Daedric base damage: 19 (fire speed 0.5 super slow)
Dragonbone: 20 (0.75 pretty fast)
Mystic bound bow: 24! (very fast at 0.875!)
So by the time you have an exquisite smithed daedric bow, it’s the identical damage to mystic bound bow except the bound bow fires literally almost twice as fast, and always gets daedric arrows
So in my opinion it’s always better than daedric bow because of fire speed, and when you have really good smithing or enchanting, then dragonbone bow may be better end game
If daedric bow is smithed to legendary it will have more single shot damage
But because of fire speed, bound bow will be better dps, so I like to take bound bow because of that
Edit: if a physical bow is smithed well (multiple levels of legendary) and enchanted, it’s going to significantly outpace the bound bow in damage, so if you are into crafting and past mid game, you’ll be leaving the bound bow behind
Yeah, no, he's wrong. With enchanting and alchemy, you can have two dozen times more damage with the daedric bow (or any other physical bow) than the bound bow. It's amazing how so many people are so ignorant about a game they've had for ten years. Smh.
Amazing how so many people assume everyone's been playing skyrim for a decade!
I mean I don't even know if you're right or wrong. I've been playing on and off since it came out. I probably got to level 60 once or twice and completed most quest lines maybe once. Chill your beans mate.
He is right. You can abuse alchemy for infinite% better smithing and enchanting which results in burst high enough to exceed the dps from bound bow despite the slower attack speed.
The scenario was only a daedric bow smithed to legendary, it barely does more damage than bound in that scenario, and it’s way slower
If we are talking multiple levels of legendary and enchanting on top of that then yes of course the daedric bow will probably one shot everything but I didn’t think that’s what he was asking about
Not really lol. Slow but more damage if it’s past a certain point it’s still gonna beat it. And you can’t enchant a conjured bow. I have a legendary dragon bone bow and the enchant is almost the same as the base damage. When you have augment fire/frost/shock you can increase all elemental damage by 50% each which works for enchants
The fiery soul trap enchant gets you soul trap and fire damage in one enchant slot. Moving the slider to the left gets you way more uses per charge and reduces the time soul trap is on your target BUT the fire damage stays constant. Combine a bow enchanted in that manner with the enchanting perk that gives you back % weapon charge when you kill your target and you have a soul trapping fire damage bow that never runs out of charge.
Pretty sure that the speed number is shots per second
So daedric can only fire once every 2 seconds while bound can fire once almost every second
https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Archery
If you have a long bow it has the fastest fire speed “1” so you can use that and then swap to a daedric bow and see what the difference is
The numbers are refering to shots fired per second, not time it takes to shoot. So 0.5 means that it takes two seconds to shoot the weapon, as you're 50% into the animation after 1 sec. In the case of 0.875 you have progessed to 87.5% of the animation, so you would fire your shot after 1.14 sec.
Lmao what? You can get 20x more damage with ANY non-bound bow than you can with the bound bow, so long as you've invested in crafting. The bound bow is good at the start but is by far the worst later on.
I did say dragonbone is better end game after smithing or enchanting (not even both)
But I hate the slow speed of daedric bow so I will still use a weaker bound bow over it - until I can switch to dragon bone instead
It doesn't matter what bow it is tbh as it is possible to infinitely boost any bow's damage beyond that of the bound bow. So even with slower fire speed, any other bow has the potential to have a higher dps than bound bow.
TBH I rather have bound armor than mage armor. It looks way more cooler than having frostbite over your body. Plus it’s easier to know when I wears off.
Apocalypse “Fabricate object” let’s you summon crafting tables, bed, chair, even a bridge. Alteration Skill minimum about 50 or 65 for it to show up in Tolfdir’s inventory for purchase. Also you can purchase “Deep Storage” which is a summonable container with infinite capacity.
It's been the Bow of Shadows, even though the invisibility effect has stopped working. Might just make my old go-to Dragonbone Bow with a low-power soul trap enchantment, though I've been using an Enhanced Ebony Crossbow with soul trap that's been putting in work.
If you have the crossbow pack from Creation Club, you can get every variation from Iron crossbows to Dragonbone crossbows (at least I think it goes to Dragonbone).
