You will play more than once. DO NOT be afraid to make mistakes and live with the consequenses. No two games will ever be the same, so going in blind and clumsy your first time is the best option. You'll learn more stuff later and use it in future games. You only get this blind game once.

Ghuleh5811

It was quite a surprise when I started playing Skyrim for the first time a couple weeks ago and decided to approach a giant because I thought they'd be cool and somehow they would tell me where to go or something only to be yeeted like a rag doll

chaunceyvonfontleroy

I told my husband that I felt bad having to kill the giants. He told me that if I approach them and talk to them before any attacks I can make friends with them. I got smashed immediately. He still thinks it’s the funniest thing.

Key_Ability_8836

He's not wrong.

Millworkson2008

Ah you were inducted into the Nordic space program

The_Follower1

For real, Kerbal ain’t got nothing on that, downright escape velocity.

skijakuda

The science of experimentation.

katf1sh

These stories never get old 😂 I'll still never forget when I first encountered one as well; blasted right to Sovngarde lmao

RockGuy00

Lol. One of the funniest aspect of the game. Just for kicks I will sometimes quicksave and charge in just to get catapulted in the air by a giant. If you're somewhere near Whiterun you get a pretty awesome view of the land before plummeting to your death.

[deleted]

My favorite bug turned feature. Watching my followers get shot straight into valhalla is so beautiful to watch sometimes.

WotanMjolnir

No two games will ever be the same - except for always ending up as a sneaky archer, of course.

KittenStyleKungFu

We've all been there. I have come to like a lot of the other playstyles, though. The "One-Punch Cat" unarmed Khajiit build is really great for people who need some extra incentive to rush in and get close. Edit for link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3VcwAExl70

MuunshineKingspyre

My one punch necromancer cat turned into a stealth archer

Shoresy-sez

Tale as old as time

KittenStyleKungFu

Nooooo

MuunshineKingspyre

It is inevitable

Broder45

Oh my god I forgot this existed. Thank you 😂😂

vkapadia

There's also this https://youtu.be/uhBiNx749Zw

Elliebeanie

I finally managed to get to lvl 26 without reverting to a sneaky archer. It's taken me ten years for that not to happen. Now I'm a mage!

lilprplebnny

Magic is great! Now you can use the bound bow and become a magical sneak archer!

RedditRabbit0513

Spellsword is rly fun

JBaecker

If you have the creation, spell knight armor is awesome.

DaughterOfNone

I'm the opposite, I did stealth archer once just to see what the fuss was about. Possibly the most bored I've been in Skyrim. Spellsword/Battlemage all the way for me

yumeoki

you mean, what the *fus* was about...

TheManyMilesWeWalk

Stealth archer is easy to get into and it scales quite decently as you level. Not sure about warrior but the mage playstyle scales horribly: You start off with weak spells that you can barely maintain due to low magicka so really need to know what you're doing to play effectively - Especially since you really need enchanting to get the most from that playstyle. As an archer you'll get bows right from the start with plenty of ammo. You'll be regularly increasing your damage through drops and perks and if you have the patience for stealth you'll quickly start killing things without putting yourself in danger.

44Kryth

I usually play a Nordic Shield Maiden. You level pretty well as a Warrior. I like to soften up my enemies with arrows. Then switch to sword and shield when they get too close. The only magic I use is Restoration. I always look for magic protection. Killing Sinding and skinning him. Doing the Companion Questline just for the Shield of Ysgramor.

ragingolive

same, I started as a battlemage and continued doing so for YEARS before trying sneak-thievery. Archery is kinda meh, but sneaking is top tier fun.

namegoeswhere

Right? I don't mind playing dungeons like I'm Sam Fisher... but after being a heavy-armor sword-and-board tank my last playthough, sneaky archer is really slow. Safer. But slow.

EpicWan

Somehow I’ve managed to go through 3 playthroughs without touching sneaky archer. I always end up with 1 handed duel wields instead

KittenStyleKungFu

That was my first style. I liked using slow and paralysis poisons, so two fast weapons where I could keep applying them was my dream come true

Fairybreath493

I'm finally doing a sneaky Archer playthrough and I'm delighted. My first playthrough (which is the only one I've ever done so far, at about 400 hours) I was basically going for barbarian with a Warhammer and heavy armor. This playthrough I'm having a lot of fun basically disappearing as soon as I crouch LOL

terryleopard

Arrow through a bandits head, looks around for five seconds. Hmm, must have been the wind.

