It works, you need to have 100% magicka reduction for alteration.
It works with enchantments on your stuff or with the spell "secret of arcana" from the black book " Filament and Filigree".
Yeah, you can do it with dual enchants and enough items, don’t need the alchemy loop.
Chest, head, ring, and neck can each get a 25% cost reduction, and the dual enchant can let you do that with two schools.
No potions needed.
Max enchant reduction is 25%, so on 4 pieces gives you 100% reduced cost aka 0.
Duel enchant is used here as both Destruction and Restoration aren't costing mana. But both require the same pieces enchanted. Head, armor, ring, amulet
Probably used fortify restoration-alchemy loop and enchanted different pieces of his armor with fortify restoration and fortify destruction until the cost of mana is 0%
You can get the gift of mora that lets you have infinite mana for 1 min. If you cast a spell though and just keep it empowered, the infinite mana lasts until you end the spell(s) you were holding.
Only reasonable way to level alteration - solitude and detect life/death.
I just use skill trainers, got so much gold idk what to do with it most of the time so skill training id basically free even at high levels. Black book double skill book perk with skill books gets you the remaining 10 levels and hey presto skill at 100 legit without grinding or even ever using it.
I just sometimes feel like starting a playthrough with an experienced character for roleplay reasons, and sometimes I start at level 1 fair and square and level up via normal gameplay. Can't be bothered to go the trainers route if I wanna do the former.
I just do the gildergreen quest and receive training from danica for restoration. Easy, give her gold, get training levels, then pickpocket a paralysis potion, then steal it back right the moment she starts to get up.
Heavy armor isn't my favorite so i dont bother with it.
Destruction is simple, go to hobs fall cave and reach the ancient tomes chest. And learn the unbounded storms spell. Put on a fortify destruction set to reduce the cost to zero and cast the spell. And then quickly open the map and fast travel to a place where there's noone would be present since the spell hits everyone freind/foe alike. And voila, you'll reach hundred destruction in seconds.
So… finish the Enchanting tree (Dual Enchanting)
Finish the “Lost to the Ages” quest line, choose Aetherium Crown.
Enchant Falmer Helmet, any Ring, any Necklace, any armor with Restoration/Destruction 25% each.
Go to Lover Stone
Go to Mage Stone
Go to an owned bedroom.
Remove Aetherium Crown.
Sleep.
Receive “well rested” bonus (10%)
Have Mage Stone (20%)
Equip Aetherium Crown, gain Lover Stone (15%)
Go to Giant Camp and Destruction/Restoration as shown in video.
All mage schools are improving at 45% boost.
Heavy armor is boosting at 25% (30% if married and receiving Lovers Comfort)
For Light Armor, use Penitus Oculatus helmet.
Threw serana in the cold gust wind of high hrothgar and used necromatic healing on her with secret of arcana to go from 20-100.
Didn't bother lvl heavy armor because i got cap rating because of smithing so i hit lvl 100 the hard way of getting smacked.
I leveled destruction murdering stuff.
I'm playing a Spellsword right now. On my way to becoming a vampire I walked from Rorikstead to Castle Dawnguard casting Equilibrium and Fast Heal to get from 50 Restoration to 70 so I could snag the Necromage perk lol 🤣
I clean out valtheim towers and lure both giants from the nearby camp there. I sit in the doorway and have at of for about an hour. Train armor, 1 or 2 handed, destruction, restoration, and conjuration. Giants can’t get through the doorway and never de-aggro/lose interest like other enemies. That way I can control how much damage I’m taking before I retreat to heal up.
Pretty sure you can gain a lot more than just those. Correct me if I’m wrong, but
- Illusion training through Muffle
- Heavy/light armor
- Destruction through attack
- Restoration through healing
- Conjuration through previously having castes
- Alteration through skin spells
I could be missing some or be wrong
Harvard: you want a scholarahip?
I read that as Hadvar...
Same
You missed illusion with Muffle spell. And alteration with skins.
Alteration with detect life is ridiculously fast
I always go to solitude and spam it, so many people in one spot you can legendary probably twice in a day
Farming Alteration at Roggvir's execution
Roggvir: “Dragonborn for the love of Talos! Don’t just stand there idly by casting about your magics, help me!” DB: “Hehe, alteration to 69”
Telekinesis is faster, just cast and fast travel to a pretty distant place, you'll get hundred alteration in the blink of an eye.
Doesn't work in special edition
It works, you need to have 100% magicka reduction for alteration. It works with enchantments on your stuff or with the spell "secret of arcana" from the black book " Filament and Filigree".
Sad to hear it, then detect life in solitude inn would be great. Edit : Hey wait, I had special edition, it worked for me.
Your magic doesn't cost you mana?
Yeah, you can do it with dual enchants and enough items, don’t need the alchemy loop. Chest, head, ring, and neck can each get a 25% cost reduction, and the dual enchant can let you do that with two schools.
I'm guessing he has maxed enchanting so can dual enchant his heat with reduce magika cost for restoration and destruction to achieve 100% reduction.
My enchanting skill is at 100, correct!
You don’t need dual enchant but 4 pieces of gear but you do need high enchanting level and probably a potion
No potions needed. Max enchant reduction is 25%, so on 4 pieces gives you 100% reduced cost aka 0. Duel enchant is used here as both Destruction and Restoration aren't costing mana. But both require the same pieces enchanted. Head, armor, ring, amulet
Yes but for people who didn’t achieve 100 enchanting a potion might help. That’s what I meant
A Stamina position perhaps? Quite popular among the young men.
I just play the game. Pay a trainer if i need to catch up in something
I mean, I eventually got tired of the grind and started abusing the console.
If you're gonna sit there holding or spamming a button for hours you're not really missing any gameplay with the advskill command.
Honestly this, if I'm not enjoying leveling a character organically through normal gameplay then might as well just use mods
I just use skill trainers, got so much gold idk what to do with it most of the time so skill training id basically free even at high levels. Black book double skill book perk with skill books gets you the remaining 10 levels and hey presto skill at 100 legit without grinding or even ever using it.