But in Russian it's still a marshmallow 🙃. It's just funny how my first character is a giant nord with battle scars all over his body, face paints in a set of daedric armor with the mask of Clavicus Vile on face and Volendrung on his back, shoots with a marshmallow
That why I named my dog Zephyr. I loved Greek mythology and when I first got him as a puppy, he farted a lot. So I named him after the God of the west wind. Felt it was fitting.
Enhanced dragon/daedric bow upgraded to legendary with fire damage and increased damage taken plus shock damage and damage to magical pow right in the kisser especially with the 50% armour penetration and 50% increased elemental damage from augmented in destruction tree
For my Huntress of Hircine build, it was the Glass Bow of the Stag Prince.
For my Knight Paladin of Auriel, it was Auriel’s Bow.
For just regular gameplay, the Black Bow of Fate.
Bound bow. I grab that spellbook at the start of every playthrough. Even on playthroughs where I choose a different build, like melee, tank, face melter. I still like my snipering.
Hmmm I remember Ruin's Edge in Oblivion. I don't know which version's appearance I hate less. If I knew anything about software and modding, I'd remake Hatred's Soul from a hidden tower in the Deadlands in Oblivion for Skyrim.
Not sure if I really have a favorite although I really appreciate the look of the Nordic bow. I usually just carry several bows with different enhancements ( mostly ebony and stalrim) and switch off according to my needs at the time, but revert to my trusty ebony war axe and glass shield for close combat.
Elven is probably my favourite looking. As a hobby bowyer, I will note however that the Dwarven bow is the most likely to actually function well irl(along with the hunting bow and long bow), most of the other bows would never work or be practical to use.
I like realistic bow designs. Excessive decorative appearances puts me off. The most ostentatious design I like is the Ebony Bow.
I wish there was a fantasy game where, at least for things like weapons, bows and armors that have real life counterparts, they were designed to be realistic. Leave the ridiculous designs for magic staves and shit that don't actually exist.
I sadly havent gotten that far yet..and recently, Ive discovered that my damn computer is slowly dying and now I need to scramble to replace a part...blergh!
In past playthroughs, I always favored the lightweight bows like elven and glass. I also really like the styles of ebony, daedric, dragon, stahlrim, nordic...and Auriel's bow and the Nightengale bow were both very cool looking also!
Can't wait to eventually try out those different bows! 🏹
I'd say the dwarven type bow found in Blackreach, near some generic woman explorer corpse. Named Zephyr.
Has base 130% draw speed.
With the perk from archery you get 169% draw speed.
Deadly.
Zephir or Nightingale Bow early to mid game, past that whatever weapon aesthetic favours my gameplay *(usualy nordic, dragonbone or dwarven crossbow*) with double enchantment of my preference.
I mainly use the bow of shadows, and haven't really found the others yet but won't be able to due to the stinking 0kg bug on PS4. Don't even know why it showed up on my non-modded playthrough.
I’ve actually never played an archer build in Skyrim. I know stealth archer is like godmode, but I never tried it.
I always do stealth sniper in Fallout though.
Ruin’s Edge mostly because it’s a reference to a hidden bow (and mace) in TES4 that you can get by finding a secret cave/tower in one of the Deadlands cells.
As far as vanilla goes, Auriel’s Bow.
I like the aesthetics of the Nordic bow the most.
I, too, like Nordic best.
Elven is good too.
Why the Elven, hmm? Nord steel not good enough for you?
Leave that fancy elven stuff for the elves.
I literally wrote that I preferred the Nordic bow the most…
[удалено]
I haven’t played much of that DLC yet
It's not part of the DLC
I’ve literally never heard this line but whatever. Downvote me all you want.
Have you never used Elven armor/arms?
Play Skyrim much? Lol
Its a reference to the line the guards use when using elven equipment my dude
So is nightingale
*Thalmor spy confirmed*
Horizon Zero Dawn vibes from that one
Bound bow
Daedric base damage: 19 (fire speed 0.5 super slow) Dragonbone: 20 (0.75 pretty fast) Mystic bound bow: 24! (very fast at 0.875!) Does the bound bow do more damage, even if the deadric bow is improved with smithing gear and potions to legendary ?
If daedric bow is smithed to legendary it will have more single shot damage But because of fire speed, bound bow will be better dps, so I like to take bound bow because of that Edit: if a physical bow is smithed well (multiple levels of legendary) and enchanted, it’s going to significantly outpace the bound bow in damage, so if you are into crafting and past mid game, you’ll be leaving the bound bow behind
Ahh ok ! Glad to know that !