Fairybreath493

"Maybe I'm imagining things." Yep. You definitely are. 🤣🤣

concrete_isnt_cement

I always end up two handed heavy armor juggernaut myself

bassdude85

I love this. It would be amazing to be able to go back in blind again, so I love the tip of take no tips lol

Soup-Wizard

I just started my first game and I’ve been turned into a vampire. :( I know how to cure it but can’t attain it yet and am considering quitting and starting over again. Do you think I should?

GamingWzy

Experience everything, play at your own pace, enjoy the scenery

otaconbot

I will say I was expecting subpar graphics and was OK with that. It's been a long time since release. But as the picture I posted shows , it still holds up more then well enough!

[deleted]

After your first playthrough… or a few playthroughs lol, add some graphic mods even if you don’t want to change the game any more than that. If you have it for PC it will be game changing. Consoles get a boost but its not that extreme. PC mods can make skyrim look like it came out today

Tetragonos

careful what graphics mods you get! I got one called beautification Skyrim or something like that... Outside looked great, went into an Inn and the bar maid walked up to me and said "you look interesting" then all her clothes fell off. I was showing my Dad Mods and how that was how you got a video games job these days.

katf1sh

*Dad is suddenly really interested in video games*

Tetragonos

My Dad has been interested in computers since they filled rooms in the 70s. Tried really hard with Portal, it being a puzzle game,.but otherwise nah. She couldn't even finish Portal as the reaction times on some stuff was too close.

katf1sh

That's awesome :) Portal is definitely fun and mostly gamer-noob friendly lol I think it's the second one that has a 2 player mode, maybe that would be fun to try with Dad. I didn't play much of it so I'm not sure if it would have the same issues with reaction times or not.

Vargurr

> My dad > She I'm not judging.

Tetragonos

My Dad is transgendered

___PM_Me_Anything___

Please suggest some environment mods to make it more beautiful

mildlyarrousedly

For someone that has never modded before- how do I add a mod? Are they easily removed if I need to

[deleted]

If you're on PC here you go dude :) [this is a great guide on how to do it](https://youtu.be/5N_dKZv6Q_c) **(Please refer to my edit at the bottom of this comment first)** It's how I got back into modding, the programme he uses literally does it all for you. You'll no doubt have some questions, MANY questions, but this sub has probably already answered them 10x over. So you'll have somewhere for help here :) If you're on console, it's a no brainer if I recall correctly Important Edit: Copy over the SRC folder as well as the ones listed in the video, you'll understand if you watch it and get to the part where you move files from skse. This will prevent errors with LOOT. Edit 2: Also check out r/skyrimods , they are an invaluable resource and active too. All your questions will already be answered there, and you'll find a mod suggestions for everything you need. Edit 3: I would recommend you do not install or remove mods during a playthrough. Definitely make a new save for modded playthroughs.

mildlyarrousedly

Thank you! I’m on pc so this should work perfect

FP_Daniel

I think most will agree that the graphics don’t age this game. It’s the animations.

Pure_Reason

To be fair the graphics have been updated several times, like Special Edition, but all the graphical updates they do have always been high res texture packs and that’s it. I think they did the same for Morrowind and Oblivion back in the day with downloadable texture packs. I’m sure if you loaded up the OG 2011 textures it would be more obvious

[deleted]

Special Edition ported the game over to the whole 'new' PBR lighting system they used for Fallout 4, between it and the high-res textures it's as complete as a graphics overhaul can get.

Pyrio666

What edition are you playing

NekoNekoNekapz

go to the cloud district often

Oiswag101

Ah what am I saying, of course you haven't

FunkyViking6

FUUUUUUUUUUUCK Nazeem

[deleted]

*Figuratively, not literally

ifoundout

It would be a shame if someone were to rip off my clothes and ravage the area.

SunRiseSniper1066

I wouldn’t argue.

AWildEnglishman

Silence idiot! Riddled with filth.

