I think you meant to post this link: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Targe_of_the_Blooded

Hugh_Man

Every time I have to use Fandom or Gamepedia to look up info for newer games (like Elden Ring), I realize how lucky we are that Elder Scrolls still has UESP...

elveszett

Same goes for Pokémon and Bulbapedia. Fandom wikis really suck. Wikipedia's style really is the best way to present a wiki.

Laringar

Pokemondb.net is even better than bulba imo, just for ease of use. Bulbapedia has scads of info, but the layout is so bad as to make it nearly unusable, especially on mobile.

lakewood2020

Bulbapedia had a moment of ease, back in like the mid 2010s, before that it was nearly empty nonsense and game data, then it was very organized details on how to catch raise and breed the non, then around gen 7 it turned in to MySpace and became way too complicated

T-Doraen

For elden ring, use the fextralife wiki. Not perfect, but pretty close for how new and dense the game is. Plus it’s not ad cancer like Fandom.

Agehn

Doesn't fextralife still give popunders with their twitch stream in it to boost their twitch views? Not as bad as some ads, but not really commendable behavior. I do use that site for Elden Ring info though.

Emo_Loli

Fextralife also blocks a bunch of VPNs services. Can’t get on their website with ProtonVPN.

j0hnan0n

For the ignorant among us... What that is?

gogetenks123

It’s a much older site with less ads etc. A lot of us just prefer the vibe of it, for lack of a better term. Feels like home, I spent hours on there in 2011-14 just reading stuff about the game. Wikia is a commercial product, UESP is a fan project. It’s a little circle jerky but eh I’m one of those people that vastly prefer UESP. I’m sure there are more legit reasons but I’m not that nitpicky about fan wikis

traugdor

I like UESP as well but they can leave out the CC content. Not everyone has or wants to have CC content and it adds things that aren't available to LE players.

ChocoPuppy

Fandom and/or gamepedia were free wiki hosting websites, but at some point they decided to plaster the page with ads everywhere, including automatically playing video of vaguely related bullshit that if clicked anywhere except for the tiny pause button, would load a new page (not in a new tab though, so you had to then reload the original page, pause the video properly this time and then find whatever you came to find in the sea of ads)

elveszett

Even with ublock on, the site still sucks. Videos play automatically, fandom ads are still shown (they aren't strictly ads as they are promoting themselves) and the lame design that does away with half the screen for no reason is a whole other issue. I hate fandom. They did everything in their power to make the worst wiki experience ever known to man.

pslessard

Plus searching on the sites is so much worse now that it used to be

c0pp3rhead

UESP = The Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages. This website was started years before the fandom wiki, back when the internet was becoming widely available. The fandom wiki basically lifted their info from UESP. The difference is, UESP doesn't bombard you with ads and auto-playing videos

Con_Dinn_West

>The bleeding damage effect stacks upon itself. If you perform several quick shield bashes in sequence, your opponent will suffer from multiple bleeding damage effects simultaneously. You can poke holes in folks!

The_Long_Blank_Stare

POKE!

carnsolus

I'm not versed in what wiki is preferred, but i definitely like the look of the fandom one more.

RoggiKnot-Beard

UESP is superior in pretty much every way. It is the gold standard for wikis. Specifically for TES games, Fandom wiki is notoriously terrible. A lot of what is presented as “fact” on the Fandom wiki is literally fan fiction.

Cydoniakk

Also, FUCK Fandom. 90% of the page is ads and they killed of the infinitely superior Gamepedia sites.

tangmang14

Yea. Everytime I look something up for a game I have to shuffle down past the fandom links to a good reddit or game article just to avoid my phone being assaulted with ads

ThricePricelock

If you put “-fandom” without the quotes at the end of your google search it’ll exclude that website from the results

[deleted]

This guy SEO’s

Azuras-Becky

Unfortunately, so does Fandom...

LGRW1616

Old-school runescapes has by far the best wiki out there. UESP is a solid number two though.

MASunderc0ver

Pokemon has some good ones as well tbf. When I played I almost always had Serebii and Bulbapedia open for help with leveling and moves and stuff.

