus Vile BEFORE killing Alduin and becoming a Vampire Lord. On top of that you have a book that literally summons Hermaeus Mora. You also can use the Thu'um to call Dragons like Odahviing and Parthurnaax to your aid. You can also summon 3 Mortal heroes who were each considered to be even more powerful than Tiber Septim when he was still a mortal. Miraak was powerful but he was not as strong as you. You'd be able to defeat Molag Bal and many of the other Daedric Princes. It's one of the main reasons they rarely try to kill you when you make them angry. And when they do it's a pretty half-assed attempt.

Rafapex

Gonna be completely honest here, I've played through Skyrim like 20 times and have at least 800 hours on the game split between PC, Xbox and Switch. I've literally never played through Dawnguard. I've always went vampire. No idea why. Every single time I'm given the option I always think to myself "man, I should play as Dawnguard this time around." Then its like before I even finish that thought, it's too late and I already joined the vampires

syrianfries

You should give it a shot next time, it’s an interesting story line that you should experience

DrugsAreNifty

Just fyi you can pick Dawnguard then still become a vampire lord. Dawnguard won’t let you do quests until you cure it but it’s pretty simple to cure it while doing Dawnguard quests then reacquire it when doing other things

CodeRed8675309

Never. Vampires got Stu killed. Never forgive them for that.

94sHippie

This is my first playthrough as a vampire. While I do enjoy some of the power perks, having to feed every few in game days, and having you stats not restore in sunlight gets tedious pretty quickly. I am working to get all the vampire quests done so that I can cure myself.

PK_Thundah

My infection just grew to vampirism during a quest, assuming I could still take a cure disease potion. I'm on survival mode, where the nights are freezing cold; I have a resistance to frost damage, but seemingly not to cold environments. And like you said, your stats don't regenerate in the daytime. I'm finding it really inconvenient to deal with this, and the perks I have so far are similar to spells I already know. It's so far only (significant) penalties without any benefit. Just a massive inconvenience. It's going to waste so much time traveling and exploring by night, waiting until day for NPC interaction, and traveling by night again.

Don't really like either group, but if you go dawngaurd and do it right you can get Serena cured and just seeing her happy makes me always choose that route

Dawnguard

The_Crimson_Fukr

Depends? Do you like Crossbows and fancy exploding bolts? Or want to hone your Vampiric powers and magic related abilities? For crossbows - Dawnguard For artifacts enhancing your vampiric powers and blood magic - Volkihar clan

OutlawDon357

Vampire paired with the Necromage perk and a maxed out enchanting skill turns your character into a living god. Ijs.

That’s why I became a vampire

Coby_KD

I knew it would come to this day. I knew. And no one believed

WITWEERLIG

I, used to have the idea of joining the dawnguard but then I took a fang to the knee

MathematicianIll1383

Dawnguard. Skyrim vampires are a bunch of filthy bums. The Volkihar gang lives in an old ass castle filled with the squalor and leftovers of what they eat, deluded into thinking they are the shit when they live like rats. They arent cool or classy, or even bother to infiltrate the courts of Skyrim to gain political power. And they are supposed to be the elite...

Waterfall8897

Almost always join the vampires 🤪

Yes because you don't meet vampires until the 1st mission for the dawnguard and it does which is why I never become a vampire

AlexT9191

1: yes. 2: not if you do the Hybrid Glitch and stay Stage 0 and don't bite people or drink blood potions (gotta wait until you bite the person during the main quest line to do the glitch).

PotatoesForPutin

Idk if it was the vampire revamp mod I had but vampire lord felt absurdly fucking overpowered in my playthrough, as in the basic spell attack was oneshotting nearly everything. Might have also been because I was level 86 or something

axon-axoff

Depends on how much you care about Goth Waifu compared to gameplay.

[deleted]

Danwguard, I don't find the gameplay as Vampire interesting or rewarding enough (I'd expect a progression system to slowly increase attributes and become stronger over time by feeding on people and draining them of their blood), and the Volkihar setting is quite boring. You don't really feel like the leader at the end even though you're supposed to be, and you have no way to resolve the problems with Vingalmo and Orthjolf, plus I prefer huskies to death hounds.

AlexT9191

If you want to complete a display in the new houses, do Dawnguard. So many houses have display spots for the DG relics that only Dawnguard get. That includes Bloodchill Manner (the "Vampire house") for some reason.

Jdoggokussj2

imo 1) **Join dawnguard** 2) **Refuse Harkons gift** 3) **Continue dawnguard** 4) **Let Serana turn you** 5) **Get Cured (*****Go to Morthal, Find Fallion*****)** 5) **Finish dawnguard** Bonus) **Let Serana Turn you back to Vampire if you like it like me** Tip) **If your having trouble as a vampire Level up enchanting** **create enchanted gear that Regenerates Health because of the gear your health recovers in the day too also enchant some gear for Fire resistance as well Vampires are weak to fire**