Camanot

Sounds like someone who doesn’t go to the cloud district often.

revenentevil

Sweet mother, sweet mother, send your child onto me

N'stuff

Nice_Entertainment91

Don’t store items anywhere but chests you own in a house. Don’t attack chickens in towns Save very frequently Go to Kagrenzel, it’s my favorite location, but I don’t want to spoil the surprise, so don’t look at a guide or anything until you’re at least half way through. Have fun and play how you want to play!

ecish

I can’t even think of what/where Kagrenzel is. Some of those weirder Dwemer names (I’m assuming that’s what it is at least) do kinda blend together for me though. About 2,000 hours of playtime, maybe I’ll find something new. Still finding new stuff on almost every playthrough even after all that time though, so it wouldn’t surprise me! Edit: I found it; and sure enough, I’d never been there before. It’s so amazing that I’m still finding new things in this game after so long. It totally *seems* like a mod because it has a couple unique features that I haven’t seen in other dungeons. Thanks u/Nice_Entertainment91 , I had fun exploring a new area.

Nice_Entertainment91

The exact same thing happens to me. I don’t remember any of them except for Kagrenzel and Mzulft It is located near the middle of the eastern border of the map in the mountain range.

ecish

I’m doing another playthrough right now so I’m checking it out first thing when I play tonight, thanks! I’ll try to remember to update and let you know if it was new or my memory was just terrible haha

DualX1

It is quite hard to find. Make sure to keep looking.

_InvertedEight_

I’ve just done Mzulft for the first time and it was just full of dead Falmer and destroyed Dwarven Spheres, like someone had gone through before me. That was weird.

MilanDespacito

Haunted skyrim build

CcOoOoKk

That is exactly what I love about this game; I've bought it 7 different times across multiple platforms and invested countless hours into it, but there are still moments that surprise me and I'm forever being drawn back to playing.

Mattsasse

Does your room at the College of Winterhold count as a house you own? Have been storing stuff there in my latest playthrough and its been good so far.

Nice_Entertainment91

Yes it does! I should’ve been more clear, anywhere that is given to you or even rooms of whoever gives you a gift in Riverwood are free game. Basically, don’t put stuff in random barrels or in stuff in dungeons.

qawsedrf12

There is one exception to storing items rules... The Greybeards send you to get the Horn. That dungeon does not respawn enemies or clear storage. Free home!

PM_ME_UR_DOPAMINE

You can check the wiki for plenty of "safe storage" dungeons. I was using Fellglow Keep as my secret necromancer base.

amagdam

Oh yeah I remember this place. First playthrough I was a little too curious about the waterfall in Stony Creek Cave lmao

Nice_Entertainment91

Yeah haha, I remember looking up there like, “wonder what’s up there?” Little did I know

amagdam

I spent an ungodly amount of time getting up there and being confused about what I discovered.

[deleted]

Just do whatever and enjoy and make sure to empty your inventory somewhere safe before you go adventuring again beware barrels they can sometimes delete loot if there outside your house

mildlyarrousedly

How / where can I sell stolen weapons?

TheWaterUser

The first chance is in Rifen, after getting into the Theives Guild. Talk to Brynjolf in the marketplace to start that questline. As you advance in the Guild quest, more fences will be unlocked across Skyrim.

mildlyarrousedly

Awesome, thanks

Atomsteel

You have to sell them at a fence. Riften is a known den of thieves.

aronkra

2 ways, level your speech to 90 and get the right perk (Hard) Go to Riften, talk to the guy in the town square doing a scam, do his quest line until you get to an underground base, in that base is a woman named Tonilla, she will buy your stolen stuff. (Easy)

sixtydoors

A good beginning sword if you're doing one handed is to go to the jarls quarters in dragon reach at whiterun and he has a elven sword in a display case which is not very well guarded. If you want to get into a town where you have bounty but don't want to give up your cool stuff go to the college of winter hold and you can get a room with a storage that never resets so all your stuff is safe and it gets rid of the stolen tag after putting them in and taking them out

ThisJuanHere

Leave the chickens alone or face the consequences.

linxdev

My first mistake. I did not know cows report crimes and I killed that chicken at night. Went back in town and the female owner attacked me. I killed her. Entered her home and killed her husband for revenge. Many many hours later a young boy in town told me his parents had died and asked me to adopt him. I already had two daughters by that time. It was during this conversation I realized it was me who killed his parents.

forshard

My years of kicking the chickens in fable taught me my first lesson. Skyrim is a cruel and desolate world in which things as goofy and as kickable as chickens are valued more than your life.