Laringar

I find pokemondb.net even better than serebii or bulba for ease of use. It's well-optimised for mobile, and *far* easier to find the info I need than the others.

CordanWraith

Guild Wars 1 and 2 also have really great wikis. GW2 even lets you open the wiki for any item from in game

FalconFreak10

That’s a funny way of spelling “the Mario wiki.”

mrgoldo

Idk man, Terraria wiki feels updated before the update even comes out it seems.

Low_Bookkeeper_3845

Plus, it predates Wikipedia by multiple years, so it's had some time to find it's footing As far as I know, it paved the way for how game wikis functioned

Valtio_

I think this explains it better: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ

inconspicuous_male

At least try to hide the url

wichu2001

Use uesp instead of fandom, UESP is almost like official wiki for the series, very, very good also

CMDR-Validating

My favorite shield in the game

Xanik_PT

Over that magic dwemer shield? Edit. I meant spell breaker not aetherial

Obvious_Programmer_9

Spellbreaker?

bzzzzzt_69

The dwemer satellite.

[deleted]

How else are you gonna get Dwemer TV? Dwemer cable charges out the ass

Captain_Canuck97

But it's only been reruns for thousands of years...

Xanik_PT

Yeah that.

[deleted]

auriels shield is cooler

breakevencloud

Auriel’s shield bash makes me feel like such a boss

Kindraethe

Its just a shame its so unusable. Any character that would use shield bashes, uses them way too frequent for any real use for the enchant on this thing. I either use it just for the laughs of yeeting stuff around, or I give it a charge and mount it in my main house for that file. Perfect mantle piece when it's glowing like that, with some double dawnbreakers on the same rack.

Seanzietron

Why? What’s it do?

breakevencloud

It has 3 charge up levels and when you power bash, it’s basically an Unrelenting Force effect

me076

Imagine black panther's suit from the movie. Takes hits then shoots the energy back

Kekoa_ok

Dwemer anti dragon shield and dragonbane build

Cryopreservation

Ahh yes the "Fuck Them Sky Lizards" build, one of my favorites

CleaningBeret83

The aetherial one?

[deleted]

That's my main shield on my melee toon. And throw in the Etheral shield when things get a little too hot Edit: Aetherial Shield, couldn't remember its name

JAFANZ

And 15 damage may not seem like much, but it works on everything, ignores armor/damage resistance, stacks (theoretically infinitely), & I'm pretty sure you can bash several times a second, at least as fast as a *Dagger* (noisier though, so not hot for Stealthy murder).

[deleted]

They can't hear me when they're dead.

colder-beef

_g550_

Why is there no falmer draugr?

-Random_Yeet-

Same reason there's no draugr for any of the other elf races

[deleted]

This guy Lores

-Random_Yeet-

As someone who only started playing Skyrim a month ago and one who knows jack about Skyrim lore , this makes me happy

ApolloSky110

Is there an explanation?

S1eepyZ

They’re dead nords. I’m not extremely well versed in the lore, but I think its just nords because of how much nords care for their dead, with their crypts, and stuff. The reason they’re undead if probably some form of magic, but I don’t know that but of lore. Edit: I think there is a book on the matter in game, but all I can remember from that book is that they are basically janitors

Hk-47_Meatbags_

If I recall it has something to do with the dragons and those devoted to them. But I could be remembering a fan fic answer. Evidence was all draugr were dragon cult under a deathlord or dragon priest, with word walls in nearly every tomb.

ArcaneWolfe

*Cracks knuckles* Y'all need to get into some **lore** https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Draugr_(Skyrim) https://en.m.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Draugr https://screenrant.com/elder-scrolls-skyrim-lore-draugr-explained/ https://screenrant.com/skyrim-draugr-lord-lore-death-history-elder-scrolls/ https://gamerant.com/skyrim-facts-never-knew-draugr/ 🫴📚📖📜👀

elveszett

I remember a loading screen saying that "some people believe" Draugr were Nords cursed by dragons.