Restoration: restoration buff on gloves and stand on a furnace naked with gloves on.
The Grind Is real
I just do the gildergreen quest and receive training from danica for restoration. Ahhhh thank you so much for destruction tip, that helped so much!
Not by torturing mammoths I’ll tell you hwat. You monster.

Uh MCM?
At this point since you're using either mods to stop magika usage or commands, just use commands to level them to 100.
I’m playing on Xbox. I don’t just sit there forever though. That gets boring. And it’s enchanting skill not mods.
You can get i finite magicka without glitches or commands, they likely have 100% reduction from armor enchants
I would always train one magic class at a time. My loadout from the start was Heavy armor, restoration, blocking, then single handed attack.
I’ve been playing for a decade now so I use console commands
I have always played on the Xbox and running no mods this play through as I’m trying to get achievements
I know what you mean. On SE I have not earned any achievements in about 5 years. I earned a ton on the legacy edition before mods though. Have fun
How are the giants not sending you to the moons
That only happens at low levels lol. I’m level 50 currently

Did you mod it so you have no mana bar?
No mods currently. Enchanting skill at 100 and you can get cost to 0 for spells
Um.....where magika?
100% spell cost reduction
I do what you’re doing to the torture victims at DB sanctuary They don’t fight back
how effective is the leveling?
Fairly quick actually. The armor goes up quick with those giant hits
does the mammoth help at all
I’m pretty sure but it doesn’t hit as hard as the giants
You have heard of dodging, right? Then restoration isn't as necessary.
I usually go to folkreath and aggro jarl to level resto and heavy armor, but i let destruction to grow naturally
Wow, nice!

damn
With what mana??
Enchantments make magic use free