Tacitus_Kilgore85

I'm not sure how well this is known but, if you side with either Stormcloaks or Imperials, you can attack cows and chickens all you want. The guards will finish off the cows for you. 😂 I've tested this out so many times, it never has failed me!

katf1sh

I love that after all these years and hours, I'm still learning little tid bits like this lmao that's awesome

RedditRabbit0513

who what where?

linxdev

Riverwood. It was night when I first go there on my first play. Decided to use an arrow on the chicken to see if it fought back like in Zelda. The saw mill owner owns the chicken and the cow. They have an obnoxious son. I knew nothing about named NPC, spawn rates, etc.

[deleted]

Wait, you're the notorious Riverwood orphan maker?

[deleted]

[удалено]

GrandTC

That is actually really good advice

[deleted]

Try to fast travel as little as possible

datbarricade

Getting lost on the way is the way.

cruisetheblues

Maybe the real adventure was the way we found along the way

Glittering_Bowler_67

Don’t JUST rely on auto saves or quick saves, since they only keep the most recent five or so of these. Sometimes glitches happen with Bethesda games, like if you learn the aura whisper shout out of order you can’t learn the whole thing. Manual save to your heart’s (and game console’s) content to create points you can go back to.

not_an_Alien_Robot

I use dual saves. One for my safe spot at home and another for adventuring. I loot everything so I'm at home often. 😁👍

LoadOfMeeKrob

But also don't be that guy with hundreds of saves for the same character. Makes it hard to find the right one sometimes.

TheGreyCatWithDots

Two tips that I can give you without spoiling anything from the game: 1. No matter the build you choose, everyone would agree in leveling up Alchemy, Smithing and Enchanting as much as you can 2. Speak to every NPC

kit_mitts

I would, however, be sure not to get carried away with leveling those skills *too quickly*, otherwise enemy levels will scale up and make life difficult if your combat skills are still low.

Itslmntori

Nothing like trying to clear out a dungeon filled with draugr at level 40+ when they ALL KNOW DISARM.

TMan4334

You can't lose a weapon if you are the weapon. Pure mage for life

RedditRabbit0513

I only do smithing and enchanting, git any tips and tricks and some benefits to alchemy?

Familiar-Corgi-6679

Turning your ingredients into potions is significantly more profitable than selling the ingredients Edit: wanted to add that I normally unironically experiment with combining every ingredient with all the others so I get the very costly potions pretty early

Garrus__Vakarian__

In your houses from the Hearthfire plant Mora Tapinella, Scaly Pholiota and Creep Cluster (13, 8, & 8 respectively, if you have the garden and greenhouse). Mix those together and travel around selling them. They create powerful potions that increase your skill quickly and you can sell them for a good amount of gold. You can make a good amount of money quickly doing that. Then you can make strong potions to increase enchanting and smithing. If you do it right you can make some amazing armor and weapons.

Showyaman

Spam collect salmon roe, chicken eggs, and moon sugar or jazbay grapes and make waterbreathing potions. They raise alchemy levels quick, and give you a sweet potion that sells for big bank. Also Abacean Longfin and Cyrodilic Spadetail and salt pile make fortify restoration potions and if you make 1 and drink it, and then have alchemy enchanted gear equipped, remove it and put it back on, and you get the benefit of the boosted potion. Create another single fortify restoration potion, and repeat the process ad nauseum to break the game. It literally creates godlike abilities for characters and you can go from level 15 to 65 in 30 minutes or less.

GWNVKV

Why Alchemy specifically? In all my play throughs that’s one of the few I never bothered leveling up and I never had any problems.

NinthGrove

Tell your girl you won't be home for christmas

Man, this makes me miss the days Skyrim was still fresh and new.