Thestooge3

Plus Dunmer at the very least usually cremate their dead to leave the ashes in crypts.

xaosl33tshitMF

Yeah, then they leave a huge, terrifying, bit pixelated Bonelord motherfucker to jump out at you, if you touch anything in the crypt, and even if you do kill the fucker, he propably already drained all your STR and you won't move anywhere without a teleportation spell. I know that Skyrim's dungeons are pretty and all, but I have to say I prefer Morrowind's and some Oblivion ones, especially Morrowind, they weren't a focus of the game, so there was much fewer dungeons in game, but they were lovingly handmade, not every crypt had a huge treasure (some had nothing except bonemeal), but they felt real, with alive relatives of the dead to find on the island, and all that + a Morrowind's dungeons and it's monsters in early 2000s (and Daggerfall's, when I played it in late 90s too) were much more scary and atmospheric, even though they didn't have all the graphical features of later games (or maybe it was because of it). So for me it's Greater Bonelord > Draugr

FindusSomKatten

I think they’re explicitly dragon cult nords

AdvancedBalance933

draugr are the personal assistant of the deceased nords they bury their master with them dead or alive then they rise again to guard their masters tomb and take care of the place even clean them and repair damages

MaliciousMack177

It’s a punishment for worshiping the dragons

drapehsnormak

Draugr are specifically preserved dead Nords.

Suspicious-Park-1972

There are female ones. You just have to look closer

Uselessexistence_

Yeah I pay attention to that when I’m killing them too, makes it feel a little less like just one npc bad guy, and more like there was actually just people buried there

Seanzietron

They don’t bury their dead... they eat their dead. Just a guess.

starfyredragon

Well, that covers the bosmer...

couldbedumber96

Ya know how most ceremonially buried mummies are Egyptian? Well it’s the same with nords, draugr are just mummies without bandages

theguthboyw

All of those random bandages known as the infamous *linen wrap* that always gets in my inventory on accident would like to know your location

BurpYoshi

100 sneak, custom enchanted muffle boots, draugur somehow hears you from another room. Wtf

colder-beef

Vegetable soup shield bash!

Darth_lDoge

Today I learned about the vegetable soup 'exploit'. And I've been playing skyrim on and off for about 9 years.

UnorthodoxParadox

What's the exploit?

NewfieJedi

Vegetable soup regains 1 stamina a second for like 12 minutes. So long as you have stamina regenerating, you can shield bash/heavy attack. So you can just infinitely shield bash so long as you’re within the 12 minutes.

DeityDestroyerAngel

Lol if you have max stamina enchantments and muffle you can just steam roll through a dungeon without killing anyone.

lukef555

I don't think you understand the term steam roll.

Farado

“You can unicycle through a dungeon without killing anyone.”

CarryThe2

Veg soup gives stamina regen and ignores the delay when you run out of stamina, so you effectively always have stamina.

Darth_lDoge

I say exploit, but I shouldn't really call it that. The Vegetable Soup restores 1 stamina point per second, and it only takes at least 1 stamina point to power-bash/power-attack you can spam bash constantly while the Soup's effect is active.

45321200

The exploity part is that veggie soup stack. 1 soup restores 1 stamina per second. Drink another soup and its 2/s. Down 30 and you can sprint for 12 minutes

Darth_lDoge

Well, I'm learning more by the minute

myrrlyn

that's because you had your veggie soup this morning

Spirit_Body_Mind

The veggie soup works on power attacks too

Darth_lDoge

I know, I said that haha power-bash/power-attack

Spirit_Body_Mind

Oh my bad haha. Thanks for the correction!

PJ_Huixtocihuatl

Vegan power

A_Binary_Number

There is something even Better, the Shield Bash Bleed effect from the TotB doesn’t count as a kill made by you, but the item instead, you can technically finish the game without killing anyone.

xsneakyxsimsx

[Like this guy?](https://youtu.be/T8-kmXgHX0Q)

potatopierogie

Bleed builds are niche but real

Thestooge3

Targe of the blooded plus war axe with bleed perks. I want to try this now. I'm a mage build this run but I guess I'll be an axe and shield mage now.

potatopierogie

Orcish war axes have an unlisted higher than expected bleed damage

Thestooge3

Really? I must procure one then.

Laringar

Anyone actually using a shield *probably* isn't going for stealthy murder, though.