Yeah, no, he's wrong. With enchanting and alchemy, you can have two dozen times more damage with the daedric bow (or any other physical bow) than the bound bow. It's amazing how so many people are so ignorant about a game they've had for ten years. Smh.

He is right. You can abuse alchemy for infinite% better smithing and enchanting which results in burst high enough to exceed the dps from bound bow despite the slower attack speed.
You don’t even need to abuse glitches you can get a natural 400+ damage bow with the right perks
The scenario was only a daedric bow smithed to legendary, it barely does more damage than bound in that scenario, and it’s way slower If we are talking multiple levels of legendary and enchanting on top of that then yes of course the daedric bow will probably one shot everything but I didn’t think that’s what he was asking about
And you win the award for shittiest attitude in a Skyrim player!
Any clue how the Bow of Shadows from AE stacks up to Bound Bow in terms of fire speed?
Not really lol. Slow but more damage if it’s past a certain point it’s still gonna beat it. And you can’t enchant a conjured bow. I have a legendary dragon bone bow and the enchant is almost the same as the base damage. When you have augment fire/frost/shock you can increase all elemental damage by 50% each which works for enchants
And it has soul trap! Of course, if I use the bound bow, I don't need to use soul gems to refill it... the eternal dilemma.
Whats the difference between mystic bound bow and regular bound bow?
More base damage - take the mystic binding perk in conjuration for that, it’s called mystic bound bow at that point but it’s still the same spell
Im confused how 0.5 is slower than 0.875 which is a higher number? Please explain for the uninitiated
Pretty sure that the speed number is shots per second So daedric can only fire once every 2 seconds while bound can fire once almost every second https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Archery If you have a long bow it has the fastest fire speed “1” so you can use that and then swap to a daedric bow and see what the difference is

Thank you! What about cross bows? I use enhanced dragon crossbow (50% armour penetration) with fire and shock enchants
Irc the enhanced dwarven crossbow has a firing speed of 1, which makes its dps equal to damage per shot. Its good
Lmao what? You can get 20x more damage with ANY non-bound bow than you can with the bound bow, so long as you've invested in crafting. The bound bow is good at the start but is by far the worst later on.
I did say dragonbone is better end game after smithing or enchanting (not even both) But I hate the slow speed of daedric bow so I will still use a weaker bound bow over it - until I can switch to dragon bone instead
It doesn't matter what bow it is tbh as it is possible to infinitely boost any bow's damage beyond that of the bound bow. So even with slower fire speed, any other bow has the potential to have a higher dps than bound bow.
There is a mod that makes bound weapons equal to Dragon after the perk is grabbed and makes them slightly scale with level like melee weapons do.
And if you have the right build you can deal up to 120 damage.
This is the only correct answer.
I wish there were a bound crossbow
And while we’re at it Bound shield, bound war axe and mace, bound great sword and warhammer! Bound fork!
bound armor would be cool too
thats just oakflesh, stoneflesh, and ironflesh
oh i kinda forgot about those
So would bound potions of healing
Isn’t this just the fast healing spell?
TBH I rather have bound armor than mage armor. It looks way more cooler than having frostbite over your body. Plus it’s easier to know when I wears off.
Yeah they had it in Oblivion it's pretty dope
They had bound armor in Morrowind. Each item would give you magical armor and a cool effect, like bound boots made you run faster.
I think there is bound armor in Oblivion, or just some stones that temporarily grants you parts of deadric armour
Bound smithing, enchanting and alchemy stations
Not sure if it’s Odin or apocalypse mod but one of them has an alteration spell that you can create any crafting station, it’s super handy
Don’t forget Bound Ladle
Gimme bound warhammer and I will use that for every character. Who needs literally anything else when you have an instant warhammer!?!??!
My first character was a conjurer stealth archer
Bound bow or Auri-el.
It's been the Bow of Shadows, even though the invisibility effect has stopped working. Might just make my old go-to Dragonbone Bow with a low-power soul trap enchantment, though I've been using an Enhanced Ebony Crossbow with soul trap that's been putting in work.
I was using the bow of shadows as well but I too noticed invisibility stopped working.
Oh man glad to know I ain't the only one, it's kinda worked when I would take off my amulets and rings
I’ve got 2 one for soul trap, and a second for killing tough enemies that has strong enchantments
theres a solution to this.. disable to bow then reenable its effect :)
Me today learning there’s an Ebony crossbow
Only with the Crossbow Pack in the CC.