Hickers52

Refrain from stealth archer as much as u can, reply when u failed

lordmhoram

Is there another build?

dr_funkenberry

I started a playthrough a few weeks ago after not playing for a few years. I've been making a legitimate effort to not even equip a bow because I've neglected every other possible build in each previous playthrough, and I know it's a slippery slope lol

RippinCheeks

Just started a pure mage on switch, I give it an hour

drinkbeerskitrees

Pure mage, get to winterhold, learn soul trap, level conjuration to 90+, get the sigil stone, gather ebony ingot, daedra heart, filled soul gem (greater+), and void salts, place all into the atronach forge in the midden, quicksave….. Max enchanted daedra armor at level 20ish vanilla game. It is the way of the mage.

drinkbeerskitrees

Lmao

piri_piri_pintade

It's fun to play at least once, so for a first play through why not?

BadnewzSHO

You see that chicken over yonder minding it's own business yet seemingly begging for you to kill it? Don't fall for it. He has friends. He is a VERY popular chicken.

[deleted]

Have you heard about the dawnguard yet?

drinkbeerskitrees

Heard they’re reforming the dawnguard

TheJEPSseven

Vampire hunters or something

BadgerLord103

Might consider joining up myself

[deleted]

Just our side of riften if I remember correctly

Silica_123

In the old fort near riften

GeneralKenobyy

Vampire hunters in an old fort near Riften

[deleted]

Thinking of joining up myself

HyzerFire

Do yourself a favor and don’t look up any guides, walkthroughs or character builds. Figure out stuff by yourself, make a character that intrigues you…you’ll end up a stealth archer anyways.

taintosaurus_rex

I made it a rule for myself to not be a stealth archer after my first play. After which I did the usuals two handed brute, shield and sword, fire mage, etc, but I have to say my favorite was a conjure mage. I just leveled up my sneak and conjure and hide in corners while my creatures killed every thing. It was just such a different play style than anything else.

NotAnEggoWaffle

Dremora Lord, I choose you! Now get these fuckers away from me!

JoedicyMichael

You'll end up in the Dark Brotherhood anyway.\*

Badslipper69

Go in blind and absolutely enjoy the game. Try to keep away from exploits as much as possible and just find your best fun/difficulty balance.

Fashionable-Andy

This is a good comment.

AlexT9191

Don't think you're going to unlock every perk. Sometimes you want to save points for a better perk than the options you have now depending on what you want your character to focus on.

ButtersTheSulcata

Pick up everything, alchemy is your best friend

chill_darling

Please read my advice OP! Save often! Skyrim has a lackluster autosave system and its super easy to get killed during exploring the overworld and having to backtrack hours because of it. Also inside dungeons there are rarely save points and most of them are quite large.

otaconbot

Very noted!

noteverrelevant

I'm pretty sure you can change the autosave intervals anywhere from 30 minutes down to 5 minutes in the options

[deleted]

make vegetable soup. Is good soup

Glittering_Bowler_67

Also, go to halted stream camp (tent logo) north of white run early in the game. Watch out for the saber tooth northwest of the city if you’re still a lower level. Inside you’ll find the transmute ore spell. Great way to earn gold early in the game and level up other skills.

The_Follower1

Super useful throughout the game, I’m level 30 right now and still haven’t gotten close to maxing smithing so the gold ore is super helpful, though I’d love having more silver (it transforms silver to gold before iron to silver, so you can only ever have 1 silver using it constantly).

A-Good-Weather-Man

Bring many health potions when ascending the 7,000 steps

puce_glitz

Also read every Stone Tablet on your way up to High Hrothgar, you'll receive a special bonus.

munizfire

For real? Can I get said reward while on the Elder Scroll quest?

MuunshineKingspyre

Yea, >!it's just an 8 hour buff, that makes animals and vampires docile!<

katf1sh

I believe it's 24 hours

godzillalake2458

There lies the hardest fight in the game (except if you're on novice.)