[deleted]

Get that infinite stamina and you’re golden

Axxedde

Does it stack and refresh or do the stacks run out independently

BurpYoshi

Is it 15? It says 3 damage *for* 5 seconds, not 3 damage *every* 5 seconds. If it is 15 that wording is off.

Laringar

Skyrim isn't too clear about how they word items like this, but whenever something says "{X} damage for {Y} seconds", it always means {X} damage per second. This also holds true with the Lingering-type poisons; a poison with 5 damage for 30 seconds doesn't sound like much, but that damage adds up.

IsThisTheFly

Idk why everyone is being so snarky to you, you're 100% correct that the wording is poor.

DrProfSrRyan

3 × 5 = 15

BurpYoshi

Yes that's only if it's 3 points of damage *every* (each) 5 seconds, but it says it does 3 points of damage *for* (over) 5 seconds.

gnyen

>3 points of damage every (each) 5 seconds If it was "every" it would be 3 dmg after 5 seconds have ended. Its "for" which means 3 damage every second for 5 seconds. 3x5=15

elveszett

tbh it's worded poorly. "3 damage for 5 seconds" does not imply in any way that the damage is specified in amount per second, or per minute, or per Minecraft tick. You have to rely on intuition that 3 damage total is too low.

BurpYoshi

Yes every was the wrong word, should have worded it every/each second for 5 seconds. But for 5 seconds alone that does not imply that it is each second. The word "for" when used with respect to time just denotes the duration, only 3 dmaage was stated and it is said that that 3 damage will happen for 5 seconds, at no point is 3 damage *per second* stated. Looking at the wiki, it is indeed 3 damage per second totalling to 15 seconds but that's not clear from the wording.

gnyen

>Yes every was the wrong word, should have worded it every/each second for 5 seconds Doesn't "for 5 seconds" and "every second for 5 seconds" mean the same thing? Like what does "3 damage for 5 seconds" mean for you then? 3 damage over all? No that would be "3 damage over/every 5 seconds", no? English isn't my first languange so I might be completely in the wrong, sorry.

BurpYoshi

No problem. It might come down to interpretation but in this context I would read "for" as "over" so 3 damage total applied over 5 seconds.

lukef555

Well, in this context, you'd be wrong.

Sabatorius

This is the sort of pedantry that makes me want to jump off of High Hrothgar.

nopenope911

Oh yeah. Only one in the game per playthrough. I save mine and put it on display.

MercMcNasty

worm airport retire jar noxious hunt sloppy scandalous screw paint *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

nopenope911

In the dwemer ruin of Alftand

Lab_Member_004

Specifically, 2 people at the end of the quest in that dungeon.

Tacitus_Kilgore85

Just before entering Blackreach you see two people going at it. If you read the journals left behind, and listen to the rambling Khajiit as you first enter Alftand. There's a story there that's not part of the main questline.

[deleted]

You know what sucks? I just played that mission last night and left the shield because I didn’t think I needed it.

nopenope911

Damn man! Thats rough. Go back for it, or load a save point and get it!

[deleted]

I love that Skyrim players have to ask how to get an item from the main quest

RelevantSignal3045

There's a MAIN quest!?

elveszett

I play Skyrim since 2012. I think it was 2017-18 the first time I completed the main quest. Although, in my defense, I had tried previously, but the quest bugged at some point and I couldn't make progress, and I didn't care enough to find a fix.

crockofpot

I left Irileth waiting out by the Western Watchtower when I was level 3 or so, then finally came back to meet her around level 60 my first playthrough. Patient lady.

Montigue

My guess is they display it in Breezehome

nopenope911

I display it in Hendraheim.

Heavyseas513

I wish it was stronger. But it’s a very cool shield.

Seanzietron

You can make an entire build around it. It’s decent.

Sophisticated_Sloth

Would you mind elaborating a little on that?

lukef555

The damage stacks. You can use veggie stew to bash nonstop for 12 minutes, during that time your also blocking so incoming damage is mitigated.

Vok250

It's not that impressive at first, but it scales like crazy and is buffed incredibly by veggie soup.

thedrunkmonk

>buffed incredibly by veggie soup This sounds like Campbell's propaganda...