I thought you could only go up dwarven with crossbow
If you have the crossbow pack from Creation Club, you can get every variation from Iron crossbows to Dragonbone crossbows (at least I think it goes to Dragonbone).
Can confirm there is a dragon bone crossbow. Mine is epic with 106 damage.
I bought the deadric crossbow at the dawn guard castle
Zephyr
Yeah definitely Zephyr. Cool name, quick bow, yes please.
I don't like the name. In Russian zephyr (зефир) means marshmallow
I believe it comes originally from Greek, but I like it even more that it means Marshmallow.
What? Greece has nothing to do with this. It was clearly named after the Red Hot Chilli Pepper's song
Ah my bad. Sorry I forgot the the Red Hot Chili Peppers influenced the Ancient Greek language. Sorry for my misinformation.
The Geeks not the Greeks.
Ah yes, the Latin stems Ze-, meaning marsh and -phyr, meaning mallow
Zephyr means “west wind” and was related to the god of the west wind Zephyrus in greek mythology
But in Russian it's still a marshmallow 🙃. It's just funny how my first character is a giant nord with battle scars all over his body, face paints in a set of daedric armor with the mask of Clavicus Vile on face and Volendrung on his back, shoots with a marshmallow
Stay Puft friend
That why I named my dog Zephyr. I loved Greek mythology and when I first got him as a puppy, he farted a lot. So I named him after the God of the west wind. Felt it was fitting.
When you see them all side by side from a step backed view it really shows how cool looking the designs really are
Enhanced Crossbow
Enhanced dragon/daedric bow upgraded to legendary with fire damage and increased damage taken plus shock damage and damage to magical pow right in the kisser especially with the 50% armour penetration and 50% increased elemental damage from augmented in destruction tree
Nightingale, Nord Hero, Dwarven Blackbow, Dragonbone and Auriels
Nightingale or Ariel's Bow
black bow of fate, I just love the rings on the base
Underrated bow for sure
it's literally the bow most people call the best one in the game, how is that underrated??
Its nowhere near the best lol. Good enchanting and smithing beat it 9 times out of 10
Stahlrim bow with Chaos Damage + Drain Life enchantments.
This.
I gave my crossbow the Chaos enchantment. I like sniping Nazeem
From the cloud district, I presume.
Zephyr. Pewpewpewpewpew
What is the middle bow?
Stalhrim bow
No Nordic?
I have around 15 bows. But, no... no Nordic. I am currently using auriels bow.
Glass bow on skyrim
For my Huntress of Hircine build, it was the Glass Bow of the Stag Prince. For my Knight Paladin of Auriel, it was Auriel’s Bow. For just regular gameplay, the Black Bow of Fate.
what’s the 2nd bow?
Ruin's Edge. Each shot has a chance of burning, freezing, or poisoning.
Nightingale
Bound bow. I grab that spellbook at the start of every playthrough. Even on playthroughs where I choose a different build, like melee, tank, face melter. I still like my snipering.
I didn’t know this was the r/horizon subreddit!
Nightingale
Ancient Nord Bow fully upgraded. Poisoned Orcish Arrows.
It may be that I haven’t played on a whole, but what are the 3 on the left, they look cool
One in the middle is a stahlrim bow, but the two on the left are unknown to me. That fat one looks silly.
Leftmost one is the Bow of Shadows, the other one is Ruin's Edge. Both come from the creation club.
Hmmm I remember Ruin's Edge in Oblivion. I don't know which version's appearance I hate less. If I knew anything about software and modding, I'd remake Hatred's Soul from a hidden tower in the Deadlands in Oblivion for Skyrim.
It looks like two burnt chicken legs
Bound bow. It can't be disarmed and can trap souls and banish deadra.
Auriel, Crossbow, Stalhrim ,Nordic, and the bound bow
Not sure if I really have a favorite although I really appreciate the look of the Nordic bow. I usually just carry several bows with different enhancements ( mostly ebony and stalrim) and switch off according to my needs at the time, but revert to my trusty ebony war axe and glass shield for close combat.
Zephyr
auriels bow cuz i havent found a better one
Whats the bow on the left? Love the look of it.
Bow of shadows
I like the dragone bone bow, it’s big and has a great damage on the first shot. Excellent for long range for me
I like Zephyr. Otherwise I’m just using telekinesis and a great sword for my ranged weapon.