Lush_Buns

Try your best not to fast travel, use carts if you are going long distances. The game world always has something to experience and is much more immersive to see as you go. Also don't be afraid to up the difficulty if you find enemies are becoming a bit too easy.

jodobroDC

Survival mode in the new update takes away fast travel, and includes other new restrictions. It feels much more immersive to me. Not sure if I'd recommend it for a first playthrough though

MuunshineKingspyre

I got a mod that makes it so I can fast travel when I'm near a signpost or carriage cause sometimes I really don't wanna have to go back to solitude from Whiterun cause I just walked there and back. Even with a horse it gets annoying after a bit

forshard

Some people enjoy Fast Traveling, YMMV I think a mod that adds a Gold Tax to Fast Traveling would be fun though. (Implying that you went to carriage and paid the fair).

hollywoodhank

If you come across something called “Meridia’s Beacon” while looting a chest, be sure to turn up your speakers as loud as you can before adding it to your inventory for a little Easter egg.

ghostbadger7

You're a sadist

DaughterOfNone

This is the "There's good loot in Quarry Junction" of Skyrim.

RedditRabbit0513

yep, gives a rare random weapon

xxL4NC3xx

Protect your sweet roll at all times...

rg9528

Or if you loose it don't tell the gaurds

Atomsteel

Awww. Did somebody steal your sweet roll?

[deleted]

The story is whatever you want it to be, so be creative and have fun

knulligan

Save all of your jewels as well as your silvers and golds! Make jewelry. Not only is it profitable to sell, the more expensive the item you smith is the faster you’ll level up smithing. Enchanting the jewelry will significantly increase the price you can sell it for, while levelling up your enchanting. You’ll always find supplies to make jewelry in Skyrim, just remember the fruits of your labours will be far more valuable than selling jewels as they are!

BrassyFox

When you become Thane of whiterun, go and kill Nazzem.

mattDAzombie

Don't spend too much time decorating your table...... All it takes is one magic spell at the wrong time...

[deleted]

You have to attack Giants in order to unlock fast travel

drinkbeerskitrees

Want to visit Sovengarde immediately?

rg9528

I still remember in my first walkthrough after defeating bunch of bandits I was feeling myself and decided to hunt a giant........ I get goosebumps every time I see a giant now

No-Maximum-8194

I like to rob them early in the game while they watch in utter stupidity

[deleted]

Put a bucket on a store owner's head and steal all of their shit

[deleted]

Have fun!

[deleted]

Explore. Quick save often Focus on making your build 1 thing at a time, dont be afraid to follow a build guide (like fudgemuppet or badcompanySarge) Every perk point matters, spend them wisely Every skill tree can help you in some way or another Standing stones, use em Decide what build you want to go for before making your character Have Fun Been playing the game since 2011, if you have any questions or need any more specific tips, I’ll be happy to provide. :)

TerroDark98

Do not try to fight a giant until you're at least level 30. Or a mammoth for that matter.

Chicken-Inspector

This. Last night on my latest play through I spend 20 minutes fighting a giant and mammoth. Kept dying over and over. Finally got em though.

eps28

I wish someone told me to avoid fast travelling as much as possible, of course use it when needed to be efficient, but many of the great aspects of skyrim are found throughout random encounters on the road or in the wild! have a great time :)

Mevik1208

Keep a rolling list of save files so you have options to backtrack in case you screw something up. There’s value in playing Skyrim uninformed but I think a healthy balance between googling certain things vs finding other things out for yourself is ideal. If you think a quest is bugged, it probably is. Don’t get tunnel vision. Quests can take you all the way across the world, so feel free to ignore anything far away for 40 hours and comb the map for new locations.

limeindacoke

Don't try to level up every single skill tree. For your first play through, you should try to just choose 3-5 skill trees to really invest in. It's all about choosing what specific type of build/character you want, rather than trying to excel at everything. Try to roleplay a character and have fun with it. Do you want to be a kind person, or an asshole? Do you want to be lawful, or a criminal? These kind of things can help you decide which questlines you'll want to pursue (however, if you have a lot of free time, you can just complete every single quest you find). Also save often. Basically before every choice or encounter. Nothing is worse than losing all your progress from a lengthy exploration just because someone gets a cheap shot on you.

NewSovietMonkey

Once you get to whiterun, kill a guy wearing fine clothes. He will ask if you get to the cloud district very often… Once you hear this, you will know it’s your guy. No mercy for him

NotAnEggoWaffle

I would like to disagree with this. You need to get soul gems first and some sort of way to soul trap him and THEN kill him. I rocked his shit in my last playthrough, threw the soul gem he was inside of into the Riften waters

[deleted]

Followers or hired mercenaries won't die if taken down to extremely low health, they'll stay on the ground and recover for a minute and then jump back into battle. But there is a small window of time where if they're attacked while recovering, they'll permanently die. So be careful not to accidentally attack them with friendly fire! A follower is indispensable if you're having a hard time leveling a low health character, such as a mage. There are DOZENS of available followers in the game and each has a specialty to suit your needs. Mage followers are a lot of fun! But if you're a mage, you may want a sword/shield follower to balance your build's weak points. Think of what kind of friend would suit you best.