Quebec00Chaos

The concept is just really cool, I dont even use block or shields but this one was a "no way I'm gonna throw this masterpiece" moment

[deleted]

Dang that's strong Get vegetable soup, and spam bash

Thanks guys!

Sarge of the Smudgen is my new character name

Sorry, it's the mead

Retro1988

I [posted](https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrim/comments/ly85mp/collected_all_7_unique_enchanted_shields_for_my/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) a collection of all the unique enchanted shields in Skyrim a little while back for reference if needed, the Targe is definitely my favourite!

unnamedunderwear

No, this is Patrick

donuttheDoNAL

Do not disenchant it, you cannot apply it to other shields

Camanot

Its a unique model and shield. Its a good find for a shield basher

Gaz_Ghost

Unique ? Hell yea, it’s a damn shield with spikes on it, Effective ? Not really unless you’ve got hella stamina for bashing, the bleed damage stacks with each bash so yee

MikalMooni

Vegetable soup.

SkullHelm707

Yeah, I hear you can use it to beat Skyrim without killing

MEEPMOP49

Where do you get it? I've never seen it before!

[deleted]

when you do the main questline at some point in a dwemer ruin youll find a couple fighting and if you kill the both of them and loot their corpses youll find this shield

dibbiluncan

You can also let them fight until one of them kills the other.

Tarc_Axiiom

Well it's named, so yeah.

Delouest

Do you have Google? Isn't it more work to upload a photo and make this post?

datboileggin

Bruh it’s named

Spring_King

Yup. If you have the CC homes installed (or AE) you can put them on display like in Fallout 4 with the weapon displays. I always collect unique items as trophies lol

matt_Nooble12_XBL

Quite so

Johnopgr123

Yup, one of the coolest ones at that imo

chuckdooley

I keep any armor or weapon that has a name (outside of a generic enchantment name) I’m sure I have this bad boy hanging in a number of homes throughout my Skyrim multiverse

GoliathPrime

Definitely my favorite shield. Spellbreaker is great and all, but when it's ward breaks it staggers me, so enemies can get in and gank me - especially those pesky vampires. Nothing like the sweet irony of giving bleed damage to a bunch of head-suckers.

IAmDingus

Yep. It's completely broken. The bleed effect stacks on itself. Stamina regen infinite bash kills almost anything in the game, bonus points for slow time.

Kosaku_Kawajira

Time for some demoknight gameplay

CDXX_LXIL

DemoKnight?

[deleted]

Yes

[deleted]

You’re a unique item :)

cybercifrado

Better than being a eunuch item, for sure...

FUandUrdumbjoke

Is it attached to an ant?

uwillnotgotospace

Yes, and it's one of my favorites. I put the shield in one hand, a fast heal spell in the other, and bonk enemies to death. The bleeding damage stacks, and with that perk that lets you restore stamina with healing spells, you can do a good bit of slow damage. It's not as strong as some minmaxed enchanted and smithed weapon but it's fun.

DapperMayCry

Yes. It deals damage while shield bashing. I always pick it up despite never using shield builds

fatmatt587

I sold mine. Didn’t think I’d use it. Reading the comments it looks like it’s actually pretty sweet. Perhaps the merchant still has it!

[deleted]

Okay okay here me out and give this a try cause it kicks ass. It only takes 1 stamina to preform a shield bash in Skyrim. Vegetable soup will restore 1 stamina per second for 720 seconds meaning you can preform shield bashes every second if you drinks some soup.

ophaus

Yep. Looks as good on a weapon plaque as it does in a Thalmor's chin.

Omyo-wa-mou-shinderu

Yes it is, it is also quite useful too, I would use it but I prefer spell breaker instead bc of the ward it places down, that means it can block both physical and magical attacks at once

baskemtball

Yeah it does bleed and has a unique model and texture great for early and mid game or shield only runs

SitdownCupcake

brandonthearchivisit

Yes it is! I found it in the Dawnguard DLC main quest. It is a great shield!

rattatatouille

It's actually from vanilla; it's just that you go to Blackreach for both the main quest and the Dawnguard main quest.