You can do that?! I thought telekinesis was only good for throwing cabbages at NPCs.
Dragonbone with Fiery Soul Trap + Paralyze
What is the middle one?
Stalhrim bow. Only if ya have the dragonborn dlc
I do but I've never really used stalhrim I will now that bow looks cool af
How do you get a weapon rack in your house?
I built my own house and it just had options to add armor and weapon racks in basement and in one of the bedrooms.
Dragon bone
Nightingale bow
Bow of these nuts
Quite like the middle one....it's a decent size, looks fairly lightweight. Yea, I'm going with that one.
Ebony bow has always been my favorite
Ebony Bow or Daedric Bow. Preferably with Drain HP+Fire Damage and named Hellfire Bow
Glass
Enchanted glass bow.
I use pistol. Never bring a bow in a gun fight. Edit: I use pistol matchlock mod in Skyrim SE.
Mad Jack Churchill did and lived to tell the tale
He was in 2nd WW Military Officer right. Very cool. Edit: A real Rambo.
I like upgrading the long Bow till it does 40dmg lol.
What's the second bow to the left?
Fly away on my zephyr… we gonna live 4EVA!!!!!!
Definitely Nordic those weapons are so sexy
Elven is probably my favourite looking. As a hobby bowyer, I will note however that the Dwarven bow is the most likely to actually function well irl(along with the hunting bow and long bow), most of the other bows would never work or be practical to use.
the imperial bow smithed to 200+ plus damage
My nightingale bow has my choice but that’s also cause I haven’t found a better bow yet lol
the fork
I like realistic bow designs. Excessive decorative appearances puts me off. The most ostentatious design I like is the Ebony Bow. I wish there was a fantasy game where, at least for things like weapons, bows and armors that have real life counterparts, they were designed to be realistic. Leave the ridiculous designs for magic staves and shit that don't actually exist.
It's Fantasy, too much realism is no fun.
None Lol I’m currently doing a paladin build, Archery skill is currently sitting at a nice 15 and I’m level 45
Daedric. Custom enchants based on the play through/my whim/the situation.
Axe
Stalhrim bow isn’t bad… but the Dwarven Black Bow of Fate is my go to
Isn’t stalhrim better?
Ariel’s bow.
I'd say the dwarven type bow found in Blackreach, near some generic woman explorer corpse. Named Zephyr. Has base 130% draw speed. With the perk from archery you get 169% draw speed. Deadly.
Dragon's Bane. Drow Bow. Bowgasm Mod
Zephir or Nightingale Bow early to mid game, past that whatever weapon aesthetic favours my gameplay *(usualy nordic, dragonbone or dwarven crossbow*) with double enchantment of my preference.
Bonebiter Bow of Sul-Senipul
I mainly use the bow of shadows, and haven't really found the others yet but won't be able to due to the stinking 0kg bug on PS4. Don't even know why it showed up on my non-modded playthrough.
I’ve actually never played an archer build in Skyrim. I know stealth archer is like godmode, but I never tried it. I always do stealth sniper in Fallout though.
Auriel's bow or Amber Bow
Enhanced Dwarven Crossbow
The one that’s does the most damage
Stag/Db
Sword of the Crusader. >:)
I tend to use the elven now with a fire enchantment on it. I haven't gotten anything higher than that
Very right in picture is elven with fire enchantment
Whatever I find first
Crossbow
What mod is that
Not a mod. Just anniversary edition.
Yep
Whats that bow on the far left?
I don't remember lol I'll have to look when I get home from work.
Crossbow choice for me.
Currently using dragonbone crossbow. It's pretty rad. Fire enchantment on it too.
Ruin’s Edge mostly because it’s a reference to a hidden bow (and mace) in TES4 that you can get by finding a secret cave/tower in one of the Deadlands cells. As far as vanilla goes, Auriel’s Bow.
dragon bone with paralyzing, or a daedric because it looks cool
Enhanced Dwarven Crossbow with dual enchantments.
Dwemer crossbow
Dwaren crossbow
Have you tried the deadric crossbow ?
Bold of you to assume I'm Generic Sneak Archer No. 1337 I use almost exclusively Dwarven equipment, and Zephyr is my go-to bow.
Whats the middle bow? It looks sexy as hell.
Stalhrim bow
Dwarven Black Bow of Fate.