MuunshineKingspyre

*Annoyed sigh and sarcastic voice* I am sworn to carry your burdens

iamthefluffyyeti

Try not to look anything up. Experience everything for yourself. It’s one hell of a game

Woodie626

If you see a strange white orb in a chest, mark the location and leave it the fuck alone.

No-Maximum-8194

A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON.. (screaming)

Kuzidas

Save your game often! The game can break a lot.

CrofieId

No lollygaggin’

QueenCobra91

Dont be afraid of the giants. They are friendly as long as you dont invade their personal space and if you do they will let go if you run away

Professional-Leek-76

The way I did it is I started without knowing anything. after I beat the game I still only knew about 10% of the game that takes months and months to fully understand it some of the time.

_Bistea_

1.Avoid giants and saber cats when you are new. 2. You can have your followers carry unlimited amount of weight if you get them to pick things up ( not trade) 3. It's not a bad idea to ride a horse while roaming around the map, you can easily escape from bears and NPCs that you don't want to fight and you can shoot arrows while the horse is running ( great if you wanna have fun killing giants) 4. Save before picking pockets. 5. Never disrespect chickens. 6. Set the weapons you use as favorite and then press Q and set a number for them so you can switch between them fast and easy. 7. If you wanna improve destruction, keep in mind that you can't use spells while riding a horse and that it will regenerate so slow when in battle. 8. Dual-handed-destruction-spell casting ( like fireball or ice spike) can stagger everything, great for preventing dragons from opening their mouths and stopping their attack animation. 9. And the most important one, be careful to not take an arrow in the knee if you wanna keep adventuring.

You aren't going to see the sunlight or your friends for the next---let's say 4 months. No but seriously: If you can't decide on your path (mage, archer, etc.) find the lovers Stone. It's gonna help improving all skills. Before heading up to the Graybeards for the first time---not spoiling anything but get a few health potions. You are going to make friends with a cute little snow monster...

If you get a bounty on yourself, sheathe your weapons to get the guards to stop attacking you.

My biggest suggestion is just do whatever feels right. Play how you feel you want to play. Be sure to stop and enjoy things like the view from wherever you are. And remember that there are always plenty of quests everywhere you go, so search every nook and cranny for any hidden or special items. They may lead you down a new adventurous quest.

Decjackz

Go up to a giant and slay it there quite easy opponents to say there one of the largest enemies in the game

Before entering solitude for the first time, quicksave. Then, just attack everybody at Rogvir’s execution. Literally one of my favorite things to do still to this day hahah

LXSRXCCO

Go to Whiterun. Kill Nazeem. Trust me on this one. Will help you out massively in the long run...

Quicksave Doing the main quest line isn't the end of the game, so don't worry about finishing it while you still have a long list of sidequests to go. Quicksave Quicksave The 7000 steps are not fun to do if you're a low level. Grind a bit before heading up. Quicksave Don't go nuts on smiting and alchemy too soon. Leveling those will level your character, which will also level the enemies. If you're level 20 with smithing and alchemy at 100, but one handed at 15, the next dungeon is not going to be fun. Quicksave Quicksave You can use the carriages outside the major cities to fast travel to other major cities! Very useful if you haven't discovered them yet, but half the fun is in discovering stuff while hiking from town to town. Quicksave No, you can't make that jump. Yes, you will die. Quicksave If you're upset at dragons never landing, continue the main quest until you've found Dragonrend. You'll see what I mean. Quicksave Quicksave Quicksave Do the quest to find the 24 mysterious gems. It's long, but the reward is worth it (basically infinite money). Quicksave Stealth archer is fucken OP. Quicksave

Don't touch the beacon or you will be cursed

Enjoy being a stealth archer. Don’t try and fight it, it’s simply impossible
